With the Post-Modernist take over of the thought process, many words and their meanings are being distorted and perverted for political and idealogical gain. Just for fun, let's review the Dictionary.com definition of "Nationalist".

 

Nationalism -

(1) Spirit or aspirations common to the whole of the nation

(2) Devotion and loyalty to one's own country

(3) Excessive Patriotism, Chauvinism

 

I definitely align with items (1) and (2). Even item (3) could be argued as good for America, when in the context of America vs. The World.

 

So what is your definition of "Nationalism"?

But like deceitful Demoncraps, Hitler changed the real meaning of the word. In fact Hitler formed most of his platform after the Demoncraps platform. Except for the ones he deemed to radical for the Nazi party.

Hitler considered abortion as a means of genocide, a Demoncraps platform, to radical for the Nazi party.

This is the mistake that the LEFT falls into every time. Because they are in an echo chamber, they have accepted ideas and language that is not inline with mainstream America. You are doing the same by accepting the fact that the word "Nationalism" or any root derivation means Nazi, Hitler Nationalism. Isn't it ironic that most of America has not drawn this conclusion, because most of America is not listening, reading, and digesting the hateful rhetoric of the LEFT.

I can quote what I believe is the intent by the LEFT to defame and brand a broad swath of people as racist when they are not.

 

The media uses the term "White Nationalist" to indicate White Racist people. I will concede that the organizations in America who use this term to describe their belief system rightly so identifies them as people who are racists.

However, to say that anyone who calls themselves an "American Nationalist", or just "Nationalist", is derelict of understanding the basic American English Language and that the first descriptor does not equal the second.

Fair opinion.  You said "most of America" in your previous post and I always wonder how people come to their conclusions with respect to stats when they have none.  No disrespect intended.

 

With regards to the term Nationalist....I'll continue to not use it for obvious reasons and leave it to those who feel the need to defend the term.

My opinion is based on logic...if a majority of people in America believe that the descriptor "Nationalist" or "Nationalism" automatically implies Nazism and Racism, I would like to see this poll. I think the term "White Nationalist" definitely is interpreted as a racist or Nazi leaning organization because of the descriptor, "White". To simply say you are a "Nationalist" does not imply "White Nationalist", but for some reason most on the LEFT have taken this logical step, which by any conceivable interpretation is flawed.

I agree all this nitpicking apart every phase is senseless. That's why when people ask me what I am, I proudly answer. "I'm an American". I'm not French, English, Irish, or whatever. I was born here and didn't come over with my ancestors. I'm not a Democrat or Republican. I don't swear my allegiance to one party or another. I'm American.
