The killing of the organization "Daesh" Iraqi journalists working for the channel, "Salah al-Din here" in the village south of Mosul, according to a statement channel Friday.

He pointed out that the conference "will examine post-Daesh and re-displaced people and the stability of those areas, while the Preparatory Committee for the Conference will guide official invitations for the three presidencies in addition to the personalities involved in this conference."

Close to Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, a government source said that the latter has three scenarios for the date of announcement of a complete victory for the city of Mosul, but waiting for any scenarios that will be approved by the US side.

The source said in a telephone call to the news that Furat al-Abadi is likely to declare complete victory this evening and then announce the launch of military operations for the Liberation of Tal Afar and Qaim, Hawija and that the fighting will not take the time because military plans ready, stressing that it only takes two days.

Iraqi security forces claim they are poised to take full control of Mosul imminently as Islamic State controls just a few metres of the area, battling to retain the last few streets in a last stand.

"We are seeing now the last meters (of the battle) and then victory will be announced," said a TV speaker, "It's a matter of hours," she said, citing the channel's correspondents embedded with security forces in the Old City of Mosul, by the Tigris river.

According to a Reuters report, a military spokesman said the defence lines of Isis were crumbling. Isis fighters are putting up a fierce resistances with suicide bombers, snipers and grenades, hampering the progress of Iraqi troops. Smoke billowed above Mosul, which was battered by air strikes and artillery fire.

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi is expected to visit the Iraqi city to formally declare victory, with plans for a  week of nationwide celebrations.

Mosul is the largest city seized by Isis and is where the Islamic extremists declared their caliphate.

A post-battle plan to rebuild the city has not yet been formulated. "Prime Minister (Haider) al-Abadi kept dragging his heels. Every time we raised this issue with him, he said, 'Let's wait until military operations are over'," said Hoshyar Zebari, a former finance and foreign minister.

The joy of the Iraqi police in Mosul to defeat Daesh

 

US general said Saturday that the Iraqi authorities will announce "in imminent" final victory time in the battle to restore the city of Mosul from the grip of Daesh.

General Robert Sovja said in his speech told AFP by telephone from Baghdad, "I do not want to predict whether it will happen today or tomorrow, but I think it will happen very soon."

He pointed out that the militants who remained in Mosul fighting in a very small area of the old town adjacent to the Tigris River, and they are "desperate."

He explained that some of them trying to infiltrate the ranks of civilians fleeing the city and shave their beards and change their clothes, while others pretend to die and then blow up their jackets explosive when approaching Iraqi security forces of them.

The battle began to regain control of Mosul Daesh on 16 October / October 2016, and slowed progress toward Iraqi forces last hideouts of the militants because of planting a large number of improvised explosive devices and bombs in each building they control.

He said Sovja Iraqi security forces "deserve to celebrate and feel proud and accomplishment" upfront "advance congratulations to the elements in a great battle."

"The fighting in Mosul does not resemble anything done by any modern army in the present. Only the Second World War that can resemble from afar."

He stressed Sovja that "the liberation of Mosul will cause a reaction, and we should pay attention to the next step."

US General manages the center of joint operations of the Alliance, which is fighting the organization of the Islamic state in Baghdad and beyond, and "strike cell" coordinate air strikes in the south and west of the country.

A source in the media war cell revealed the reasons behind not to declare a statement of victory tonight.
