Iraq crisis: Snowglobe7 read US to send an additional 300 troops to beef up security at embassy in Baghdad.  State Dept temporarily moving staff to other location.  UN says more than 2,400 people killed in Iraq in June.  It doesn’t count for casualties in Anbar province, controlled by militants.  Iraq’s new parliament ends its first session early after political impasse.  Lawmakers under pressure to choose new PM to form inclusive government to fight Islamic militants.  ISIS leader Abu al-Baghdadi calls on muslims to immigrate and battle non believers.  ISIS proclaimed a pan-islamic Caliphate in Iraq and Syria.

 

Ukraine crisis: Umbertino reported Ukrainian president ends unilateral ceasefire that failed to stop violence.  Pres. Poroshenko says we will attack and we will free our country.  The fighting has been intensified after end of ceasefire.  Ukrainian forces using aircraft and artillery against pro-Russian separatists in east of country.

 

Other news:  Geographer wonders why Israel’s military carries out arrest raid hours after discovery of bodies of 3 teenagers.  They were kidnapped than 2 weeks ago.  Israel also launched airstrikes in Gaza against dozens of Hamas targets.  Strikes are in response to barrage of rockets fired into Israel since Sunday.  Our prayers go to the families and may the Lord give them peace and cover them with His grace.  Sundog shakes his head to hear dozens feared dead after car bomb explodes in NE Nigeria.  Extremist group boko haram being blamed; they’re suspected of other recent bomb attacks.  Secy Kerry says time running short for Iran nuclear agreement.  He adds Iran should agree to steps needed to assure world program will be peaceful.  Viciousdoggie wonders what makes Japan’s cabinet allowing military to use force in some cases to defend other nations.  One of the biggest changes to its security policy since WWII.  Chess is in Hong Kong witnessing a big rally in Hong Kong today to push for greater democracy.  Tens of thousands marched peacefully, angry over China’s warning it holds ultimate authority.

 

Dow gained 129 points at trading today, making record highs for Dow industrials, S&P 500, Dow transports and Russell 2000.  Thriver is hoping to hit a jackpot with IPO : Mineva Neurosciences (NERV), a biopharma firm begins trading today at $6/share.  Also Investar Holding begins trading today at $14/share.  General Motors (GM) went up 3.5% today.  Up, up and away, helium stock, that’s what they called GoPro as the stock nearly doubles from IPO price of $24 last week, the stock closed at $48.79, gaining 20% today.  FTC approves Actavis (ACT)  and Forest Lab (FRX) merger, on condition they give up rights to 4 drugs.  Precious metal was down a bit today, gold closed at $1,326, silver at $21.01 and copper at $3.19.

 

From Dinar land: Saint read today was the first day of parliament after the elections.  Members of the new parliament were sworn in both languages : Arabic and Kurdish.   After the swearing in, the Speaker of the House Osama al-Nujaifi adjourned the session until next Tuesday after Sunni and Kurdish members walked out because Shiite blocs failed to name a PM, leaving Maliki as a care taker PM.  The blocs will have to work harder now to form a major coalition.  Boosterbglee heard Ministry of Transportation stated they will receive delivery of the fourth wide bodied jetliner from Boeing this month. Boeing will deliver one plane per month for the next 45 months.  Iraqi Airways is expanding its routes almost on monthly basis.   Vietnam1969 confirmed they put to sleep 60 aliens in Mosul in Nineveh province in the daring attack to the aliens.  Sandfly and his team aided the raid from the air.  Strolld2 heard security sources says ISIL tries to expand to Diyala province which mostly Sunni areas. As soon as ISIL declared its establishment and changed name to “Islamic State” and named Abu Bakr-al-Baghdadi as it’s Caliphate over all muslims  have created more enemies in Iraq and the world in general.  It will make it easier to sway tribes that initially supported ISIL. Tankdude thought it was nice of The ministries of Agriculture and Trade supplying markets with enough food items to last well beyond Ramadan and keeping the prices down.  The only price goes up is transportation fee as fuel price goes up to the closure of Baiji refinery.  A-J516 was in a conversation with a member of parliament who wants to remain anonymous says after “a real unity government” is formed, the focus will be on the economy and monetary policies that will affect the daily life of all Iraqis. 

 

From Rumor land: Tlar says it will not be balloon and fireworks everywhere for the rv as US government wants to keep it quiet.  Tlar added until the new government is seated, rv is on hold and by the way the rate will be north of $3.25 and south of $3.60Millionday is excited as smart cards are supposed to be loaded and usable today.  Frank26 thinks 2nd has great potential.  Delta says right now Iraq has the support of the whole world.  Chattles reports progress is being made in Iraq by swearing in 255 deputies today.  Mt. Goat believes parliament is officially seated, they still need new speaker to complete parliament.
