  1. As someone who just moved out of newbie status recently, as a newbie, I laughed at the number of people that signed up on this board with guns blazing asking every newbie question there is, over and over and over. Me? I actually read the posts pinned to the top that said don't ask first, then research but read and research the boards first and then ask for clarification on this or that. Most of the info you want to know is somewhere here, already discussed and disected to the sub-atomic level. You just need to do your own due dilligence and not expect or demand that others that have studied this investment just tell you everything you demand to know simply because you are too lazy to take the time to learn it for yourself. I personally didn't feel like I had anything to add to the site until very recently. I have learned from others and I am comfortable with what I have learned and invested what I am comfortable with. This isn't unique to DV, it is that way on every board I am a member of. People are lazy. As for dinar trade and the cash-in process, it has been talked about practically every week since I came to this board in Oct 2010. The info is here - dig deep into a topic thread - go to page 2 of it or golly gee, page 3. The people here are amazingly helpful, if you are willing to do your own work. I laugh every time someone says "I saw this article on WSJ online titled 'Blah, blah, blah' and it said whatever." The people on this site scream "Link! Link! Link!" Just open a new page and go to the WSJ and look for the article yourself. People are lazy, they want to be spoon-fed.
  2. The VIP prices are not levels but lengths of subscriptions. Be a VIP for 3 months, 6 months or 12 months. The longer the subscription commitment the lower the average price per month. Once you are VIP, you are VIP.
  3. Are you in the path of that blizzard that went through the midwest? Has it snowed or is it snowing where you are now? Are the streets passable? FedEx doesn't know about nor care about the contents your package. If it snowing or recently snowed, they won't send out drivers until it's safe to do so. if they send out drivers in dicey conditions it will be for obvious medical packages, medications, payroll, etc. A COD package isn't a high priority in this circumstance and was probably left behind. The status igven on the internet and via e-mail on packages in the FedEx system is vague at best. Call FedEx and they can give you detail. i am a fedex guy, trust me, i know.
  4. This ride is starting to remind me of a bar and grill near our house in Memphis. Painted huge on the side of it's building: "FREE BEER. FREE BURGERS. TOMORROW." Made me laugh every time I saw it. I always wondered how many people came through the doors asking for the free beer and burgers, only to be told to come back tomorrow... Go RV!
  5. I think SteveI at least is on moderated post according to his profile not banned. The call was awesome. i learned a lot even though nothing new was shared. It is nice to hear someone talk through how the chips line up and how they fall and what that means.
  6. Thanks Steve from me as well. I am one of those newbies you were trying to help tonight. i've been in this invest ment since 09/10 and on this site the same amount of time. I have learned to read the posts of 5 or 6 guys and trust it. Hopefully, Adam will get over whatever blew up his skirt. I learned a lot on this call tonight, primarily that this investment is real, folks with intel that are trusted on this site aren't trying to be "date and rate" pumpers, they take research, their own business knowledge, and boots on the ground intel and make a judgement call, and if it doesn't go down right it's because Iraq is wobbly not the intel or the research. Tonight's call was to dispute some of the negativity that flared up this morning on the board. I was on chat yesterday as the GOI was being elected, links were provided in chat to watch it live, I did. I saw Talibani get elected, I saw Talibani get sworn in, I saw Talibani give his acceptance speech. Then to come here this morning and see people post news stories that none of that happened, that the GOI was falling apart was absurd. I think that's what SteveI and others were seeing too. What they reassured me with was, think, if you have done your research you know the order of events that have to occur. A has happened, B has happened, C has happened, D, E, F. Now, the GOI has begun to be seated and that speaks volumes to the world of how serious they are. What is next? The RV is next. When? Dunno, but sooner rather than later. Not late 2011 or 2012. They have opened the door. Some people don't want to think on this board. If you say that foxnews.com has a dinar article and don't give a link, people scream at you. Me, i go to foxnews.com and look and see for myself and find it. I am thankful that the DV site posters are willing to share their knowlege with me on this investment, on what to think about post-RV, by devising checklists for cash-in, questions to ask a financial planner, etc. Nobody has to share their knowledge, thank you for that. Why some on here are so petulant and abusive is amazing.
  7. And if I understand it correctly, they are in their weekend since they are off Friday and Saturday. Then next week is a 4 day holy week/festival for them. So nothing next week either.
  8. Or if you didn't want to stand out quite as much with your big boat you could go a little more subtle...
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Iraqi fiscal year the calendar year? The US fiscal year starts in October. This post calls the Iraqi FY start in Nov.
  10. I work for FedEx and have delivered many packages from D-Trade via COD. You need to breathe, and think for a minute. Ali is in CA and therefore, he has like a 2 pm cutoff on orders. He has to process all of those orders. As has been posted already, they probably print your shipping label with your confirmation info, and put in in the que with the others. With all of the "it RVs on the 1st, 10th, 15th, by Nov 2..." I'm sure shipments are up for Ali and it is all they can do to process it all each day. Ali ships orders FedEx Priority Overnight, depending on where you live, that's next morning by 1030, noon, or if you are rural 430 pm. For COD service add 90 mins, or by noon, 130 or 430. Priority Overnight is a M-F del. If you ordered later in the day Thu, you probably missed the Thu pickup window and it probably shipped on Fri.
  11. I think i've heard Adam say on a recent conf call that you can set your own IBC up for a few grand and then make yourself an employee and get paid a "reasonable" yearly salary which you decide to pay yourself. You avoid some tax this way. of course it's available to vip and it's something that really needs to be set up right and managed by a knowlegable professional.
