It is likely that the salary disbursement process will witnessIraqThis month is an exceptional crisis, after the crisis of delay and deduction last month and fears of a lack of liquidity, as it is expected that this month about 10 million people receiving salaries in Iraq will roam the streets carrying their cards filled with digital money, searching for someone to convert it to cash for them by hand.

Where it was announcedAssociationPayroll outlets inIraqAll governorates will go on strike starting from January 20, i.e. during the last ten days of the month, which is the period for disbursing salaries to employees, social care, and retirees. This means that the strike will be during the peak period when citizens are searching for outlets to withdraw their money from their cards.

The strike was announced in protest against the statements of the Central Bank Governor.IraqiAli Al-Alaq, who said a few days ago that the salary payment outlets are unofficial and we are working to close them.

This means that there are 10 million peopleIraqiAmong the recipients of social welfare and retirement salaries and employees, they will roam the streets during the last ten days of this month carrying their cards in search of outlets to withdraw their salaries, as there are about 25 to 30 thousand POC devices and outlets to withdraw salaries, which the recipients of salaries will lose and will find nothing in front of them except 4 thousand ATMs placed at the doors of banks or some shopping malls.

Accordingly, it is expected that 10 million people will crowd the doors of banks during the next 10 days to be able to withdraw their salaries in the event that the threat of the owners of the outlets actually comes true and they proceed to close and strike.
