A list of 200 figures accused of corruption and murder is being prepared by the demonstrators for the American Treasury. Who is on this list?

Policy  ,   03/1920 2020 00:09

Baghdad - Iraq today:

Protesters are likely to go ahead with the selection of a new prime minister, without looking at the protest arenas, while some activists have begun a massive move to internationalize the crisis of protests and file a complaint against more than 200 political figures to international destinations.

The list includes the names of characters accused of killing the demonstrators.

But other protesters expressed rejection of this behavior because it creates an excuse for foreign intervention in Iraq, if the matter is taken seriously.

It is assumed that Monday, March 16, 2020, the second constitutional deadline, for the appointment of a prime minister to replace the former commissioner, Mohammed Allawi, who failed to persuade the parliament.

The protest movement in the country is facing the most difficult moments since its launch about 5 months ago, due to the spread of the "Corona" virus, and the Authority's attempt to break up the demonstrations on the pretext of blocking the epidemic.

It was noted that the number of protesters decreased in Tahrir Square, in the center of the capital, in conjunction with the high numbers of injuries and deaths recorded in Iraq.

But protesters explained the decline in numbers, in relation to the ongoing political stalemate in the country, following the withdrawal of the former commissioner to form the government, Mohammed Allawi, and the non-nomination of a replacement.

The protest squares are preparing, according to activists, to escalate the demonstrations in the event that the political forces return to the "scenario" of forming Allawi's mandate, whose government did not see the light.

Protesters have resorted, in the past three months, to following the "tactic" of calling the million, on occasions such as Women's Day, or recalling victims, to restore momentum to the arenas.

Activists say to the media, that a preliminary list has been issued with a number of figures within the political class that ruled Iraq after 2003, accused of corruption and violations of human rights, will be submitted to the American treasury. Activist Muhannad al-Baghdadi said, "The first list, which includes 50 names out of 240 names, will be submitted to the US Treasury."

The "American Treasury" had issued a list at previous times, bearing the names of politicians and leaders of armed factions in Iraq, and said it would "restrict the movement of their money around the world."

The activist adds, "The list includes the names of two former prime ministers, deputies, ministers and their children, along with the names of directors and agents, and directors of responsible offices."

The former deputy, example of Al-Alusi, had said in a statement to the media, that there is a list that includes about "100 Iraqi personalities," including former prime ministers and ministers and sons of officials accused of squandering billions of dollars in Iraqi money. The money and put it in the account of Iraq.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump threatened to take the money of Iraq to the United States if Baghdad refused to pay the costs of building the military base in Iraq, referring to "Ein al-Assad" west of Anbar, if Iraq requested the departure of foreign forces.

Trump said in his last meeting, that Iraq has "35 billion dollars" in the United States, which he will use if his country is forced to withdraw troops without payment.

But Iraqi money in Washington may be greater than the amount Trump mentioned. According to leaks, "the money of politicians abroad amounts to more than 500 billion dollars."

Demonstrators, the statements of the United Nations representative in Iraq, Jenin Hennes Blackshart, about the crisis of protests, explained to the UN Security Council that it strengthens the position of the demonstrators from internationalizing the issue of the protests, to stop "the killing of power by the demonstrators."

In her briefing to the UN Security Council, Blackshart said that the security image in Iraq is "complex and difficult to manage", adding: "We have seen armed entities that have been identified with ambiguity and have unclear loyalties, and we have seen groups or individuals take advantage of the cover of peaceful demonstrators and security forces to disrupt matters and mislead the public ..." . According to activists, politicians and jurists are reaching out to the European Parliament and US officials to internationalize the protests.

The 16 countries in the world condemned the end of January 2020, the continued violence in Iraq, while calling on the Iraqi government to respect the right to protest and to reveal those involved in the killing of demonstrators.

Since the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Allawi’s announcement, in early March, his withdrawal from the task of forming the government, the protest squares are discussing its role in the next stage.

Ideas were put forward in the direct intervention of the protesters in choosing a prime minister, calling for early elections, and the dismissal of the Presidents of Parliament and the Republic.

And names were leaked during the past days, names had been presented earlier, before assigning Allawi, and the demonstrators put their pictures (X) in reference to their refusal.

Days ago, the protesters held banners bearing pictures of Abdul-Mahdi, saying "Your return is unsuccessful, unsuccessful."

In contrast, the former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, in the context of the "candidates bazaar", seemed to be in harmony with the demonstrators' calls to form a government with limited powers to run the country in the next stage. Al-Abadi presented a new initiative last week, which includes forming an independent "mini" government that does not exceed one year old, with the participation of activists, as well as forming joint committees of "demonstrators, UNAMI and the government."

Activists and observers have interpreted the initiative of the President of the victory coalition, as an attempt to present himself as an alternative to Allawi.

A few days ago, a spokeswoman for the victory coalition, Ayat Al-Mudhafar, revealed that Abadi had made one condition in exchange for the prime minister receiving again, that he be a candidate from the protesters.

A short time ago, the Federal Court granted the President of the Republic the exclusive right to assign a new candidate without consulting the political blocs.

Policy  ,   03/16/2020 23:29

Baghdad - Iraq today:

A source in the Federal Court confirmed the issuance of a decision granting the President of the Republic the right to commission the formation of the government.

The source said that "the Federal Court received from the parties concerned, a request to interpret the text of Article 76 of the Constitution regarding the formation of the government, and after the deliberative meeting, I interpreted the legal text, by granting the President of the Republic the right to assign a person to head the government."

The leader of the Al-Hikma Movement, Ammar Al-Hakim, announced earlier today, the withdrawal of his movement from the task of choosing the Prime Minister, attributing this to "reservations on political accounts that do not take the interests of Iraq and the Iraqis into consideration."

Al-Hakim said in a statement, “Because of our refusal to remain in the equation of delay and our reservations on political accounts that do not take into consideration the best interests of Iraq and the Iraqis, and do not take into account the current circumstances the country is going through, we decided not to interfere in the task of choosing the names of the candidates for prime minister for the stage Transition anymore. ”

Al-Hakim pointed out, "Entering the national wisdom stream was to find a way out for political closure and disrupting people's interests, and from here we renew our demand that the next candidate's mission be confined to the framework of restoring the state's prestige and preparing for early elections during this year."

At a time when political and popular circles were awaiting, the blocs agreed on a candidate to assign him to form the interim government, the Allies of Alliance announced the collapse of the negotiations of the Seven Committee.

The head of the coalition bloc, Nabil Al-Tarfi, said in a statement that "the Seven Committee did not reach an agreement to choose a candidate to assign him to form a government instead of the current resigned government."

The coalition sent a message to President of the Republic Barham Salih, saying: “The President of the Republic must exercise his constitutional powers by commission.”

For his part, former Deputy Prime Minister Bahaa Al-Araji revealed a "political trick" to pass about the prospective prime minister.

Al-Araji said in “Some political leaders have reached an incredible level of indifference in such difficult and critical circumstances that our Iraq and its people are going through. One of them suggested agreeing with one of the candidates to accept the assignment and then apologize for it with a view to winning 15 days again. Extra time to choose an agreed prime minister! ”

The International Monetary Fund’s Director-General, Kristalina Georgieva, today called on governments to take additional financial incentive measures to prevent the threat of the spread of the emerging Corona virus from causing long-term economic damage.

In a letter posted on the International Monetary Fund website, Georgieva said that the global lending bank has received requests from about 20 countries to finance the programs and will follow up on them in the coming days. She stressed that the International Monetary Fund is ready to give a trillion dollars from the treasury to lend and assist the 189 member states around the world. "As the virus spreads, the need for a coordinated and synchronized global financial stimulus increases over time," according to Reuters.

On the monetary policy front, Georgieva said central banks "must continue to support demand and boost confidence by easing financial conditions and ensuring credit flow into the real economy." According to the latest statistic, on Monday, the total number of Corona virus infections worldwide exceeded 170,000, while deaths due to the same virus exceeded 6500 deaths, and recovery cases reached more than 77,700 cases, while China remains at the top of the countries that suffer most from the disease, followed by Italy and Iran.

Rafhawi" from "the preachers" .. What do you know about Adnan Al-Zarfi, the candidate to form the government?

March 17, 2020

The seven-party committee formed to choose a government official was formed.

Ultra Iraq - Editorial Team

After the disintegration of the Seven Committee, political parties revealed that  Adnan al-Zarfi was tasked with forming the next government, on the eve of the expiry of the constitutional deadline

Frequent information leaked about the candidacy of Adnan Al-Zarfi to form the next government

But the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, did not announce the mandate officially, with information about the postponement of the announcement until the morning of Tuesday, March 17, amid great opposition from the Al-Fateh bloc and some parties loyal to Iran, including the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq movement

And al-Zafi, Adnan Abd al-Khudair Abbas Matar Al-Zarfi, was born in January 1966 in the city of Najaf, to Iraqi parents. He holds a doctoral degree from the University of Kufa, College of Jurisprudence

Al-Zrafi belonged to the Islamic Dawa Party in 1983, was arrested in 1988 and sentenced to life imprisonment, but he managed to escape in 1991 and participated in the popular uprising, then left the country to Rafha camp and remained there for three years, and from there he went to the United States of America, where he settled there Until the overthrow of the previous regime in 2003

Al-Zorfi founded the Iraqi Al-Wafa Movement in 2004, was a member of the Iraqi Reconstruction Authority team, and then took over the task of managing the Najaf Governorate in 2005, before he served as a member of the Governorate Council as head of the Al-Wafaa Bloc in 2006, then was appointed as an undersecretary for intelligence affairs in the Ministry of Interior until one year. 2009, before returning to Najaf in 2013 and 2015

Al-Zarfi belonged to the Dawa Party and fled to Rafha camp and from there to the United States of America

Al-Zrafi participated in the last elections in the victory coalition led by former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, and won a parliamentary capacity

The head of the Alliance Alliance, Nabil Al-Tarfi, announced on Monday, March 16, the suspension of his alliance's attendance at the meetings of the Seven Committee, which was formed to choose the Prime Minister, confirming that its work had ended in relation to the alliance, calling on the President of the Republic to exercise his constitutional powers by commission

After that, the head of the al-Hikma movement, Ammar al-Hakim, announced the withdrawal from the negotiations to choose the person in charge of forming the government. In a statement, Al-Hakim attributed the withdrawal to "a refusal to remain in the equation of delay, and reservations on political accounts that do not take into consideration the supreme interest of Iraq and the Iraqis, and do not take into account the current circumstances the country is going through", stressing that his current will not interfere in the task of choosing the names of candidates for the position of president Ministers are in transition anymore

In the midst of this turbulent atmosphere, the victory coalition announced its participation in meetings and consultations with political forces, community elites, and square activists in order to find a national solution to the current crisis, indicating that the characteristics of the taxpayer must meet the demands of the people, and at that time "it will not be an obstacle to any candidate for prime minister"

In exchange, the State of Law coalition led by Nuri al-Maliki, on Monday, 16 March, passed the failure of the negotiations of the Seven Committee, while he announced his refusal to assign any name without consensus

Al-Zorfi took several positions after 2003, most notably the governor of Najaf, and then won a seat in Parliament for the victory coalition in 2018.

It is noteworthy that the Shiite political forces, on March 10, reached a formula of advanced understanding regarding the selection of the candidate for prime minister by forming a seven-party committee that includes, Nabil Al-Tarfi, on the Alliance of Saeron, Adnan Fayhan on the Alliance of Al-Fateh, and Ahmad al-Fatlawi, the stream of wisdom. In the name of Al-Awadi for Al-Nasr coalition, in addition to Hassan Al-Sunaid for the rule of law, Haider Al-Fouadi, representative of the Atta Party and Abdul Hussein Al-Mousawi for the Al-Fadila party

However, the committee quickly disintegrated due to the insistence of five blocs, with the exception of others and wisdom, to proceed with entrusting Naim al-Sihal to form the interim governmen

A sentence of life, and he escaped from Abu Ghraib. Who is Adnan Al-Zarfi, charged with forming the government?

17th March, 2020

Signed President Barham Salih, on Tuesday, Adnan Al-Zrafi, from the "Victory" coalition led by Haider al-Abadi, to head the government. Who is Al-Zorfi?

Despite the criticisms recorded against Adnan al-Zorfi, being "not an English-speaking" and a former official in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, but for the past 5 months, he was the closest to the voice of the demonstrators, as Sadrists had previously accused him of "standing behind the protesters' rebellion in The street."

His full name, Adnan Abdul Khudair Abbas Matar Al Zarfi, was born in "Najaf", January 1966, from Iraqi parents who are also from Najaf. And his academic formation was religious in his entirety, at the University of Kufa, where he obtained a degree of "Bachelor", "Master" and Doctorate, in the field of Islamic jurisprudence.

His political past began with the regular work within the "Affiliation to the Islamic Dawa Party" party, which he joined in 1983, to enter a later stage between 1988 and 1991, as a prison in life imprisonment in the "Abu Ghraib" prison. But this punishment was not completed, as he was fleeing from "Abu Ghraib", in February 1991, following the chaos resulting from a "popular uprising", in Najaf, and he was the most prominent participant in it, and he was wounded three times. And by virtue of security follow-ups after his participation in the uprising, Al-Zarfi immigrated to the United States of America between 1994 and 2003, assuming that he acquired American citizenship there.

In 2004, he returned to Iraq and established the "Iraqi Wafa Movement", as a political interface seeking to participate in political life, after the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime. In 2006, he obtained the membership of the Najaf Provincial Council, and chaired the "Al-Wafa Bloc", for Najaf in the same year.

From 2006, he began holding security and consulting positions in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, where he held between 2006 and 2009 the position of Assistant Undersecretary for Intelligence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior. At the end of 2009, he returned to his previous position as governor of Najaf, and continued until 2015. On his political stances, Adel Al-Zarfi was known to defend Iraq’s independence from dependency abroad and to eliminate sectarian differences, which he says “does not define the basis of patriotism.” Al-Zrafi is known for his defense of the idea that "the Iraqis are more and the first people of the Gulf region and the Middle East, in the luxury of their oil wealth."

Where is the money printed?

The money is printed in the official government printing presses, which include the central exchange press, or the public minting and issuing of the product, and the printing process is done in a very private and confidential manner, and the cash authority determines its exchange rate after printing. Directly by linking it to a fixed value such as minerals such as gold, or hard foreign currency such as dollars or euros, and then the cash is issued for public trading through commercial terminals, until it reaches people and It's used in all public activities.
