I would agree. This needs to RV and I am out. If the Security Council says we are out I would pack up and never return again. I rather look to alternative energy, do our own oil, or push deals in Central and South America.

Al-Kaabi said in an interview with Al-Masala that "Israel can take its decisions only with the support of America and if it is necessary to embarrass America," stressing that "Israel cares about its interests primarily and those of America in the second degree."

He explained that "the Zionist entity has already been defeated before the resistance factions and jihadist movements that resisted and broke the thorn of ISIS in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq."

He pointed out that "the harassment by Israel aims to create confusion in these countries to drag them to war, including targeting the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization in particular because it is the largest force in Iraq, which has been able with security forces to counter ISIL supported by Israel."

He pointed out that "Hezbollah managed to break Israel in the July 2009 war, and is trying to return to its prestige in this way."

He disclosed that "an enlarged meeting between the governments of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and the resistance factions to agree on swift action to reduce Israeli abuses, and this is inevitable."

Parliamentary defense calls for parliament and ministers to hold an emergency meeting after the new Israeli bombing in Qaim

Baghdad / Obelisk: Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, called on Sunday, August 25, 2019, to convene two emergency meetings of the Council of Ministers and the Council of Representatives to discuss the repercussions of the continued Zionist attacks on the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization via drones, calling for giving the green light to the popular crowd to hit those drones.

A member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Karim Eliwi, said that the Zionist escalation of drones will continue during the coming period and shift from targeting headquarters and wheels of the Popular Mobilization to targeting leaders and then the holy thresholds.

He added that the repeated Zionist shelling requires two urgent meetings of the House of Representatives and the Council of Ministers to discuss the repercussions of the bombing and take strict decisions and not to tolerate.

He called on the Prime Minister to give the green light to the leadership of the operations in the Popular Mobilization by hitting any aircraft flying over Iraqi airspace and headquarters of the Popular Mobilization did not get permission to fly over Iraqi airspace.

On Sunday, August 25, 2019, a drone targeted makeshift hardware stores in the Qaim district on the border with Syria. This repeated action was considered conclusive evidence that there were attempts to weaken the PMF, the statement said.

The Jazeera Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Authority, said that the aircraft carried out strikes on equipment stores belonging to the Brigade 45 in the district of Qaim, and is still hovering around his pieces.

It also confirmed the fall of a number of martyrs and wounded as a result of this bombing.

Arab media have reported that two vehicles belonging to the Popular Mobilization on the Iraqi-Syrian border were targeted by unknown drones.

The political analyst in the "obelisk" that Iraq must develop its air defenses and not rely on the international coalition and the United States in this area, and although such a project is difficult, but the will if available can achieve this.

Iraqi sovereignty options

Saleh Sheikh Khalaf

It seems that the Iraqi scene is approaching the Syrian scene not against the background of field developments, but against the backdrop of air campaigns that have been repeated over the past two months targeting some headquarters and weapons stores belonging to the Popular Mobilization, the last of which is the camp of Balad.
Although Defense Minister Najah al-Shammari said that he could not talk about these campaigns before completing the ongoing investigations, it became clear that US forces, in cooperation with Israel, were targeting the headquarters, especially after the statement issued by the deputy commander of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Mahdi. Al-Muhandes, in which he explicitly accused US forces of operating Israeli drones flying from a US camp in Iraqi Kurdistan. In addition, the charge d'affaires of the US embassy in Baghdad, Brian McVeiters, was summoned by the absence of the US ambassador from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to clarify the American position, especially since Baghdad has a strategic partnership agreement with Washington in the security and economic aspects.
So far, the situation is still confusing as to the limitation of responsibility. With the exception of what was issued by the deputy commander of the Popular Mobilization Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes and issued by the commander of the crowd Faleh Fayyad, who denied what his deputy said, there was no comment from the General Command of the armed forces concerned about this matter, which contributed to the continuation of speculation about the real party behind the bombing of weapons stores Affiliate of the Popular Mobilization.
Apart from those responsible, whether American or Israeli, directly or indirectly, but certainly these campaigns are linked to the repercussions of the escalation between Tehran and Washington, specifically the desire of the United States and Israel for what they call "Iranian nail" in Iraq, or, in other words, "cut off the Iranian hand in Iraq »whether military, security or economic. It is also linked to the repercussions of the "deal of the century," which US President Donald Trump wants to implement in the occupied Palestinian territories to end what is believed to be the Arab-Israeli conflict.
The fluidity of the official Iraqi position gives a justification to all internal and external parties to implement its agenda that does not serve the Iraqi interest, especially since Israel is now on the Iraqi line directly, as noted by Netanyahu Yahoo Prime Minister of the Zionist entity. While some circles are dealing cautiously with the US embassy in Baghdad for known reasons, but the attitude of Israel should be a deterrent and be within the red lines of the Iraqi government and the Iraqi party, religious and popular circles.
The intersection of interests inside Iraq does not serve the political process, nor does it serve the security and stability of Iraq. This understanding must be known to everyone because the continued fluidity in the official position negatively affects the position of the Iraqi government and the mechanism to deal with the developments of the candidate position to escalate, especially if there is a conflict in positions, as happened between the leaders of the Popular Mobilization on the responsibility of the executing party to hit the camps of the Popular Mobilization factions. The US position - as the important one in Iraq - is ambiguous. Pentagon spokesman Sean Robertson denied "any link to the United States with the recent explosions in a weapons cache in Iraq," while Western regional diplomatic sources confirmed the State Department sources denied that Israel was involved in air raids on the PMF headquarters. The US embassy in Baghdad leaked to friends that Israel was the culprit.
If the current US government has moved away from the Iraqi file for reasons related to the programs of US President Donald Trump and the mechanism of dealing with external files, this pressures the Iraqi reality to arrange his papers and arrange the house from the inside to face the challenges arising from it, especially in the military and security in the framework of understanding and unification of narratives Developments and a state of national responsibility away from narrow partisan and factional alignments.

  • yota691 changed the title to Barham Saleh calls on those close to Tehran to control their camps

%D8%A8%D8%B1%D9%87%D9%85-%D8%B5%D8%A7%D9

Iraqi President Barham Salih's belief in the possibility of establishing different foreign relations for Iraq based on not ditching in any of the competing axes of influence in the country, is strongly shaken under the threat of pro-Iranian Shiite militias, which reaffirmed that President Saleh's words about balance and self-esteem are merely unavoidable theorizing. To check on the ground.

BAGHDAD - The recent series of strikes on a number of PMU headquarters in Iraq, blamed on Israel and the United States, particularly Iraqi President Barham Saleh, is embarrassed not only by his close ties to Washington and his eagerness to maintain them and reconcile them with Baghdad. Necessary relations with Iranian loyalists inside Iraq who could not reach the office of the president without their consent, but also because of the blow up of threats by pro-Iranian Shiite militias to the United States, to Saleh's theories of balance and In other words, Iraq has avoided pivotal conflicts, a policy that has been heavily promoted since coming to the presidency and was believed to be progressing towards establishing them.

While Israel has stepped up its military action against the Iranian presence in the region, the Iraqi president sought to inform his country's politicians, who have close ties with Tehran, a message stating that "escalation is not in Baghdad's favor."

A series of bombings that hit a number of PMU weapons and munitions and acknowledged by the Iraqi government that they were carried out effectively led to a series of threats by pro-Iranian armed factions against US interests in Iraq.

These factions accused Washington of facilitating Israeli operations to bomb weapons and munitions of the Popular Mobilization, stressing that it would attack US targets in Iraq if its headquarters are subjected to new targeting. The deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Commission, Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, said the US military had brought four Israeli planes from Azerbaijan to Iraq to carry out bombardments against Iraqi headquarters.

The Hezbollah Brigades, the most militant faction in Iraq and the closest to Iran's Revolutionary Guards, said it would attack US interests in Iraq if the PMF headquarters were bombed again.

Letters to those close to Iran include fears of internal and external parties that Iraq could become a battleground between Tehran and Washington

But the threat of Iraqi militia leaders did not seem to have stopped Israel from continuing to target Iranian activities in the region through new raids in Syria.

"With its fighter jets, the IDF thwarted an Iranian attempt led by the Quds Force from Syria to attack Israeli targets in northern Israel using lethal drones," said Israeli military spokesman Jonathan Conricus.

Conricus said that the Israeli attack targeted a number of terrorist targets and military installations of the Quds Force and Shiite militias, in the area of Aqraba in southeastern Damascus.

The term "Shiite militias" is often used to describe Iraqi fighters operating under Iranian forces in Syria.

This is not the first time that Iraqi forces in Syria have been subjected to Israeli shelling, but the first time the operation has been officially adopted by Tel Aviv.

In the clearest indication of Israel's indirect adoption of military operations against Iraqi Shiite militias allied to Iran in Syria and Iraq, Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz said Israel's operation on Syrian territory was "intended to convey a message to Tehran that it has no immunity anywhere."

"Had it not been for Israeli activities in recent years, the number of Iranian fighters in Syria would have reached 100,000," he said. Katz did not acknowledge reports of Israeli operations inside Iraq. "We work in different places," he said. Over the past two days, Baghdad appeared to be on the verge of a slide toward war between Israel and Iran's proxies in Iraq.

Iraqi President Barham Saleh has been trying to secure assurances from politicians close to Tehran that they will control their camp and absorb the support of Hamas.

After meeting with Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and Parliament Mohammed Halbousi and issuing a statement in support of the government's efforts to extend its decision on the Popular Mobilization Forces, Saleh met with the leader of the State of Law Nuri al-Maliki and the leader of the conquest coalition Hadi al-Amiri, close to Iran.

Saleh spoke with al-Maliki and al-Amiri on the "rejection of the policy of axes, and the need to distance the country from the arena to settle accounts," stressing "the need to adhere to the position of the Iraqi state with its various executive and legislative institutions in upholding the constitutional principles and the adoption of legal contexts in dealing with crises, and not to accept The country is an arena of conflict and rivalry for other countries. ”

While calling for "joint action for peace, development, progress and regional cooperation," Saleh pointed to "the importance of completing the ongoing investigation by the competent national authorities in the data on the recent bombings of weapons stores to come up with a unified position that preserves the rights of Iraq and enhances its security, independence and sovereignty."

The Iraqi president's speech appeared to contain explicit messages to those closest to Tehran, including the fears of internal and external parties that Iraq could become a battleground between Iran and the United States.

He did not rule out close to the Iraqi president to convey American messages to Iran's allies in Iraq, warning them against targeting US interests in this country. This reading is based on the reality of the close relationship between the Iraqi president and senior administration officials.

These messages, along with the military messages carried by the Israeli bombardment of the movements of Iranian forces and Iraqi militias in Syria and the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization in Iraq, can lead the Iranians to disclose the truth of their intentions and whether they are planning a military confrontation.

But observers talk about "limited options" in front of Iran if it wants to respond inside Iraq, the US embassy in Baghdad no longer only includes 15 people after serving three thousand employees at times, which limits the value of targeting, while the US military presence is close to Iraqi forces This is difficult to target, which is likely to limit the Iranian response to media positions.

Al-Jazeera sources reported that six members of the Popular Mobilization Forces, including a leader, were killed in an air strike on the headquarters of the crowd in Al-Qaim city near the Iraqi-Syrian border.

The same sources pointed out that the aerial bombardment was carried out by three Israeli aircraft, two of them march and another fighter, and targeted two vehicles and a warehouse of equipment.

The Anbar Operations Command in the Popular Mobilization, which includes Shi'ite factions, said two of the group's 45 fighters were killed and another wounded as a result of the shelling.

The Popular Mobilization Group, for the first time, officially accused Israel of being behind the attack. The troops said that "within the series of Zionist targets for Iraq, the Israeli crows again targeted the Popular Mobilization, this time through two planes marching deep into Iraqi territory in Anbar province."

Abu Walaa al-Wala'i, secretary-general of the Sayyed al-Shuhada Brigades, one of the Popular Mobilization factions in Iraq, said 13 Hashd camps had been bombed in just one year.

Al-Wala'i said in a statement to al-Jazeera that the drones had been hovering around the camp for more than a month before the explosion, and that he informed the national security and the Popular Mobilization Authority.

He said that the bombing of the camp "Saqr" was targeting equipment belonging to the crowd by an air strike carried out by drones, according to the Commission of Inquiry and evidence.

He revealed that the missiles in the camp did not exceed a range of 20 kilometers, and was used in the war against ISIS, stressing that Israel is trying to hit the infrastructure of the Popular Mobilization, which it considers the arm of Iran in Iraq.

Procedures, measures and
dissemination of the Popular Mobilization through his account on the "Telegram" pictures showing the burning vehicles and has been heavily damaged.

The 45th Brigade and several other brigades belong to the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades, which the United States lists as "foreign terrorist organizations."

The strike comes after weeks of ambiguity surrounding explosions in missile stores belonging to the Popular Mobilization in Iraq, and the latter blamed the United States for its responsibility, alluding to Israel's involvement.

Four bases used by the Popular Mobilization have been hit by mysterious explosions in recent weeks, the latest of which was Tuesday at a headquarters near Balad Air Base, where a US force is stationed north of Baghdad.

There were reports of Israeli involvement in these operations, without any direct accusation being made in this regard and without any claim of responsibility.

The Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi issued a decision a few days ago to "cancel all approvals for aviation in Iraqi airspace, whether from reconnaissance, armed reconnaissance, fighter planes, helicopters, and drones of all kinds, to all Iraqi and non-Iraqi."

I think mostly, Iraq was concerned about refueling ground support. They said they thought the US permitted them to use one of our bases because its too far to fly and return without refueling. Not that I support this belief, just repeating what I remember in one of the articles.

Thanks, as always Yota.

US analysis warns of "big war" in the region launched by Iraq "barrel of gunpowder"

 2019/08/26 08:47:00

The American Center Stratfor warned that the recent Israeli air strikes on military bases of the pro-Iranian Popular Mobilization factions in Iraq herald a major war in the region.
The Center noted that there are reasons that may make Iraq the next barrel of gunpowder in the region, pointing out that Israel has a strong military motivation to bomb such sites as long as Iran seeks to transfer some of its weapons to Iraq after the successive strikes on its equipment in Syria.
The Center justified in a lengthy analytical article that Israel launched these attacks in order to prevent these reinforcements from being a reliable deterrent in a new theater of operations other than the Lebanese front in which Tel Aviv confronts Hezbollah fighters.
It should be noted that explosions sounded inside four bases used by the Popular Mobilization in recent weeks, the latest on Sunday, and targeted two wheels him in the city of Al-Qaim, Anbar province near the Iraqi-Syrian border;
In addition to the military motive, there is a political motive behind the strikes, according to the Center, the aspiration of the ruling Likud bloc to win the general elections to be held on September 17.

Serious repercussions
but the center warns again that the feet of Israel to expand its military operations will have serious repercussions on Iraq and the United States, Iran and Israel itself, because it will transfer the fighting to Iraqi territory; which would raise internal political problems may affect Baghdad 's foreign relations.
The site expects that such a scenario, if realized, will lead to the unification of Iraqis of all kinds of political spectrum to pressure Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to prevent Israeli violations of Iraqi national sovereignty.
Such pressure will exacerbate the volatility and turmoil in the Iraqi political system, creating problems for Baghdad with two capitals it does not want to get away from - Washington and Tehran.
Some circles in Iraq will, in this case, seek to punish the United States, as long as they cannot reciprocate directly against Israel, and this would confuse the US security relationship with that Arab state; Anti-Washington and Israeli forces inside Iraq.
Retaliatory operations will not be limited to US targets in Iraq alone, but will also extend to other countries, such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, which seek closer rapprochement with Israel.
If Iraqi anger against Israel rages to the point of launching attacks on US troops or materiel, any US retaliation could drag Iran into a proxy conflict and lead to a broader war between the United States and Iran.
On the other hand, Israel's success in expanding its operations to Iraq would make it bolder in implementing its anti-Iranian strategy, especially since it currently enjoys strong support from the White House.
Israel may consider "more aggressive" action against Iran in areas far beyond Iraq. One option may be to conduct intelligence operations in Yemen, where the Houthis have become part of Iran's strategy in the region.
