He was already discredited by his own actions. He was a scumbag lawyer that did what he did unethically speaking because he COULD do it. He has twice been convicted for lying to Congress because he felt he COULD do it and get away with it . Likely because of his testimony yesterday he will be convicted a 3rd time for lying to Congress for when he testified he never wanted to be part of the Whitehouse Staff. Likely Congressman E Cummings and others will be investigated and convicted for witness tampering when they prepped Cohen prior to his testimony yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Going so far as doing a Donna Brazille and giving him the questions that were going to be asked of him. Witness tampering is a crime, thereby witness prep is a CRIME and a ethics violation, as they were wanting to steer his "testimony" to fit their narrative regardless if their narrative was created or not. A CRIME. A CRIME. A CRIME.

We shall see, Kevin....time will tell.  A couple things are for certain though, our congress is a microcosm of our country, deeply divided.....and I'm starting to sense that cornered animal desperation from the Right wing....their indignation is getting louder and more erratic, and their soap boxes grow taller every day.  As I've said before, it's pretty difficult to discredit a man who was thought so highly of that he remained a close Trump employee and confidant for 10 plus years by a man who professes to hire only the best and brightest.  That's quite a fish hook to remove in the grand scheme of things.  As always, just my opinion

No. It is not.

It is anger at an attempted coup, an admitted attempted coup and no one in a position to do anything about it is reacting.

People in the past have been executed for doing this in secret and we now have people admitting it in public and they are going on book tours.

our congress is a microcosm of our country, deeply divided

End Quote

That's in my Country as well ( in most Countries I'd guess).... Congress ( Camera dei Deputati) & Senate represent here the best  (not too much apparently) and the worst (a lot, sadly) of Italians.....It looks like we are that stuff...I do not like that thought, honestly...But the politicians are usually  the expression of a  society w the good, the bad  & the ugly.....

Screams, making fun ( heavily and grossly at times)  of political adversaries (and a good dose of sexism too) etc.....Happens almost daily here.....A (very) few times they even got physical....Huge shame.....

Those elected politicians should be indicated as an example for the common  people.....And the further issue is that we do pay them a lot ( I think our system is the one paying  Congress & Senate members the highest in Europe...or at least one of the Countries paying its political class the highest)

Sorry Shabs....As usual I'm out of pluses......

Just to be clear.....the Founding Fathers intended Article II, Section 4 to be fail-safe against a "duly" elected President of the United States who meets the parameters of said Article II, Section 4.  Just because his supporters are angry and don't believe he has committed bribery or treason or "high crimes and misdemeanors" doesn't mean it isn't true and doesn't make it a coup either.......besides, we're not there yet.

No different when HRC was getting grilled and the Dems were desperate to cottle her with puff speeches

The Reps are getting exactly what they deserve for allowing the Mueller charade to continue, even after it was pretty obvious the entire Investigation was bogus.  They sat back and let it go on and on.  Shabbs I know you are delighted with all the drama but you know HRC or Barry couldn’t stand up to the inquisition that Trump has had to endure.  You should be very very worried about losing the country you defended.  A dual Judicial System and the continued breaking of our laws by the Dems will not end well.

That’s pretty much my point. Why haven’t those murders been investigated.  Why don’t we haul HRC’s attorneys in before an all  Republican Special Investigation and sweat them.  That would be about as entertaining as what’s going on now on Capitol Hill. Maybe the parents of the murdered people would finally get some Justice

This coup was in place before he was even elected.. He was found guilty before a trial and an attempt to remove him through bad, ugly press and high placed DOJ official conspiring to get him out of office with an illegal FISA and a paid opposition, false dossier.

A conspiracy to commit a coup.

Treason in my book.

Whether he committed some of the other crimes is another matter. You refuse to address this issue.

Plenty of high ranking Dems and DOJ officials have stated it was made up.

Comey lied to a FISA court to get  illegal surveillance on a presidential candidate and to get him thrown out.

Treason again.

I hoping that Q, Anom, and X-22 reports are on to something when they say that Pres. Trump wants an air tight case before he moves on the most expansive global criminal cabal in history....my money is on the prez.

I hear you on that Shabs. Time will tell where all this leads to. Congress may be a microcosm of our country, but facts remain that our country has been divide for the past 10 years. It will likely remain divided as the Ultra Left dominate/reshape the DNC. The rumbles of Socialism were introduced during POTUS Obama administration. Socialism is now seeded into our pitical system and society thanks to him and the "liberal" professors in our nations colleges and universities. It ramped up facade is do to a few things. 1st, woops! What ? HRC and the Dems didn't win the last election . Placing a foil through the heart of their plans to Socialize the USA. Additionally, they see that no longer will they be able to legislate through the courts with all of Trumps Constitutional candidates being admitted to various Judgeships around the country. No longer will they be able to sue and get around the will of the people and or Congress and Senate. They fear , fear what will happen should RBG retire or pass away. The fight will go on mainly because the Dems who like rules and laws as long as said rules/laws serve them. With RBG death or retirement they likely will need to delay their plans for USA domination for 50 years to a century from now. They deserve such a fate for ignoring the will and input of the people in the middle of this heartland. As they also try and ignore the foresight of our Founding Fathers to place the influence of large and heavily populated states on a level field with those smaller or less populated states. The 2020 elections will tell it all. Especially if the Republicans regain the House and maintain their position in the Senate. If Trump wins 2020 you owe my wife and I the best steak dinner in the US. If he looses I owe you and yours. Peace.

Rep. Matt Gaetz says he personally apologized to Michael Cohen after tweeting apparent threat

Rep. Matt Gaetz said he's since "personally apologized" to President Donald Trump's former personal attorney Michael Cohen after the Florida Republican tweeted an apparent threat the day before Cohen's testimony before Congress.

"I’ve personally apologized to @MichaelCohen212 4 referencing his private family in the public square," Gaetz tweeted late Wednesday. "Regardless of disagreements, family members should be off-limits from attacks from representatives, senators & presidents, including myself. Let’s leave the Cohen family alone."

Gaetz's original Tuesday tweet, which has now been deleted, was directed at Cohen.

"Do your wife & father-in-law know about your girlfriends?" Gaetz wrote. "Maybe tonight would be a good time for that chat. I wonder if she’ll remain faithful when you’re in prison. She’s about to learn a lot ... "

The post drew a call for an ethics violation, allegations he was attempting to intimidate a witness and an investigation by the Florida Bar.

I’ve personally apologized to @MichaelCohen212 4 referencing his private family in the public square. Regardless of disagreements, family members should be off-limits from attacks from representatives, senators & presidents, including myself. Let’s leave the Cohen family alone.

The Florida Bar said in a statement that an investigation was opened after at least one complaint was made about Gaetz, who is a member of the organization.

"The Florida Bar is aware of the comments made in a tweet yesterday by Rep. Matt Gaetz, who is a Florida Bar member, and I can confirm we have opened an investigation," said Francine Andía Walker, a spokeswoman for the Florida Bar.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., cautioned lawmakers to be mindful of social media posts as they could interfere with a committee's ability to glean truthful information.

Gaetz then apologized over Twitter, saying "it was NOT my intent to threaten."

Speaker, I want to get the truth too. While it is important 2 create context around the testimony of liars like Michael Cohen, it was NOT my intent to threaten, as some believe I did. I’m deleting the tweet & I should have chosen words that better showed my intent. I’m sorry.

Gaetz, a staunch defender of Trump, was in the room at the start of Cohen's hearing, during which Cohen fielded questions from the House Oversight and Reform Committee. Gaetz stood stone-faced along the wall on the Republican side of the room as Cohen described his 24-year marriage, his wife and two children.

Cohen presented a scathing view of his former boss during the hourslong hearingand called Trump a "cheat" and a "con man." He also tied the White House more directly than ever to criminal investigations that have shadowed Trump's presidency.

Fox News Host Calls Out Rep. Jim Jordan For Cherry-Picking Michael Cohen's Testimony

5bb2ae80-ff0b-11e8-bedd-debb01b5e5ed
Hayley Miller  February 28, 2019

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) faced a thorny line of questioning from Fox News host Bret Baier following Michael Cohen’s explosive testimony before the House oversight committee on Wednesday.

Baier called out the committee’s top Republican for repeatedly attacking the credibility of Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, without addressing the “substance” of his testimony.

“I think the first takeaway is Michael Cohen is delusional,” Jordan told Baier. “I don’t know you can take much of what he says at any real value.”

Baier doesn't let Jordan off the hook, repeatedly pushes about his lines of questioning at Cohen hearing

Jordan and his fellow Republicans on the committee repeatedly pointed out during the hearing Wednesday that Cohen is facing prison time for pleading guilty last year to several charges, including lying to Congress.

Meanwhile, Democrats used their time to learn more about Cohen’s claim that Trump is a racist “conman” who frequently directed him to lie, including about alleged hush payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.

“What about the specifics on the ‘hush payments’ as he called them?” Baier asked Jordan. “What was your take on that?”

Jordan danced around the question, noting there wasn’t anything new in Cohen’s testimony and trying to steer the conversation toward what he called Democrats’ “crazy impeachment plans.”

Baier then played a clip of Chris Christie, the former New Jersey governor and failed 2016 Republican presidential candidate, discussing Cohen’s testimony on ABC News.

“There hasn’t been one Republican yet who has tried to defend the president on the substance,” Christie had said. “I think that’s something that should be concerning to the White House.”

Jordan, in response, told Baier that one GOP committee member had questioned Cohen about the legality of the alleged hush payments.

“But the bottom line is, how can you trust anything this individual has to say?” he said.

Baier continued to press Jordan to comment on Cohen’s actual claims instead of attempting to undermine his credibility:

What about the specifics? I mean, I understand all of your points about credibility. I understand all of the things about undermining his veracity. He is a flawed, flawed witness. But what about the substance? I mean, the president writing a check to him while president for these payments, these 11 payments, that he says were to pay off stormy Daniels, and the other woman. Is that not true?

Jordan claimed the payments were simply meant to retain Cohen and didn’t seem abnormal.

“I don’t think that’s unusual,” Jordan told Baier. “My guess is there’s all kinds of companies, all kinds of individuals, who have a similar type of relationship.”

Baier pointed out that Cohen said he wasn’t specifically aware of any collusion between Trump and Russia and testified that he had never been to Prague, a statement some Republicans claimed disproved the infamous dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele. The dossier, which alleged Russia had blackmail on Trump, claimed Cohen was in or near the Czech capital in 2016.

“But you said his credibility is shot, right?” Baier asked Jordan.

“Well, every once in a while you’ll get some truth from some people,” the Republican lawmaker responded, prompting laughter from Baier.

It started before the election and carried on into his term.

The FISA was illegal used to spy on a US citizen and an attempt to influence an election.

The vary same crime POTUS is being accused of, The accusers claiming abuse of the system are in fact abusers of the system.

You go ahead and ignore it because you hate the man. That fact does not negate the other illegal activities you wish to ignore.

By refusing to give a viable response to my post above you indicate that you do give the new Democratic Socialist Party in the Senate a pass on their willingness to murder infants. You have lost all credibility here. It is truly sad the depths the Democratic Socialists will go just to get their way. But what you fail to understand is the lengths that God will go to bring Justice.
