I want you guys to think about one thing Mastercard is now on board with Iraq this tells me Mastercard that is an international company card holder would NEVER deal with a country that still had sanctions on them.  That was the clincher for me Chapter 7 is DONE!!! they move now into chapter 6.  Dog and pony show on the 27th we wait and see.

Even though what we are talking about now makes total sense, rationale thought is often lost on Iraq and we still "don't know what we don't know" about what really needs to happen before a new rate becomes effective internationally.

Also, there are few working days before their government breaks for Ramadan so its doubtful they can accomplish in a few days what they haven't been able to in years... Granted this seems different but us cashing in anytime BEFORE Ramadan starts still seems unlikely.

Kuwait: near Baghdad to work with the joint oil fields

Confirmed to the parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, Iraq's access to formal approval by the Secretary-General of the United Nations to remove Iraq from Chapter VII and to the convergence of views between Iraq and Kuwait.

This comes at a time when promised the new picture of the evolution of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations are the typical image that it should be a level to enhance Arab relations portal joint Arab cooperation in all fields.

I am the Market Manager for a Credit Card processing ISO.. This true.. MC or VISA would never sign a contract with sanctions involved. It's kind of like betting on a horse with 3 legs.. Never going to win.

It's here folks, I agree, with dontlop, this has been an ongoing process for years, but they have finally arrived, and with them, us. The only sad people are going to be the lop'ers and the guru's who will now have to get a life and find other ways to amuse themselves.

You are correct in your observation. Fly under the radar as we say. I would be interested in what Ezrapound has to say. I read his 'Looking Back' post on this forum and I agree that there is a sort of quiet assurance in this time frame.  Be Blessed my fellow Dinarians.

It gets better. Parliament is back. It has but a few days before Ramadan begins to get a lot done. Then Parliament is off for another month. This RV would be the icing on the cake for all the Iraqi people going into Ramadan.

its not that they are just starting now, I agree they have been working on this for years and things are moving rapidly to a conclusion. I just don't think they will get everything done before Ramadan... There may be things that have to happen yet that we dont know about, even if they are procedural in nature... I think we will be lucky if it gets done by the end of September. Again, I hope I am wrong...

ya i hear ya ..they could take 6 months to close the books on ch7 .. i have no idea of the procedure and whats involved .. all the articles are stating the beginning of removing  iraq from ch7 .. i wish it said finalized the removal of ch7

then again it could simply mean the voting process and then the signing of  release ..

I am hoping that this is their plan. What a way to kick it off! Not to mention, July 1st is the start of their third Fiscal QTR.

But.. I have been in this long enough to know to not hold my breath. We continue to wait and see. Their momentum is awesome though.

Tomorrow they will vote on a basket of laws... keeping my eyes peeled.
