Shafaq News/ On Tuesday, the Supreme Judicial Council issued an arrest warrant against leaders of the Sadrist movement.

A statement of the Supreme Judicial Council received by Shafak News Agency stated; Today, the Karkh Investigation Court issued an arrest warrant against Sabah Al-Saadi for the crime of threatening the judiciary, and another warrant against Muhammad Al-Saadi.

In a later statement, the Supreme Judicial Council said, "The Karkh Investigation Court issued an arrest warrant against Ghayeb Al-Amiri (resigned deputy) for the crime of incitement to kill judges," noting that the court decided "to ban his travel and asked the security services to quickly implement it."

And the judiciary in Iraq decided, earlier on Tuesday, to suspend its work in the country, following a sit-in by supporters of the Sadrist movement in front of the Supreme Judicial Council, demanding the dissolution of the Iraqi Council of Representatives.

Dozens of Sadrists' supporters went earlier this morning to the Supreme Judicial Council and began erecting the sit-in marquee in front of the council's building in a new development of escalation that affected the judiciary after the legislative authority in light of a stifling political crisis the country is going through.

This is the first time that the council building located in the fortified Green Zone in the center of the capital, Baghdad, witnessed protests because of its tight protection, but the followers of the prominent Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr have the ability to invade any official institution because they have a wide popular base in the regions of central and southern Iraq Supported by the "Saraya al-Salam", the military wing of the movement.

The protesters carried slogans calling for the implementation of the call of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to dissolve the Iraqi parliament, in preparation for holding early legislative elections in Iraq.

The demands made by the protesters before the Judicial Council, in addition to the dissolution of Parliament, included "identifying the largest bloc, fighting corruption and the corrupt, separating the public prosecution from the Supreme Judicial Council with the amendment, and not politicizing the judiciary."

On the tenth of August, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, asked the judicial authorities to work on dissolving the Iraqi parliament within a maximum period of the end of next week, urging at the same time the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih, to set a date for early legislative elections in the country. .

The Judicial Council had confirmed on several occasions and another in an official statement in which he responded to al-Sadr, that he "does not have the authority to dissolve the House of Representatives," calling on "all political and media parties not to involve the judiciary in political rivalries and competitions."

The political scene in Iraq has been going through a dangerous turn since supporters of the Sadrist movement led by prominent Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr stormed the parliament building in the fortified Green Zone in central Baghdad, and staged a sit-in in protest against Al-Sudani's nomination for the position of head of the next federal government.

Shafaq News/ The Shiite coordination framework announced today, Tuesday, its refusal to hold any dialogue with the Sadrist movement, except after it retracted what it described as "the occupation of state institutions", accusing it of threatening the President of the Constitutional Court with "physical liquidation".

And he said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that he "declares his full condemnation of the dangerous transgression against the judicial institution and the threats of physical liquidation against the President of the Constitutional Court," calling on "all respected national political forces as well as societal activities not to remain silent, but to take the initiative to condemn this infringement."

The coordinating framework announced, according to its statement, "its refusal to receive any message from the Sadrist movement or any invitation for direct dialogue, except after announcing its retreat from the occupation of the constitutional state institutions and returning to the side of the forces that believe in peaceful and democratic solutions."

He also held the coordination framework, "the government is fully responsible for preserving state property and the lives of employees and officials, especially the judiciary, which is the only valve that remains for Iraq as a result of the domination of forces outside the state over the institutions and the imposition of their will outside the authority of the state."

The coordination framework also called, "the Iraqi people, with all their segments, to be highly prepared and fully prepared for the next step in which the people must say what they say against the state's kidnappers to restore its prestige and authority."

The coordinating framework also called on the international community to "state its clear position in the face of this serious infringement on constitutional institutions, foremost of which is the judiciary and the legislative institution," according to the statement.

In turn, the so-called "Organizing Committee for the People's Demonstrations Protects the State" affiliated to the coordination framework said, in a statement addressed to the Iraqis, that "the authority represented to you in the parliament has been violated before, and today here is the judiciary, which is the measure of goodness and justice and the head of all the feats of all." Countries and peoples, the mainstay of the state's existence and prestige, and the safety valve for maintaining law and order in the most difficult circumstances, have been subjected to flagrant abuses and reckless threatening messages."

The statement added that "the judicial authority announced its rejection and disapproval of this shameful behavior and decided to stop all its work in protest against these unconstitutional and outlaw actions, which represent a coup against the political system and the democratic process."

"Therefore, we invite you, out of concern for the future of the state, its prestige, and the fate of this people, for effective and influential public participation in protecting the state and its institutions, and to stand with the Iraqi judiciary, which has openly and clearly declared the responsibility of the current government and the political party behind this flagrant violation."

The committee indicated that this “calls on all free Iraqis to stand united behind the state’s judicial institutions, protect them, defend and liberate them from the outlaws and outlaws, and reject all manifestations of lawlessness and chaos that threaten the security of Iraq and Iraqis. To perform your national, legal and moral duty," according to the statement.

ERBIL — The US embassy in Baghdad has urged all political parties in Iraq to remain calm and avoid violence, and resolve their disputes based on the Constitution, an official statement said on Tuesday.

The embassy's statement came after hundreds of Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr's supporters gathered outside the Iraqi Supreme Council earlier today to begin demonstrations amid a political turmoil in Iraq.

"We are closely monitoring reports of unrest in Baghdad today at the Supreme Judicial Council," reads the statement. "We urge all parties to remain calm, abstain from violence, and resolve any political differences through a peaceful process guided by the Iraqi constitution."

"We also call for those demonstrating to respect the proceedings and property of Iraq’s governmental institutions which belong to and serve the Iraqi people," the statement concluded.

The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) also issued a similar statement to comment on the developments and called on the political parties to adhere to the constitution when dealing with the situation.

"The right to peaceful protest is an essential element of democracy," the UNAMI said in a statement on Twitter.

"Equally important is the assertion of constitutional compliance and respect for state institutions. State institutions must operate unimpeded in service of the Iraqi people, including the SJC."

The Sadrist Movement earlier in the evening asked its supporters to end their demonstrations outside the Supreme Judicial Council and continue the sit-in in front of the parliament inside the Green Zone.
