  1. Great post! I believe our country is moving very quickly towards a great "divide", and I don't mean just politically or economically. You are already starting to see the effects as the Blue states turn dark blue, and the Red states turn dark red. Although the main reason for this divide can be attributed to each person's world view (religious beliefs being the most important here) the country is divided itself along state boundaries, and I would argue further that it could be even to the county levels. Have you seen a red vs blue map of the country? When they do this map by states, the country looks pretty evenly divided. However, when they show the map by county, a much different picture is shown. The only blue areas on the map are primarily associated with major metropolitan areas; the rest of the map is red. Indy
  2. Can anyone name a city that has gone bankrupt recently that was controlled by Republicans for more than 10 years up to the point of being insolvent? There is a pattern here and the pattern is that Liberal policies do not improve the economic situation in any way. Look at all of the cities that are not far behind Detroit such as Chicago and New York. People can continue to ignore the facts and blame others, but until people realize that Liberal policies are leading cities down the path of the PIIGS, this is going to be a common subject of discussion for years to come. 3. I used to work for BoA as a Technology Program Manager and was part of the new BoA online site rollout. Based upon that experience I can tell you that banks due regular maintenance and the best time to do this is on the weekends during the off hours. The frequency for updates was approximately once a month with major updates occurring once a quarter. The fact that so many banks appear to be doing a major update (this usually requires bringing the site offline) does look very suspicious. Only time will tell and if there is any truth to this coordination of bank activity...we will know soon enough. Indy
  4. That is funny, as I thought the same thing. In fact, I looked up the weather report for Bagdad and if the reason for giving the Holiday yesterday was because of hot weather, then I think we have all been duped. If you look at the last two weeks and the coming weeks, yesterday was not a "hot" day, by Iraqi standards. Me thinks something is odd with this picture, but I don't want to get to excited, as we have been down this road way too many times.Indy
  5. Hopefully you don't have a fire before the RV occurs. Just saying... My Dad had the same distrust of the banks and strategy as you before I convinced him to get a fireproof safe. Indy
  6. IMHO, they are all paying too much. Any money that is pulled from the private sector in the form of confiscatory taxes is less money for corporations and businesses in invest and hire new workers. The US has one of the highest realized corporate tax rates, even with the safe havens and tax shelters that are utilized. Indy
  7. They are selling $US, not IQD. This is a good thing, IMHO. Indy
  8. I think alot of people are wishing Hillarious was sitting in the Whitehouse and not Obummer.Indy
  9. There are two ways to pass a constitutional amendment; the Constitutional Convention route does not require any involvement from the Federal Gov...only the states are involved. Indy
  10. Most, if not all of the posts on this thread remind me of the gossip that occurs in High School. One student starts a rumor that is based in some truth, but then makes statements to push a lie with the intent of harming someone or making a joke. Everyone hears the rumor and jumps to the conclusion that it must have come from the person who the rumor was started to hurt. Before you jump to conclusions and make statements that you cannot back with facts, remember that you are just as guilty as the original poster of this WITK thread. Indy
  11. When you treat the symptom, people killing people, and do not treat the problem, the corrupt heart and soul of Man, the policies put forth by secular GOVs will never fully address the social issues of mankind. Indy
  12. Same with me...I told a close friend of mine several years back, but he would not invest. Funny thing is, at the time he was throwing hundred's of thousands of $'s at a startup company any it just went under about 6 months ago. If only he had taken say 10k and put it towards the IQD, I think his chances would have been better. Since then I have invested enough to gift my close friends enough IQD to make sure they will see some blessing when this thing actually does pop. Indy
  13. I find this quite interesting as it validates some key arguments against increased gun control (even if you removed the 2nd amendment entirely, which in and of itself should be the only argument required to support the "right to bare arms"). 1) Removing all guns from a society does not reduce/stop crime; instead, it transforms the crime. 2) Law abiding citizens will comply with the laws and most likely give up their arms ( I however believe there is a larger portion of society that is willing to fight to keep the right to bare arms, even to the death) 3)Criminals already intent in committing a crime (say for example robbing a bank) will pursue firearms to aid in the crime. 4)People in big GOV have the exact same human tendencies and shortcomings as do people in the private sectors and yet the Left accuses people in the private sectors of abuse of power, greed, etc; in the same instant, they give people in big GOV a pass and excuse every ineptitude and crime as a one-off instance that should in no way be generalized to bring doubt or questions in the entire institution. Can anyone say House Banking Scandal? 5) The reason every law, abiding citizen (notice my qualification) should be allowed this right (and big GOV has the responsibility to show a person is not qualified to carry) is to protect themselves and families from criminals, from animals (for those who live in remote areas), and from big GOV. Yes, I said it. 6) If big GOV was truly intent on reducing crime, they would focus on locking up that segment of society that commits most of the crime. There is some interesting statistic that 90% of violent crime is committed by 5% of society (not exactly sure on these numbers, but I think they are close). Indy
  14. To compare spreading "Democracy" with the establishment of "Sharia Law" as equal in moral comparison is both ignorant and demented in logic. The prior establishes freedoms, while the later removes them. There is no moral equivalence that can be drawn between these two opposing ideologies. Indy
  15. I have always felt that most Liberal ideas are based upon feelings, and not upon results. If they wanted results, then facts and raw data would shape and form their opinions and policies. Instead, they turn a blind eye to what is obvious before them and trudge along a path that never brings the results they say they will. Indy
  16. Isn't this interesting! Now any prospective two-bit wanna-be thug can go down to the local library (paid for by the Govt) and look up the name of the closest (or farthest, depending upon public transportation availability (also funded by the Govt)) resident who does not intend to protect themselves with any type of firearm available today. This will be very convenient for many wanna-be criminals as it will substantially reduce the chance that they will get shot. Man, I love this bill. Indy
  17. Your logic alludes me. Steve did not post this info on DV and asked that it not be so. Don't you think your anger is directed at the wrong people, namely the one's who bring it here? Indy
  18. Bump I want everyone to know that I posted this in the chicken coop several days ago. Everything that I said is based in discussions that I am having with my brother and the funding firm that we are working with to start our new business. Take it for what it is worth. I am with many of you asking how can this possibly be and yet we don't see this live anywhere we believe that it should be showing -- the Forex, the CBI, etc. I can't say that I fully understand what is going on, but believe me, the information that I posted is verbatim what we are being told by the investment team. Indy
  19. There was a major flaw in Pastor Rick's original assumptions, namely that you could receive 353K KWD per 1 million IQD. The rest of his calcs are flawed after this.
  20. Not that it really matters, because the concept is still valid, but isn't 22,000x5.22x1million = $114 bilion, not trillion.
  21. LEGGMAN24 - I second JTTEXAS05's request. "What HUGE party?"
  22. I work for a very large bank in the eCommerce Technology group as a Technology Delivery Mgr and let me tell you, there is no such thing as "unlimited bandwidth" for $10 a month. If this were true, I and the countless hundreds of other people who work in my department would be out of a job. It takes servers, on-demand routers, software, Gigabit ethernet backplanes, etc. to make a system only appear to have unlimited backplane. Now granted, the bank I work at deals in daily hits that far exceed the average daily hits for the CBI site, but in any case, to acheive a truly "unlimited bandwidth" it is not possible by only spending $10/month. On the oringinal post, I can say that I can see both sides of this argument. It does appear as though the increased spike in traffic had some effect on the site. However, the reduction in traffic this week and the apparent outage that is occuring today, eventhough traffic volumes have decreased, is interesting. You would think that if the site brought on any additional capacity to remedy the situation that occurred last week that the reduction in traffic this week would not bring the site back down. Just my logical analysis of the situation.
