  1. DFI is protection by the UN to stop worldwide creditors from seizing Iraq's assets. That protection was extended by the UNSC until June 30 so it's everyone's thinking that the RV has to happen before then so Iraq has the ability to pay and/or negotiate with its creditors.
  2. I don't know about Homeland Security but you do (or did) have to worry a lot if you live in California -- the state govt was routinely removing the contents from safe deposit boxes as "abandoned" even though the banks know otherwise, and the owners have active accounts at the same banks, but no attempt was ever made to contact them. http://silverbearcafe.com/private/5.08/ripoff.html.
  3. I doubt there would be any reporting of a cash transaction made outside the US but beware if you plan on bringing that cash back in later....every customs and immigration form I've ever filled out upon returning to the US has asked if I'm carrying over $10,000 in currency. I personally would not risk lying about it. If, however, you're talking about setting up a bank account with a non-US bank, cashing your dinar in another country, depositing the funds into that non-US bank and then coming home, I don't see how anyone would ever know. You can honestly fill in the customs and immigrations forms as "no cash over 10k".
  4. Adam has requested that we NOT ask questions of him using the forum as he may or may not see it, and he's usually too busy to answer individual questions. I believe you can email him, especially if you are a VIP member but I can guarantee that his response will be "I don't have further information or I would have shared it already."
  5. Look at the date.....this is a year old already.
  6. And where are you getting the information you just posted? A quick Google search doesn't show anything about US soldiers being paid in IQD nor does it say anything about borders being closed. I've seen these comments posted before but does anyone have links or any proof?
  7. I'm pretty sure that you are only claiming it at customs and immigration at the arrival airport. I've never been asked about currency at any other time when flying.
  8. I'm not sure that U.S. laws have any bearing whatsoever on Iraq. They can decide to do whatever the want.
  9. Thanks Brisco but that article doesn't say anything about a deadline of Dec. 31, 2010. If what I heard was true, the Paris Club wants an RV before year end or the remaining debt won't be forgiven and won't be renegotiated. That's what I'm trying to verify.
  10. Last night I was on a CC with a private group of dinar speculators (not associated with DV although some of them are members) and the moderator said that it was critical for the RV to happen before Dec. 31st or the Paris Club debt would not be forgiven and Iraq would have to repay billions in debt. I have been able to verify the existence of the Paris Club Agreement but not the impending deadline of Dec. 31st. It appears that 80% of the debt was already forgiven in 2008. Anyone know more about this?
  11. Well, thank you Sweaty Deacon for being so condescending. I didn't post anything, question or comment, for the first few weeks. I have read those Newbie posts but perhaps I should go back and re-read them now that I have a more fully rounded education in dinars. My point is that all of you say trust, trust, trust Ali because he is already a multi-millionaire with desires to own a bank in Iraq but not one of you can offer anything concrete. I'm not asking to be spoon-fed but I have done enough research to realize that there is very little that pops up on a Google search other than these forums and all of you offer the same biased Ali accolades because you had a positive experience buying dinar. No one, to my knowledge, has cashed in yet so how do you know, especially as his own website doesn't even define his relationship with CBI? Thank you all for your time and efforts to answer my question. I'll call DT and try to get answers on Monday. If I find out anything that may be of interest I'll post it; otherwise, I think I've had enough of some of the self-righteous gurus among you.
  12. I will certainly check this out with DT on Monday when their offices open, but nowhere on their site do I see anything about exchanging through CBI -- it only says OUR COMPANY (DINAR TRADE) WILL PURCHASE IRAQI DINAR AT ANY GIVEN TIME AT THE CENTRAL BANK OF IRAQ PRICE. Unless some of you have more specific information, this doesn't mean (to me anyway) that it's being processed through CBI. And, by the way TWIZTID, why would you say, "I must be new to question Ali"? I'm asking for proof or for someone to point me in the direction of proof. I'm happy to do my due diligence but haven't found any concrete evidence either way yet. A comment like that doesn't help me at all.
  13. Thank you everyone. I did not realize that he would be doing this through the CBI. Makes more sense now.
  14. Admittedly, I am very new to this forum and this opportunity; I only learned of it in early November and have committed as much as I'm comfortable risking. During a few sleepless hours last night, I began to wonder just how Ali can possibly have enough cash in reserve to exchange all of our dinar. While few of you have come forth with details of your portfolios, it's obvious that most have several million dinar and occasionally some have implied tens of millions. So, even at a rate of $1 Ali will need a substantial amount and if it RVs at $3+ he's going to need hundreds and hundreds of millions. Many of you have given Ali glowing recommendations and accolades but what do you really know of him and his ability to pay us? I have faith in no one, especially not when it comes to money. Any hard evidence of his fiduciary status?
  15. I have a good friend in CA who ordered more dinar from DT last week. When FedEx arrived, she watched the driver put her money order into the return overnight envelope and seal it. When it arrived at DT the envelope was empty and FedEx contacted her as part of their investigation. Obviously this will be covered by FedEx insurance and my friend isn't liable but just wondering if this was an isolated case or if anyone else has experienced vanishing money. The last time I had an order delivered, my husband asked our driver if he new about DT and he said he did and had delivered a LOT of them in recent weeks but hadn't yet purchased any himself. If they all know what's in the delivery, seems odd that it's the money order that would be stolen and not the nearly untraceable dinar.
