redsand
I think these readings will go fast...all three of them. Why? Its a hunch..IMHO. Parliament seems to be eager to work. With Iran being $%#$^#^, I think Iraq is trying to be more united and become stronger to handle these neighborly feuds.

Carrello
If "soon" feels like forever , what the heck is "later date " gonna be like ??? Menopause................... I'm just glad to hear that they are talking about things that are relative to the currency. There are other laws I'd like to see them work on more, such as the budget, HCL, etc. But they read for the second time the Provident Fund bill, which is the customs and tariffs bill. Importante' Unfortunately this goes against the idea that the LD's are already printed, and also Bondlady's theory that they were in the small auctions. Of course with such an attention to detail why is Feb 5th suppposed to be the new holiday celebrating their prophets birth when he was born April 26 Muhammad (c. 26 April 570 – 8 June 632;[1] It has been said that this is a new holiday, but after looking Muslim holidays up on Wikipedia, this holiday's date was listed for 2010 and 2011. I wish it were new for all the obvious reasons.

Why would the Kurds language be included in the currency, if they were going to succeed from the federation of Iraq and become an independant state? IMO; This is a formality anyway because the CBI is independant of the GOI. This is a formality also because the vote is an acceptance of the printing cost that the CBI is going to charge the GOI. I still believe the currency is already printed and ready to go.
Carrello
Lets also just focus on if it RV's, we can exchange the currency we are holding onto for electronical cash. Don't worry with whats printed just yet. It still can happen anyday as long as they are getting along. And they can use usd in the meantime. Otherwise, they could have passed a law outlawing the dollar.
DetroittoAZ
This could simply be a formality or "rubber stamp" to OK the currency prior to release. It doesn’t necessarily mean it has not been printed. Many of the more reputable people (Adam & Bondlady for example) believe it has. Stamp is a idea!!!!

jetphyxr
Unfortunately this goes against the idea that the LD's are already printed, and also Bondlady's theory that they were in the small auctions. I'm sorry but I cannot find the specific article right now(archived on a DVD). The lower denoms have been printed in three languages. Folks, hopefully, this charade is almost over. Think about it, just for a second...there are moments in life that are life changing. Perhaps, this may be one of them!
Carrello
This could simply be a formality or "rubber stamp" to OK the currency prior to release. It doesn’t necessarily mean it has not been printed. Many of the more reputable people (Adam & Bondlady for example) believe it has. Just a thought: The lower denominations were printed in 2003 and are in storage. Ready to go. One of the Kurds adament criteria is the inclusion of the language on the currency, and this is part of the Erbil agreement. Perhaps this is just a formalilty, as you say, amhvl, in order to get Erbil finalized. It would cost millions and millions of dollars to re-print the lower denominations and maybe the Kurds decided to be reasonable (they are they only ones) and graduate the new lds into the system as needed in the future. Many have said the life of a paper note in this environment could be as little as six months, although with the sucess of the electronic banking system, the life expectancy of currency will be extended. The good news? Here goes: First, in their article yesterday about what would be voted on today, there was no mention of this reading. Obviously, somehow, it got re-prioritized and moved up on their schedule. Fabulous! Secondly, we've all seen them use crazy names for these bills, whether it is from poor translation or.......when they just hack a line out of the bill and call it that. Examples in this same article are: -bill for the care of women that do not support her proposal Welfare Act childhood -first reading of the proposed law the grant of monthly sports heroes Understand what I mean? Just because they're referring to the "languages" doesn't mean that that's the subject of the bill. The bill is about CURRENCY - that's a good thing to hear? Damn right it is. Thirdly, I never believed that they would even mention any currency law that they would be acting on in the press. Remember, they control the media's access to parliament. My belief was that if the bill for currency ever came up, that they would excuse the media from the session, and do both readings consecutively, behind locked doors. They called this a "first reading". It is entirely possible (IMO) that they did both. All right, you all can hit me now, but not in the face, OK? Fnbplanet, your theory sounds solid to me. Damn..you people have made me run out of +'s already this morning....shame on you people... Boys and girls if you can't tell I'm in a great mood this morning....great day to be a dinarian...JMO Hmmm, biscuits and gravy this morning? +1 for you!
