coolbeans
"the ruling power to discourage demand for the withdrawal of confidence from the Maliki" Means the Sadrist "discourage the demand" for the withdrawal of confidence. Or in other words there will be no vote of no confidence on Maliki. Malaki stays and the Earbil agreement moves forward. All good news.

Luigi1
If Maliki stays or goes is not that big an issue. Parliament walking out in protest or going on strike is a big deal. Key Bills like the Tariff Bill, GOI, Erbil & WTO put on hold can be disasterous & set the timetable back months or even years. Iraq cannot afford an impass at this time. 5

TonyDownTheShore
This is good news, I just hope they mean what they say, 48 hours and for Maliki to agree and implement Erbil agreement or he gets kicked to the curb, one way or the other looks like this ride is about to get faster, thanks for the post.
