Said Dr. Shabibi central bank governor that this year's budget an investment budget because it focused on the size of the investment Ziada.

Shabibi said that the role of the central bank is to address the imbalance that would result from the development process that will result from changes in economic structure are basic.

He pointed out that the central bank is to achieve development in a stable monetary environment through attention to all means and policies to achieve economic stability and moderation in the environment and the normal rate of inflation moderate.

He continued: our budget relating to the conservation of its resources, is done by combating inflation. Stressing that the bank had several measures including raising the dinar exchange rate.

He pointed out that the impact of this action on the budget through the impact on the purchasing power of government, will increase by addressing inflation.

Shabibi said: that this policy will increase the confidence in dinars, which will pull some of the money to the banking sector and the rationalization of government spending because of its impact on inflation.

He indicated that this action will lead to a reduction in prices of import goods such as private sector imports and the import of the government's development that comes from converting the Iraqi dinar to the dollar.

He added that this policy at the time weakens the government's ability to buy the dinar, it strengthens Aldenarabraghi which is owned by the government. واكد الشبيبي بأن دور البنك المركزي يتمثل في معالجة الاختلال الذي سينجم عن عملية التنمية التي ستتمخض عن تغييرات في البنية الاقتصادية الارتكازية. مشيرا الى ان عمل البنك المركزي هو تحقيق التنمية في بيئة نقدية مستقرة من خلال الاهتمام بكل الوسائل والسياسات التي تحقق الاستقرار الاقتصادي واعتدال البيئة السوية ونسبة تضخم معتدل. منوها الى ان هذا الاجراء يؤدي الى خفض اسعار سلع الاستيراد مثل استيراد القطاع الخاص واستيرادات الحكومة للتنمية التي تأتي من تحويل الدينار العراقي الى دولار. What is the date of this article? It says 2005 down on the bottom right. Anyone Clarify?

That was a good catch, ttromde, about the article being dated 2005 because Iraq was fighting inflation of approximately 60 to 70% and the dinar was prop up by using the USD. As a matter of fact if you've been around a while then you've seen articles being used and re-used or regurgitated over and over again as some of the older ones on the forum use to say, bring up the date to match todays date, but hey, it's fun to see and hope because after all it will happen as Shabibi said it would some day and I think very soon! This was a great post in 2005 and for today's date, we can see how Shabibi had a plan back then to match today situation with the IQD! A very intelligent man I must say!
