My dad just called me from Salt Lake. He said he talked to the bank manager at Chase Bank. Dad said the Chase manager told him that both Chase and Bank of America have both been approved to trade Dinar and they are both waiting for their main branch to give them the go. They are waiting for the new rate to come out and it's a go! There's no rate and date talk, just awsome news! Dad is retired and needed something to do i guess. But this is huge news in my book! This tells all you ney-sayers that this is a "real tradable currency". For them to say we are on line with the new dinar and just waiting for the go and the new rate is awsome! I have visited Bank of America in Tulsa Oklahoma two times in the last month and they look at me like i had just "bumped my head". I am so pumped! It's been a long road, but we are almost there........

Last night I had several dreams about a car that was my fathers favorite of all time and one he owned a 1966 Pontiac Grand Prix Gold with a white top Black interior. My dream was about coming into money and finding and buying this car and setting it up just the way my father would have loved it when I got up to go to work this morning I got on the computer and found this car not to far from where I live. Not sure why I had a dream about this car have not thought about it for years just maybe this means something and maybe it does not just thought I would Share. When the RV happens I will buy this car in tribute to my father.

Billions of dollars have been spent to rebuild Iraq's electricity network, which was damaged by U.S. shelling during the 1991 Gulf War, the 2003 invasion, subsequent looting and insurgent attacks. The national power grid, however, is still unable to provide more than seven hours of daily power in Baghdad alone. Other areas across Iraq get even less electricity. The planned power plants, to be built in four southern provinces, will add 2,750 megawatts to Iraq's current production of about 7,000 megawatts daily — about half of the actual demand. Ten of the turbines will be installed in Basra province, with an additional four each in Diwaniya, Muthanna and Maysan provinces. Each turbine is expected to produce 125 megawatts daily. Iraq projects it will produce 13,000 megawatts daily by 2014, said Adel Hameed Mahdi, an adviser to al-Shahristani. Fuel for the planned facilities will come from nearby oil and gas fields that are being developed by international energy companies, Mahdi said. He said it will take two years to build the plants. The deadline to submit proposals is mid-January, and the contracts will be awarded in May. The government of national unity will include members of parliament’s four main political blocs representing Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds, and comes with around a year to go before US troops are to withdraw completely. The announcement came as parliament voted to overturn controversial bans placed earlier this year on three members of a Sunni-backed political bloc for their alleged ties to former president Saddam Hussein’s Baath party. “This morning, I presented a request to the presidency of the parliament from the prime minister for a session to be held on Monday to present the cabinet,” Minister of State of Parliamentary Affairs Safaldin Al Safi said. “If Maliki finds that the candidates for a ministry are not suitable, he will take responsibility as acting minister in that ministry until a replacement is found,” added Safi.

There are MANY of you and few of us but we commit to you that we will help you as best as we can. 3) The first stage of exchanging our dinars will go into effect. We will send out mass PM's. You will then need to call Ali with the numbers that we give you in the PM and make a reservation for your appointment. You will say to him that you are from KTFM and then will be locked into an appointment time. Once at Ali's office, you will fill out a 104 form which will allow you to legally wire transfer money to your account from his. If you are representing someone else, this form will have an area where you explain that. 9.) Once the exchange has been transacted in Ali’s office, he will ask you to wait for 30 minutes while all confirmation is accomplished with the bank’s computers. He will then call you back into an office where you will visually see your money in your account. You should have your bank’s phone number with you so that you can call them and double check. Please keep in mind that you can only make one wire transfer per appointment. You will be charged $150.00 per million dinars for the exchange. 10.)Once all your transactions have been accomplished, you should go back to your hotel and get a good rest to drive or fly back home. Once you are at home………diversify as quickly as possible. You need to be assembling NOW your financial advisers, tax attorneys, etc. 11.) Remember what I said about doing this quickly? If you do not make your appointment immediately, you may have to wait up to a week. We have tried to organize you well in advance so I hope you have prepared yourself. USED to have that problem during the first two years of this nightmare, but experience has taught me that it never happens when we're convinced that it will, so it's best to be reasonably certain that it won't, and then VERY pleasantly surprised if it does. Real specific planning is probably counter-productive emotionally, so I would recommend having a general idea of what you'd like to do if it happens and save the serious planning for post-rv. There'll likely be plenty of time to do those things when the time comes. Don't set yourself up for depression. Live for today, and hope for tomorrow.

This Just In… December 17, 2010 12:04 am Take it as a RUMOR… but I just received a call (source in Baghdad) that Maliki just announced his Cabinet. I do NOT know what this means right now, but I’m sure the information will reveal itself over the next couple of days. Do they still need to ratify Maliki’s decisions? What other steps need to take place to make it official? These along with other questions are rattling through my tired brain tonight. I just do NOT know the answers to these questions yet. But, it appears everything is moving at the speed of light…. tie that in with the US Congress passage of the Tax Extensions, and we are GETTING THERE!!! The “Knock Out” items I mentioned in my post earlier today are already starting to fall… Nice!

After I posted this I had to go back and re-read about the 2 currencies used in Iraq. Yes 2 currencies for those who did not know that. The Kurdish region uses a different currency then the rest of the country. The swiss dinar was updated to use the Iraqi dinar denominations. This was to ease the exchange between the 2 currencies in country. They are talking about monitary intergration between the kurdish region and the rest of the county. How would this be done? maybe through the new lower denoms that are supposed to be released when the currency is revalued? I know… but as you can tell by most of my posts, I have never been one to blindly trust anyone for anything. In other threads it has been said that he has already negotiated the sliding scale % rates that the bank will be charging. Has he really done this? Why the secret? Wouldn’t he have more VIP’s membership fees if he posted the sliding scale for what he has negotiated with the banks? Me Thinks: that bank would pay him to have that HUGE amount of money on their books. (If the RV actually occurred)

I agree.... Many people are turning blue from holding their breathe on this thing. I'm hurting too, but if it continues without RV, it means I get the chance to procure more, on down the road. This is definitely one of the best investments I have seen since the dot-coms made millionaires. I would invest much more if I had the ability to do so right now. I may be new to this, but know a good thing when I see it, after (much) research, mind you. I have had to put myself in check on this. Many people I know are buying on reserve, with the 30 day speculation. I hope for them it comes through so they don't lose their 10%. Me, I am only human, I've had to keep my greed in check. I have had to put aside my urgency to obtain (more). This has been hard for me knowing that this will probably be a once in a lifetime situation. I've had to (pull it in) and tell myself, " how much is enough?". Enough, is what God has allowed me to have now, or later when the RV occurs. Inevitably, I will be telling myself I should have found a way to have more when it happens, but must also be thankful for the oppertunity of this being brought to my attention by a friend I haven't heard from for years about the investment potential. Will it happen? Yes, too many intities involved that have much higher stakes in this they we could ever emagine. We are in essence feeding off the crumbs, crumbs are better than a clean swept floor by the way, if you're hungry. These intities will be the ultimate deciding factor on what happens next, and in their eyes, the little people, i.e. us, don't matter. These intities are wrestless now, so it will happen soon in my opinion, which means very little to said intities. But I would rather be overlooked than have too much attention paid to my personal interest anyway, stay off (their) radar in effect. This means less hassle in the long run. I believe I have heard this whole thing referred to as the perfect storm... Well, I believe this to be true. I know there are a ton of questions right now with some of the info coming out of Iraq right now. I encourage all of you to read past posts from these members: Adam, Scooter, Phoenix, Chief V, Keepmwlknfny, Viper 51, and Eddinar. These people have taught me a lot and pointed me in the right frame of mind as far as this investment with both facts and logic! The new "guard " if you will, zzzzzzzzz, Steve, as well as others are doing a wonderful job as we speak. Though they too will get burnt out if answering the same questions over and over again. If it you are having a difficult time understanding what is going on, it's because you are supposed to!!! Who in their right mind would be upfront about an investment like this? My best advise is to READ, READ, and READ some more! If after that you have questions, try to do some research of your own. This site is a wealth of knowledge and all contributions are appreciated to the fullest. Most of the people named above will read through your post and give their opinion when it's something noteworthy. Just please DO NOT bombard them constantly. I would hate for these people to keep to themselves due to the constant questions and guidance needed by many who won't take the time to do a little research themselves.

I just came across this article from the Iraq Ministry of Planning (MOP) that states (as I read it) that the rate will be US$1.134 per dinar. The article is from an official Iraq Government site. I am not sure that I am reading it correctly but I really would appreciate all comments and/or interpretations of the article. I watch the CBI website everyday -- mostly due to my unhealthy addiction, trying to WILL the RV to happen. However, this morning, the exchange rates on the website now have 3 decimal places. Normally they did not have any decimal places. Previously the IQD rate for 1 USD was 1170 on the sell side. Today it is 1170.000. My Take: this is a change in the format of the numbers. Why change the format? Well you need to have the additional decimal places if they become needed. Remember, most of us are hoping for an exchange rate of 0.322 or thereabouts.!! As someone who just moved out of newbie status recently, as a newbie, I laughed at the number of people that signed up on this board with guns blazing asking every newbie question there is, over and over and over. Me? I actually read the posts pinned to the top that said don't ask first, then research but read and research the boards first and then ask for clarification on this or that. Most of the info you want to know is somewhere here, already discussed and disected to the sub-atomic level. You just need to do your own due dilligence and not expect or demand that others that have studied this investment just tell you everything you demand to know simply because you are too lazy to take the time to learn it for yourself. I personally didn't feel like I had anything to add to the site until very recently. I have learned from others and I am comfortable with what I have learned and invested what I am comfortable with. This isn't unique to DV, it is that way on every board I am a member of. People are lazy. As for dinar trade and the cash-in process, it has been talked about practically every week since I came to this board in Oct 2010. The info is here - dig deep into a topic thread - go to page 2 of it or golly gee, page 3. The people here are amazingly helpful, if you are willing to do your own work. I laugh every time someone says "I saw this article on WSJ online titled 'Blah, blah, blah' and it said whatever." The people on this site scream "Link! Link! Link!" Just open a new page and go to the WSJ and look for the article yourself. People are lazy, they want to be spoon-fed.

The amount of opportunities that are going to arise for investment are almost endless. This country has oil, gas and tourism(just to name a few) that can explode. It is amazing how many new markets can open up over there.

With that said, those rates are very important to understand for several reasons: The 1.13 rate was the calculated REAL rate used in the 2009 budget but the MoP's reasons below say it best: " The use of an exchange rate that is lower than the official rate is the appropriate action at the investment planning level to translate the country’s economic strategy aiming at stimulating central investments in the sectors that encourage the development of non-oil exports, as well as sectors that encourage the expansion of domestic production base in order to reduce imports and compensate it with local commodities. This helps to reduce reliance on foreign exchange earnings from crude oil exports and increases the share of non-oil sectors in the local production." "The real exchange rate has declined rapidly since the early seventies, through rapid rise of the level of prices and local costs which led by the steadiness of the official exchange rate to change in prices and actual local rate costs that gave an advantage for imported goods at the expense of locally produced goods, meaning that it led to deterioration of the competitiveness of alternative replacement goods and export commodities." The Program Rate/Official Rate of 3.208 was simply too high and destroyed domestically produced competitiveness. As a result, far too many economic sectors suffered and even disappeared inside of iraq. The 3.208 rate was used for all the derivative contracts for major capitol acquisitions. For example the 40 Boeing 737's or the GE/Seimans Electrical plants. Just an FYI, the 3.208 rate is the official program rate on record at the IMF, which was the last known rate before the sanctions occurred in 1990. This is why many argue that Iraq must RI at the last known official rate when the currency was internationally recognized.
