All political forces to gather their words to preserve this sovereignty and not to make Iraq a yard to settle the regional and international calculations and we can not allow the US occupation forces that committed the crimes of shameful and shameful in Iraq against the Iraqi people that threaten security and community peace provocative practices.

Iraqi Militia Commander Threatens to Oust US Troops “Overnight”

Iraqi Militia Commander Threatens to Oust US Troops “Overnight”

ERBIL — A commander of Iraqi Shi’ite militias of Asaib Ahl al-Hagh has threatened again to oust the US forces in the country “overnight” as debates on US military presence in Iraq heat up.

Qais Khazali told Somariya News that the Iranian-backed militias are capable of forcing the US soldiers “no matter how many they are”.

He said, however, that the country’s parliament should work on a law that ends the US military mission in Iraq before the militias attack them.

The remarks came after US President Donald Trump said a day earlier that he will relocate part of the US troops from Syria to Iraq “to watch Iran”.

The statement by Trump angered many Iraqi Shi’ite leaders who enjoy close ties with Tehran. Barham Salih, the president of the country, warned that Trump did not ask Iraq's permission for stationing the US troops there to "watch Iran”, as reported by al-Jazeera.

"Don't overburden Iraq with your own issues," Salih said. "The US is a major power ... but do not pursue your own policy priorities, we live here."

Iraqi PM to Visit Washington, Discuss US Military Presence

 04/02/2019 - 12:58  Published in Iraq

Iraqi PM to Visit Washington, Discuss US Military Presence

ERBIL — Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi will visit Washington in the near future to discuss a range of issues, including the US troops in the country as it has recently turned into a heated debate, a report claimed.

According to anonymous Baghdad officials cited by al-Araby al-Jadeed, Abdul Mahdi is attempting to gain support from other major political blocs in Iraq before heading to the US.

He hopes for an understanding with Fatih and Sairoon blocs, the source said.

Besides US military presence in Iraq, the premier will also discuss US sanctions and a prolonged waiver for Iraq. Abdul-Mahdi hopes to persuade Washington about Iraq’s fragile security situation that needs good relations with the neighboring countries, including Iran, despite US hostilities with the Tehran government.

The report came a day after US President Donald Trump said during an interview with the CBS that he will relocate part of US troops from Syria to Iraq so they can “watch Iran”. The remark has angered many Iraqi leaders who have closer ties with Tehran, accusing US of violating Iraq’s sovereignty and using the territory for its hostilities against other states.

The date for Abdul-Mahdi’s trip to the US is not known yet, but officials said he will be leading a large delegation from his government.

The US forces in Iraq "will remain there in the long term to achieve the desired goals," a report by the US Department of Defense said.
The Pentagon report to the US Congress addresses US operations in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and Syria, covering the period from 1 October to 31 December 2018.
The Pentagon report said Syria's pro-American Democratic forces, North and north-east of Syria, are currently ineligible for offensive military operations against Dahesh without the support of the US-led coalition forces against Dahesh, and that Qusd forces lack the capacity to collect and use intelligence effectively.
The Pentagon stressed that the Russian presence in Syria is a destabilizing factor there.
On the Iranian presence in Syria, the report quoted the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Security Affairs as saying that the US sanctions imposed on Iran had a limited impact on its ability to operate in Syria, and revealed the use of Iranian forces ballistic missiles against the fighters in Damascus, "without informing the troops US military in advance. Baghdad / News:

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's parliament is unable to revoke the security pact with the United States because it considers it an international treaty that can not be revoked by one party without the consent of the other, Iraqi experts said on Tuesday.

"After my research during the last two days in the agreements between the countries, it is clear that the agreement can not be canceled by the parliament because it has signed between the governments of Iraq and America, which is an international agreement and can not be canceled any agreement or treaty only with the agreement of the two signatories' .

"The cancellation of the Suez Canal Treaty by Nasser for his part followed by the aggression of 1956 and the cancellation of the 1975 Algiers Treaty by former regime president Saddam Hussein," he said. Hussein in 1980 did not recognize Iran and now the parties returned to the Convention because it is in force '.

Can Iraq pull US troops out of its territory? And law experts: It is still at the stage of international tutelage

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A member of the political bureau of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq movement, Mahmud al-Rubaie, expects a successful vote on a bill that will force US troops to leave Iraq. The former judge and legal expert Ali al- Iraq is still under Chapter VI of the Charter of the United Nations of Article 33 to 38, that is, it is still in the stage of international custody.

"We have news and information about the American forces roaming some areas of Mosul, Salah al-Din and Anbar, which are contrary to the agreements," Rubaie told al-Masalla in response to US troop movements in some provinces and US President Trump's statement that US forces in Iraq are to monitor Iran. And the Iraqi laws, which require the presence of foreign troops on the ground on the ground, and therefore the movement of these forces, a flagrant interference.

"We are working in the bloc of Sadikon with the political blocs in parliament, to pass a law obliging the Iraqi government to remove these forces, especially since the former Iraqi parliament issued a resolution in 2018, in this regard."

"There is a search by the political blocs to issue a binding law, to remove these forces, and in case of failure to exit for each recent incident."

"If these forces refrain from going out, they will be occupied forces. They know how the Iraqis deal with the occupation forces and how they managed to get the largest military force that came in 2003, and we regret it in late 2011, so the previous experience is still present in the American administration. You can repeat it again. "

In addition, the former judge and legal expert Ali al-Tamimi explained to the "Masala" legal aspects in the case of the American presence on Iraqi territory, as follows:
1. Iraq is still under Chapter VI of the Charter of the United Nations of Article 33 to 38, the stage of testing and control of Iraq that it does not threaten international security and the return of chaos or clashes in Iraq could lift sanctions to Chapter VII that is, Iraq is still in the stage of international tutelage.

2. America has with Iraq agreements, the first on the exit of US forces and implemented 2011 and the Americans came out and the second is still the window is the security and economic cooperation and the House of Representatives can cancel, and notify the United States.

3. Iraq needs international diplomacy on the subject with nine US military bases and action at the United Nations.

4. America wants to watch Iran and wants the costs of expenses for the war in Iraq and has fortified bases like Al-Assad, which spent 4 billion dollars and talk about beating the Americans will complicate the scene can not be with the existence of official government institutions and international diplomatic methods.

What is the Assad base that Trump cares about? Why did the military leaders and the American politicians object to his statements?

The US State Department said in a statement to CNN that the US mission in Iraq remains the same, after US President Donald Trump's proposal that the United States use a base in Iraq as a means of monitoring Iran's anger against Iraqi MPs. "Trump said in an interview with CBS on Sunday, February 3, 2019." All I want to do is to be able to observe our military base and cost a lot of money to build it in Iraq, "Trump said. Its excellent place to see a We are going to maintain constant surveillance and follow-up, and if there is any problem, if there is a move from any party to make nuclear weapons or something from We will be aware of this before they present it. "

"One of the reasons I want to keep this rule is because I want to use it a bit to monitor Iran, because Iran is the real problem," he said, adding that he did not intend to use the US base to attack Iran but only to monitor it.

What is Assad's base?

It was planned in 1975 according to a scheme called SUPER BASES to take advantage of the lessons of the 1967 setback.

It is located 108 km west of Ramadi, near al-Baghdadi. It was called Qadisiyah base before 2003.

It was built in 1980 and completed in 1987 by a consortium of Yugoslavian companies at a cost of $ 280 million to accommodate 5,000 military personnel, such as shelters, fortified warehouses, military barracks and fortified airfields as well as stadiums and service buildings.

During the war with Iran, it was home to the helicopters and the MIGS 25.

In 1991, it was subjected to intensive bombing with laser bombs from the International Coalition in the Gulf War.

In 2003 Marines occupied the base and remained stationed there until 2011.

Is the second largest air base in Iraq and was the military version of the Green Zone, according to Wikipedia.

From the end of 2014, the base included 300 soldiers, a trainer, a US consultant and aircraft for the International Alliance.

By 2015, most of Baghdad's near-al-Baghdadi city had been occupied and CBS said eight suicide bombers had managed to enter the base but were killed immediately.

In 2007, US President George W. Bush visited al-Qaeda and met Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and President Jalal Talabani.

Al Qaeda later visited Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Secretary Robert Kates.

In 2018, US President Donald Trump and his wife on Christmas Eve visited a secret visit.

 reactions

Retired General Mark Hertling, who led forces in Iraq earlier in an interview with CNN, said what President Trump had said "was incomprehensible to him."

"I'm not sure that Iran can be monitored from within Iraq," he said, adding that the US military was in Iraq to support its government in its war against a "pre-emptive" organization rather than to monitor other countries in the region. Strategic level ".

Former US Secretary of State Tony Blinken said that "Trump's comments may be the worst in our quest for Iraqi support for us to maintain some kind of military presence in Iraq."

"The last thing the Iraqis think is to be a sort of proxy battlefield with Iran or a launching pad for an attack on Iran, which will only send Iraqi politicians to say, 'We do not want the Americans to stay in Iraq, which makes it possible,' he said. "He said.

"The Trump comments put the Iraqis in a critical position," said Alex Fatanka, a Fellow of the Washington Institute for Middle East Studies.

"It is not logical to ask two neighboring countries in the Middle East not to have relations," said Fatana, a political analyst. "It's like a state from the Middle East and says to the United States that you do not have relations with Canada." A major US-led operation in the Middle East. There must be a diplomatic clarification of the circumstances of what Trump intended to avoid serious regional political reactions. "

Iraqi foreign minister: US military in Iraq at Baghdad’s request

Iraqi foreign minister: US military in Iraq at Baghdad’s request

WASHINGTON DC (Kurdistan 24) – Speaking to Kurdistan 24 in Washington DC, where he attended a Ministerial Conference of the Defeat-ISIS coalition, Iraqi Foreign Minister, Mohammed al-Hakim, affirmed that US forces were in Iraq “according to an agreement and request from the previous Iraqi Prime Minister and the current Prime Minister.”

Hakim explained that Baghdad was in “continuous talks with the American side,” on this issue, and he had discussed it with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Hakim also explained that the US military presence did not involve combat troops, but “only military advisors and trainers, who are helping our army.”

“So I wonder why some people in Iraq want to make this subject a big issue,” he said.

Increasingly, members of the Iraqi parliament, including those from the bloc of the popular cleric, Muqtada al-Sadr, as well as the pro-Iranian bloc of Shi’ite militias, led by Hadi al-Ameri, are calling for a vote to terminate the US military presence there.

The two blocs represent the top two winners in last May’s elections. As Michael Pregent of the Hudson Institute recently explained, the leading parties in Iraq’s parliament are anti-American, “and they’re asking for the immediate exit of Americans from Iraq.”

In contrast to the problematic nature of the US military presence in the Arab areas of Iraq, the US is welcome in the Kurdistan Region, where it now has a major military facility at Erbil International Airport.

In fact, that has pretty much been the case since the end of the 1991 Gulf War, when Iraq’s Kurds, protected by Operation Provide Comfort, succeeded in throwing off Saddam Hussein’s tyrannical and cruel regime.

In 1993, the two leaders of the Kurdistan Region—Masoud Barzani, head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and Jalal Talabani, head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan—told this reporter in separate discussions that a US air base in the Kurdistan Region would be most welcome.

Twelve years later, Talabani became President of Iraq (something unimaginable in 1993.) In 2005, Talabani visited Washington, meeting both President George W. Bush and US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Kamran Karadaghi was Talabani’s chief of staff and accompanied him to Washington. Karadaghi recalled to Kurdistan 24 Talabani’s remarks then about a US base.

In the press conference following his meeting with Rumsfeld, Talabani suggested that the US “should establish a permanent military base in the Kurdistan Region,” while affirming, “The Kurds would welcome it.” Asked by journalists for his response, Rumsfeld replied that while Talabani was president of his country, and he could make decisions, “I am not the president, and it is not for me to decide.”

In 2005, much of the Bush administration still believed it had won in Iraq. Rumsfeld famously denied that an insurgency existed and claimed that the violence there was insignificant. Others strongly disagreed, and the next year, Rumsfeld was obliged to resign.

Fourteen years after Talabani’s visit to Washington, as the US finds itself still fighting in Iraq, Talabani’s offer may well be worthy of serious reconsideration.

Alawi said that "all political blocs, including the Kurdish and Sunni blocs do not want to extend the stay of US forces, forcing the US side to exert political and political pressure against those blocs." He stressed "the insistence of parliament to pass the law to withdraw US troops from Iraq."

The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar revealed on Saturday that US officials had offered "kickbacks" to Iraqi lawmakers to urge them to reject a law calling for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.

According to the newspaper, it was known from the deputies who accepted "gifts material": Kazem al-Otaibi and Ziad Ahmed of the coalition «National» headed by Iyad Allawi, and Nahdah Zeid of the «list of the Iraqi decision» led by Osama Najafi. Ending / 25 d

American bribes to officials and deputies to prevent the law of withdrawal .. These are the names of those who received ..
