That comment is again EXACTLY why I started this thread. Is it really so difficult to understand my position? I love some of what Trump does, but as POTUS  I expect him to enforce the laws of the land.  I see the left as being totally overrun by Evil Communist manipulators and therefore cannot allow myself anywhere near what they stand for. 

When Trump does something good, I will tout it and l would do the same for the Democratic party (if that still existed)

This is what I'm trying to get everyone to see. Just because we disagree with each other doesn't mean we must be disrespectful. Nor does it mean we must continually belittle the other side. It's okay... I've been reading these guys for years and soon there will be a new thing to gripe about... LGD does jump around alot with his not supporting Trump but then posting all those tweets from Trump supporters who post lot's of conspiracies... Although in this thread it seems LGD has come to realize no politician is out there to empower "we the people" and for that I applaud him.

Think of it as my personal study of human behavior. I find People's feelings about Trump to be historically remarkable, if not Biblical. But the most amazing thing about people's reaction to Trump is the complete lack of understanding history. It was only less than 100 years ago people reacted to another political figure the same way. 

Now I'm not saying Trump is like that other political figure, only that people are reacting to Trump in the same manner. And that didn't work out to well for anyone back then.

I couldn't agree more with this comment. As I've said, it's just that people are dying and cities are burning. The DOJ is clearly a defunct institution and the FBI has gone from the Premiere law enforcement agency to the laughing stock of the world. 

It's the President's most important job to protect Americans. And I'm sorry but that means all Americans. The right will say, "these things take time", well it's been 4 years already. It's time for the President of the United States of America to DO HIS JOB.

There is a conservative writer who is a lawyer and former Army colonel by the name of Kurt Schlichter.  He recently wrote a detailed article ("Why Trump Doesn't Just 'Send in the Troops') explaining why it is frequently a very difficult situation to send in National Guardsmen; especially in places like Portland where local officials don't want the Guard coming in and establishing order.

 

He explains the matter much better than I can.
