Washington was quick to respond to al-Maliki and announced its full support for the President of the Republic Fuad Masum, after a violent attack launched by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, Iraqi President.

President Fuad Masum appointed Haider al-Abadi as the country's prime minister, replacing a defiant Nuri al-Maliki with a member of his own party.

It wasn't clear whether al-Maliki would peacefully relinquish power or what impact the situation would have on the country, which is already torn by a threat from Islamist militants so brutal that they crucify people and brag about it online.

Help little oh me out please. In the list of candidates that was floating around last week, was't this guy described as another version of Maliki? If I am correct then this won't resolve anything. NadA will change and Iraq will go to ISIS and I will have to work till I die instead of working to help feed the poor in this country after an RV. Either way there appears to be a very interesting week shaping up.

I didn't read about the " violent " attack

Hmm now that makes a huge differance

I guess trying your last option of filing a court case is now concidered violent
