Iraqi activists mocked the news saying that Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is ready to invest $1 billion for reviving the infrastructure in Iraq.

They said that the $1-billion investment would be an investment in terrorist activities.

Referring to Doha's role in sending huge funds to Iraq for militias to allegedly freeing the Qatari royal hostages, the activists said that the alleged investments will be for the same purpose.

They said that Doha is planning to send $1 billion to Iran's militias in Iraq, in the pretext of investing in infrastructure, adding that Doha knows that IMIS offices are controlling the economic situation.

In an odd move, President Barham Salih visited Doha past Thursday, on top of a government delegation.

Tamim received Salih, who has paid a visit last week to Ankara to meet with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyib Erdogan.

During the meeting, Tamim renewed his country’s support to Iraq on political and security levels, asserting his serious will to develop the Qatari-Iraqi relations and boosting Iraq’s stability and prosperity.

Halboosi's plan

Many Iraqi observers thought that the reconstruction plan proposed by Parliament Speaker Mohamed al-Halboosi to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during the latter's visit to Iraq is just a malicious plan to use the US money in other evil fields.

told Pompeo earlier that the only solution to re-impose security, especially in the Sunni areas, and to combat ISIS is to give the Iraqi government the reconstruction funds. He also demanded that American and international companies invest in Iraq.

Observers said that this deceptive plan will not be able this time to fool the Sunni Iraqis. They stressed that Halboosi and the Iranian government want to obtain the reconstruction funds to allocate them, according to the Qatari-Iranian plan, to ISIS and the White Flags group.

Restoring security and stability in Iraq can be achieved by working to build a new administrative area for Sunni Iraqis and forming an international committee to receive the reconstruction funds, observers said, adding that the committee should not hand the funds to any Iraqi official.

They added that all Iraqi officials now follow the Iranian-Qatari axis.

Saleh from France demands the restoration of looted Iraqi monuments

The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, on Monday called on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in France to help Iraq restore its looted monuments, while calling for the city of Babylon to be placed on the World Heritage List.

"Iraq needs to intensify UNESCO's support for a number of its files and in various sectors, especially in the recovery phase," Saleh said during a meeting with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay.

"The importance of the organization's support for culture and education in Iraq and its help to restore its looted effects," Saleh said, praising the role of the organization in "the inclusion of marshes in the World Heritage List and launching it initiative to revive the spirit of Mosul.

The President called on UNESCO to "urge countries to participate in archaeological discoveries during the next phase and to put the ancient city of Babylon on the World Heritage List and the need for the Organization to develop curricula in Iraqi schools in accordance with modern methods and the adoption of digital software."

For her part, Azoulay stressed "the readiness of the organization to support Iraq in cultural and educational fields, restore its looted monuments, preserve its historical heritage and share its cadres in exploration and discovery."

The statement added that "the meeting discussed the efforts of the international organization in the areas of literacy and the exploitation of its expertise in this regard, providing opportunities for workers in the scientific research sector and developing plans and programs to address problems in water resources and the environment and the development of education and grant priority to researchers in scholarships, To discuss increasing the employment opportunities of Iraqi employees in the organization as well as other countries, as well as Iraq's involvement in the programs of UNESCO and its partners in the field of artificial intelligence and other modern programs.

Alsumaria News / Baghdad   The office of President Barham Saleh said Tuesday that the latter returned to Baghdad.   "President Barham Saleh returned to Baghdad this evening after a visit to Egypt and France," the office said in a statement received by Alsumaria News.   "Saleh delivered the speech of Iraq at the Arab-European summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh in the presence of the leaders of more than 50 countries, as well as holding many meetings and bilateral consultations with heads of Arab and international delegations participating in the summit," he added.         "During Saleh's visit to Paris, he met with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macaron and senior French officials at the Elysee Palace and discussed ways of developing bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
