Global Business Technology Association ISACA Welcomes New Chapter in Baghdad

Schaumburg, IL, USA (16 July 2018) – Information technology professionals in Baghdad, Iraq, have formed a new chapter of ISACA, a global professional association serving more than 130,000 members who work in the areas of information technology audit, assurance, governance, risk and cybersecurity. The ISACA Baghdad Chapter has more than 40 members at its start and is among more than 220 ISACA chapters around the globe.

ISACA Baghdad Chapter President Ali Hasan said the Baghdad chapter will build a network of information security professionals who will be leaders of cybersecurity awareness throughout the country.

“The shortage in information security specialists is huge,” said Hasan. “With support from ISACA and the Central Bank of Iraq, we were able to form this chapter to be a major factor to help fill that gap and build a network of information security professionals who will become cybersecurity leaders throughout the country.”

The local business community, government, university students and others will benefit from ISACA’s resources and guidance, said Hasan, including its certifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
  • Cybersecurity Nexus Practitioner (CSXP)

The new chapter was formed in part to encourage open exchange of approaches to information systems audit and control, problem solving strategies, and quality assurance, according to Hasan.

“Having an ISACA chapter here provides the opportunity and foundation for strong governance in Iraq,” said Hasan. “Our members will benefit from the educational resources related to their professional fields, and their organizations will benefit from their skills and expertise.”

ISACA offers credentialing, education, guidance for IT security, assurance, risk and governance professionals. The association established its Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX) to address the global cybersecurity skills shortage and to help organizations develop strong cybersecurity workforces in addition to COBIT, a business framework that helps organizations govern and manage their information and technology.

      From  "Suddance" 1978

This one and the next clip containing more songs are all sung in Neapolitan dialect...Unable so far to find an online translation

      Review by andrea
In 1977, after the negative experiences of Uno and Città Frontale, founder members Lino Vairetti, Danilo Rustici and Massimo Guarino reformed Osanna with a new line up featuring Enzo Petrone on bass and Fabrizio D'Angelo Lancellotti on keyboards and synthesizers. "Suddance" was released in 1978, when the Halcyon Days of prog were coming to an end... This album could be very disappointing for old fans since Osanna here were trying to find a new musical direction blending rock, soul and jazz with the traditions of Naples, but in my opinion the result is not bad at all...

"Suddance" is very different from Osanna's early works (the album features also some guest musicians like Benni Caiazzo on sax and Antonio Spagnolo on electric violin), nonetheless here you can find at least one outstanding track, the suggestive and melancholic "A zingara" (The Gipsy woman) featuring a mysterious mood... Lyrics are sung in the dialect of Naples and describe the desperate life of gipsy woman with "music and hope in her heart" who is rejected by the society... "She's a gipsy and she causes fear / That's why everybody avoids her in the street / She is so desperate to bang her head against the wall / But every time she asks for help people pretend they don't see her..."...

There are other good tracks, like the opener "Ce vulesse" and the instrumental title track, more in a jazz rock vein, or the long and desperate "Chiuso qui" (the only one sung in Italian and featuring "claustrophobic" lyrics that describe the feelings of an inmate)... However, the overall sound is closer to the genre that is known as "Neapolitan Power" (very successful in the early Eighties and spearheaded by Pino Daniele) than to the peculiar prog of the early Osanna albums...

Although it is not an essential album, at length "Suddance" is a good work released by an excellent group of musicians who were trying to explore new musical paths to go further... It's a pity that they had to stop!

Quando la sera me ne torno a casa
When I come home in the evening
non ho neanche voglia di parlare
I'm not even in the mood to talk
tu non guardarmi con quella tenerezza
Don't look at me with that tenderness
come fossi un bambino che ritorna deluso
like a child that comes back disappointed
si lo so che questa non è certo la vita
Yes, I know this surely ain't the life
che hai sognato un giorno per noi
you once dreamed about for us
      vedrai, vedrai
      you'll see, you'll see
      vedrai che cambierà
      you'll see it will change
      forse non sarà domani
      maybe not tomorrow
      ma un bel giorno cambierà
      but someday it will change

      vedrai, vedrai
      you'll see, you'll see
      non son finito sai
I am not done here, you know
non so dirti come e quando
I don't know how or when
      ma vedrai che cambierà
but you'll see it will change
      preferirei sapere che piangi
      I'd rather know you're crying
che mi rimproveri di averti delusa
than to reproach me that I've let you down
e non vederti sempre così dolce
and not to see you this sweet again
accettare da me tutto quello che viene
      accepting anything coming from me
mi fa disperare il pensiero di te
I get crazy thinking of you
e di me che non so darti di più
and thinking that I don't know how to give you more
      vedrai, vedrai
      you'll see, you'll see
      vedrai che cambierà
      you'll see it will change
      forse non sarà domani
      maybe not tomorrow
      ma un bel giorno cambierà
      but someday it will change
      vedrai, vedrai
      you'll see, you'll see
      no, non son finito sai
      no, I'm not done here
non so dirti come e quando
I don't know how or when
      ma un bel giorno cambierà.
      but someday it will change.
