Well...With the correct dosage of a few elements ( social democracy with welfare and att'n to the most important needs for the citizens plus capitalism...yes, I said it) it did work greatly in almost every country of Scandinavia...Infact citizens there kept voting social democracy for decades..They ( Countries and citizens) kept getting richer and had / have a super-high standard of living...

 

Lately this changed in some of those Countries...As it happened in most of Europe....A big right-wing wave of insatisfaction and intolerance ( for migrants, the left etc along with the birth of extreme far-right groups....outspoken nazis and such... and some politicians of course rode that wave...)

 

But for years and I think still now ....One or 2 or 3  among the Scandinavian Countries ( or many of them combined) is/ are  always  in the first positions when  it comes to the yearly worldwide list for Country /Countries  with the best quality of living.....Fact

Besides...it's true they have a high taxation...But the services Citizens get are top....Hospitals, schools, kindergartens, children-care money to the families, support for the un-employed and/or temporarily un-employed etc

Speaking of forms of socialism, it seems staunch pro life with no exception type folks have no stomach for Medicare for all....get that baby born and if he can't pay for his life saving treatment at an older age too bad.  Must be a money thing.

Evidently People in those nations have a different outlook when it comes to that.....They see everyday that their taxes pay back in great services and I'm sure they do pay their taxes willingly...Even the schoolbus is free ...Things work extremely well...They have ultra efficient  services

 

In many other Countries (including mine) we do ( at least many of us.....even if we have the highest tax evasion record) pay our fair share  and we see public serices most times are a joke...Then we also see scandals in Politics with a lot ( millions) of money paid off in bribes etc....And everything  ( in some parts of the Country at least) goes rotting away....We have most school buildings here which need a serious re-structuring work cos they are at risk, and hospitals, and prisons etc....

 

Since , for instance, public kindergartens are always full and booked for the next 2/3 years and People need a place for their kids as both parents  have to work ( of course) then they have to rely on private kindergartens which charge a lot of money...

 

We fail to see the good results of our tax money, which ( even if I do not condone it, infact I do condemn it, obviously) forces some Folks to evade taxes  ...Italy is mainly made by small entrepreneurs ( 4 to 10/12 workers)...There's few big stuff...those big industries usually do not have any issues in paying taxes...

 

Many times, due to our tax load, the little entrepreneur is kinda forced to choose ...paying the workers or evading some  tax? That's bad

 

Fact is that as usual the little fish are the only to pay ....Big financiers who do bad, wrongdoing, faking a society checking books, taking millions out of the Country etc....never are punished seriously

 

The tax paying is a cultural thing....if for years one didn't see anything coming their way in terms to a real aid to one's living...meaning good services .....It's going to be difficult  to make them understand tax paying is a good thing...When for many things you can only rely on private...Private clinics, kindergartens, schools, etc

That's why we need to remove those in Congress and the Senate who refuse to work for the people and never compromise.  The president is only the most powerful person in the world because of We the People allow it. The president is supposed to represent the people and the government is supposed to work for us. My uncle was a rocket scientist, and I was the first aviation mechanic in California’s history, to ace the Aviation Airframe & Power-plant, written and practiced exams.

At the end of the test, he tried to trick me with some crap that was in a plane crash. I was the only person to see through his trick.
