Earth News / Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani chaired a meeting to find out the reasons for the delay in the projects of the four entrances to the capital, Baghdad.

Al-Sudani's media office said in a statement received by Earth News, "The Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, chairs an important meeting devoted to discussing the implementation of works in the projects of the four entrances to the capital, Baghdad, and to find out the reasons for delay in them."

Yesterday, Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani discussed, during an important meeting, the implementation of works in the projects of the four entrances to the capital, Baghdad, and to find out the reasons for delay in them. 

A statement from his office stated that "the prime minister chaired an important meeting to discuss the implementation of works in the projects of the four entrances to the capital, Baghdad, and to find out the reasons for delay in them, in the presence of a number of ministers, the governor and secretary of Baghdad, security leaders, technical experts, and representatives of the implementing companies."

Al-Sudani referred, according to the statement, to "the daily suffering of citizens due to the poor entrances to the capital, Baghdad, and the failure of the concerned authorities to deal with this important project for citizens, vehicles, community, service and security activities, and the failure to estimate the size of the problem, holding the concerned authorities responsible for this delay, with unacceptable justifications." And he stressed, "The situation at those entrances has become unbearable, and it is not possible to be courteous in this situation."

The Prime Minister reaffirmed "the need for the competent authorities to set priorities regarding project plans, as there are projects that do not accept disruption and delay, by mobilizing the concerned authorities with all their staff and powers to complete the implementation of the entrance projects, and to address the delay in working on them." 

Al-Sudani directed, "To take all necessary measures towards the lagging companies, and the ministries and the governorate to fully implement their duties, and increase working hours to be on three meals by 24 hours, in addition to resolving the spare order for the Baghdad-Mosul entrance project within 10 days, as directed by the ministries of defense and interior." And justice, by raising all the conflicts that hinder these projects within a period of two weeks.”

He continued, "The governor, deputy governor, and technical assistants must always work in the resident engineer's office for these projects, follow them up on the ground, and be constantly present, in addition to submitting a weekly position to the prime minister that includes details of the progress of completion of these projects."

Yesterday, Tuesday, the Prime Minister's Office revealed the launch of the tasks of the government services team in Baghdad.

A statement by the office stated, "Under the direct direction of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, the tasks of the (government services team), which was formed in order to improve public services of all kinds in the capital, Baghdad, began." The statement added, "The team will work to respond to citizens' demands and aspirations in the services sector according to priorities, through continuous field work, as well as involving citizens in the process of evaluating the achievements of the concerned service departments and the level of performance of their officials," noting that "this initiative comes to be a practical translation of directives." Prime Minister, which aimed to develop the service aspects in order to improve the reality of service provided to citizens.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers clarified, on Tuesday, the details of the development work at the entrances to Baghdad, while noting that they include electronic checkpoints and cameras, and determined their current completion rates.  

 

  

  

The spokesman for the General Secretariat, Haider Majeed, said in a statement to the official agency, followed by “NAS” (March 28, 2023), that “the project to develop and rehabilitate the entrances to the capital, Baghdad, is one of the important vital and strategic projects that receive direct government interest, and it also falls within the projects to remove bottlenecks.” traffic in the capital, Baghdad," indicating that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani is interested in this project, and communicates directly with the supervising authorities."  

  

He added, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani held a meeting to listen to all the merits of the project to develop the capital's entrances and work obstacles, and directed that they be overcome in coordination with the relevant authorities."  

  

He pointed out, "The percentage of completion at the capital's entrances varies, including the entrances to Baghdad-Wasit and Baghdad Diyala, and ranges between 55-60%, and work is continuing."  

  

He explained, "The development work includes the construction of main gates for the entrances to the capital, Baghdad, and the length of each entrance ranges between 25 to 30 km, in addition to rehabilitating, expanding, cladding and furnishing roads, establishing median islands and planting sidewalks, and there will be a number of overpasses and bridges alternative to the current turns." .  

  

He continued, "The entrances will also include gates with modern designs and electronic checkpoints equipped with surveillance cameras, and the width of each road will be 100 meters with 4 lanes," noting that "there is a proposal to include these projects with yards for commercial exchange and resting places for travelers."  

  

And he stated, "The entrance to Baghdad and Wasit will include bridges for vehicles to cross from both sides, and two main roads, in addition to two secondary side passages, for the wheels heading to the secondary sides to pass."  

  

He stressed, "Work is continuing on projects to develop the capital's entrances, and there is a double effort by the Roads and Bridges Department in the Ministry of Construction and Housing through its companies, which are specific to time periods imposed on each contract concluded between the executing companies and the sectoral authorities."  

  

He pointed out, "The development works included the Baghdad-Fallujah Road with a length of 32 and a half km, the Baghdad-Kut Road with a length of 32 km, the Baghdad-Hilla Road with a length of 34 km up to the Alexandria sub-district, the Baghdad-Diyala Road with a length of 12 km up to Jdeidet Al-Shatt, and the Baghdad-Mosul Road with a length of 32 km." How far does it reach Dujail district?  

  

Yesterday, Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani issued several directives to end delay in the projects of the entrances to the capital, while stressing the need to provide him with a weekly position that includes details of the progress of completion of these projects.

{Politics: Al Furat News} Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani directed today, Wednesday, to expedite the completion of projects that have achieved high completion rates, and at the same time that the works are characterized by accuracy and integrity, and that they are not tainted by any corruption or deviation from the main objectives.

And his media office stated in a statement received by {Euphrates News} that "the latter chaired a meeting of the head and members of the service and engineering effort team, and the meeting witnessed a review of the projects implemented in the capital, Baghdad, and a number of governorates, the percentage of completion in them, ways to provide financial allocations for them, and proposals for addressing obstacles facing work." . 

Al-Sudani stressed, "The need to complete projects that directly affect the citizen's daily life, and the work team must take the initiative to solve citizens' problems without waiting for the Prime Minister's directives."

He referred to "the mechanism adopted in selecting the areas to which services are provided, which depends on the extent of the disadvantaged, the population ratios, and the readiness of the region." 

It is noteworthy that the number of implemented projects, and under implementation in Baghdad and the provinces, has reached 54 projects, 29 of which are in Baghdad, 10 projects in Diwaniyah, 10 projects in Maysan as well, while the number of projects in Al-Muthanna Governorate is 5.

{Local: Al-Furat News} The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shayaa Al-Sudani, briefed the Prime Minister, on the field, on the development and rehabilitation works at the northern entrance to Baghdad (Baghdad-Mosul).

On March 27, Al-Sudani issued several directives to resolve the completion of the projects of the gates and entrances of the capital, Baghdad, the most important of which is: “Take all necessary measures against lagging companies, and the ministries and the governorate must fully implement their duties, increase working hours to be on three meals by 24 hours, and settle the spare order for the entrance project.” Baghdad - Mosul within 10 days.
He also issued a decree stating that “the Ministries of Defense, Interior, and Justice shall raise all conflicts that hinder these projects within a period of two weeks {from the issuance of the decision} and the governor, deputy governor, and technical assistants must work in the resident engineer’s office for these projects, follow them up on the ground, and be constantly present.”
Al-Sudani called for "providing him with a weekly report that includes details of the progress of these projects."

{Baghdad: Al-Furat News} Baghdadis are awaiting the official date for the opening of Abu Nawas Street Corniche and Gardens in the center of the capital, Baghdad, in its new look, after the progress of rehabilitation and development work.

The Corniche will be the first typical 2.5 km waterfront in the capital, Baghdad, and the most beautiful Corniche in Iraq.
The project includes, in detail, a plaza (a central square for sitting and embracing celebrations), seating and barbecue areas, tennis courts, increasing vegetation by planting more perennial trees, and constructing a river walkway with seating areas with a length of 2.5 km.
It also includes the construction of a cycling track, a running track, and a complete cleaning and rehabilitation of the river bank.
It also includes the construction of an integrated lighting system for the new Corniche, gardens, a walkway adjacent to the river, river seating, rehabilitation and development of parking lots, secured official entrances, and health services.

Al-Sudani allows citizens to use the roads of the Green Zone in Baghdad
  
{Umniah: Al Furat News} The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, directed today, Sunday, to allow citizens to use the roads of the Green Zone in Baghdad.
 

And the Security Media Cell stated, in a statement that {Euphrates News} received a copy of, that: "The Iraqi government, headed by the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, seeks to simplify procedures in various joints, including reducing the burden on citizens and making the movement of the street and the flow of traffic."

And she added, "He has directed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to allow citizens to use the roads of the Green Zone in the capital, Baghdad, according to his vision of the security forces responsible for the security of the region, and to extend the hours of use in order to facilitate movement for the citizen in it."

{Local: Al Furat News} The Municipality of Baghdad announced, today, Thursday, the start of a campaign to develop and cover 18 important streets within the People's Municipality sector within the plan of the emergency support law for food security.
 

A statement of the Municipality, a copy of which {Euphrates News} received, stated that: "The engineering staff in the Projects Department and under the direction of the Mayor of Baghdad, Eng. Ammar Musa Kazem, began implementing a campaign to cladd (200) thousand square meters in the People's Municipality sector within the emergency support budget plan for food security."
He added that "the aforementioned department has started covering the Central Markets Street with a superficial asphalt layer," noting that "the cladding campaign includes the streets of (Al-Ghanama, Fahmy Al-Mudarres, Abu Al-Qasim Al-Shabi, Al-Quds, Zain Al-Qaws 46 Abeer, 24 Khaled, 30 Basra, Central Markets, Al-Tawhid, Aden and Al-Kenisah)" .
And the statement continued, "The cladding and development campaign also includes streets (15, 52, 55, 56, 32, 1, 47 and 49), the street opposite the destination of the locality 319, Street 41 Hussainiya Al-Mustafa, and a number of separate alleys within the residential shops."

 Baghdad: Janan al-Asadi,

the Municipality of Baghdad will open, during the next few days, the celebrations square in the capital, in front of the Baghdadi families, after they started a long time ago to rehabilitate it to be an important and vital outlet in the capital.
The celebration square, which was established in 1986 and was cut from Al-Zawra Park, includes vast green spaces, fountains, museums, memorials, a platform and corridors designated for celebrations, in addition to the Mansour cinema and theater, and the Unknown Soldier monument is located near it.
Marawan Hamed, the media director of the Department of Parks and Landscaping in the Municipality, told Al-Sabah that his department has begun work to rehabilitate the celebrations square in order to open it to citizens soon, revealing that green spaces will be increased in the area, in addition to implementing basins for sprinkler irrigation systems, raising bushes, and pruning and cutting. Trees and shrubs and remove what died from them.
He stressed that works are continuing to establish a park in Sadr City within Sector Nine, with the aim of increasing green spaces in the capital's areas.
