On Saturday, it was reported that at least 15 villages were recaptured from ISIS terror group since the declaration of the 2nd phase of al-Hawija liberation.
Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced on Friday launching the second phase of Hawija liberation. 
On July 10, Iraqi security forces recaptured Mosul after a 9-month military operation.
In late August, it retook Tal Afar city. Currently, forces seek to recapture ISIS-held districts in Kirkuk Governorate and western Anbar.

Security forces retake 6 villages in Hawija from ISIS grip

 

Iraqi security forces have retaken six villages in Hawija district from ISIS, a security source said Tuesday.

Earlier on Sep. 30, other 11 villages have been liberated from ISIS grip in Hawija district.

ISIS managed to seize large swathes of territory in northern and western Iraq and eastern Syria in 2014, establishing a self-declared on the territories it captured.

The terror group is collapsing in Iraq since it has been expelled from Mosul and Tal Afar. 

Also, the US-led coalition is helping Iraqi forces in expelling ISIS from Iraq.

Federal Police retake 65 villages in western Hawija

Federal Police Forces (FPF) have recaptured 65 villages in western Hawija, Lieutenant-General Raed Shaker Jawdat announced on Tuesday.  
In a statement, Jawdat said that the forces retook 471 square kilometers of western Hawija territories and maintained control over al-Fatha district and Makhoul Mountains in southwestern Hawija.   
Federal Police units are nine km away from Hawija. They are preparing to launch the third phase to recapture central Hawija, with an estimated area of 15 square kilometers, he noted.
On Friday, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced launching the second phase of Hawija liberation operation, including districts in western Kirkuk. 
On July 10, Iraqi security forces recaptured Mosul after a 9-month military operation.
In late August, it retook Tal Afar city. Currently, forces seek to recapture ISIS-held districts in Kirkuk Governorate and western Anbar.

ISIS has set fire to its main media center, containing the terrorist group’s entire archive, as well as six others in Hawija city in Kirkuk Governorate, a local source told The Baghdad Post Tuesday. 
ISIS media centers contain video and document archives that reveal the identities of ISIS terrorists and commanders, information about their meetings and key armed operations in the period following the terrorist group’s control of Hawija, he added. 
On Tuesday, Iraqi security forces retook six villages in Hawija from ISIS.

Iraqi army, police launch joint offensive to oust ISIS from Baqubah

Iraqi Army in partnership with police forces launched a joint military operation to oust ISIS terrorists from Hodi al-Zor and Arab Jabbar districts in Baqubah governorate.

In a statement, the commander of Tigris Operations Lt. Gen. Mezher al-Azzawi said that that the operation is aimed at eradicating ISIS terrorists in western and eastern Baqubah.

After the milestone defeat of ISIS in Mosul city, its last major stronghold, Iraqi security forces began to sweep rest of Iraqi cities to purge them from ISIS remnants.

Chilling images have emerged showing an ISIS suicide vest factory where terrorists manufacture deadly devices filled with ball bearings in Iraq, the Daily Mail reported on Tuesday.

The photos show masked bomb-makers wearing latex gloves preparing explosives packed with ball bearings at a weapons facility near the capital Baghdad. 

A terrorist can be seen packing the device into a camouflage pouch and another picture shows a room with several completed suicide vests on the ground.

Another terrorist is shown fitted with the deadly cargo and with what appears to be two triggers on the vest.


ISIS is continuing to lose swathes of its territory across Iraq and the US led-coalition  recently said the terror group is on the run across the Middle East.

In recent months they have frequently used suicide bombers and deadly booby-traps in a desperate bid to slow the advance of Iraqi troops. 

"ISIS is losing on all fronts, and they are losing their grip on their few remaining strongholds in both Iraq and Syria," Army Col. Ryan Dillon.

The coalition and its partners on the ground - the Iraqi security forces (ISF) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) - remain committed to defeating the enemy, he said.

'But make no mistake,' he added, 'we fully expect fierce fighting in the days ahead.

'And while these terrorists remain a dangerous and desperate enemy, our ISF and SDF partners have proven they are up to the task.'

Iraqi forces have made significant progress in the fight, Dillon said.

'Our Iraqi partners have fought a long, bloody war and have sacrificed a great deal to liberate their people and clear terrorists from cities and villages,' he told reporters.

More than 26,000 square miles in Iraq have been cleared and more than four million people are now free from ISIS control, the colonel said.

'ISIS is on the run, and we must remain focused on delivering a decisive defeat in their few remaining holdouts in Iraq,' he added.

Joint Forces Command and War Media Cell issued on Wednesday a map featuring the latest developments in the military operations to recapture Hawija city in southwestern Kirkuk from ISIS terrorists. 

The map shows only four districts are still controlled by ISIS, namely (al-Riyadh, al-Saidiya, Helewa and al-Sharifiyah). 

According to War Media Cell, 13 days have passed since the military operation to retake the city was first launched. 

 

On Wednesday, it was reported that Iraqi joint forces advanced five kilometers towards Hawija.

More than 13 ISIS top leaders were killed in US-led coalition airstrike on southwestern Kirkuk, a security source said on Wednesday.

The coalition warplanes targeted a gathering for ISIS leaders in Hawija district, the source added, noting that ISIS leader who is responsible for 'Bayt al-Mal' (House of wealth) was among the dead.

He also confirmed that the attack resulted in the destruction of several ISIS tactical units.

Iraqi joint forces have advanced five kilometers toward Hawija district, war media cell said in a statement Wednesday.

 

It added that the security forces have carried out a major operation on Wednesday morning to retake Riyadh neighborhood and surrounding areas in the district from ISIS. 

 

Hawija, north of Baghdad, and a stretch of land along the Syrian border, west of the Iraqi capital, are the last stretches of territory in Iraq still in the hands of ISIS.

Exactly. That is why I am discussing with me wife about buying 30 - 100 wooded acres of recreational land somewhere below the Mason-Dixon line post RV. This way we can learn how to hunt and fish and maintain a sustainable wildlife population off said property, if needed.  Just in case all grocery stores are taken over by government zombies post RV.
