  1. Iran's military forces are mostly defensive and to keep the population under control. They do most of their offensive work through funding terrorist and surrogate/puppet forces. They would only conduct this attack with the mind to split the Middle East and plunge it into a war between Israel and her allies vs. Iran and their allies, using an Israeli counter strike against Iran proper. The Abraham accords will play a very significant role and may squelch any further actions as the Saudis would side with Israel as would other countries that signed the accords. China and Russia might try and take advantage of the situation but only in their respective theaters (Ukraine and Taiwan) There might be a flurry of violence then things will deescalate, and things will probably calm down. Iran does not want a final showdown with the West.
  2. The Camens Islands is a country with a thriving offshore banking business . A lot of money moves through their banks.
  3. The first part of the VA. overhaul bill passed on Tuesday (99-1) , I see that the way that this was to be paid for (a republican sticking point) with money originally ear marked for defense. (troops in Afganistan and money that was to be saved from military drawdown) This money has not even been fully procured and if we have to drawdown our military the money should be used to pay down the debt , not for political freebies. (I am a disabled vet. and yes the VA. needs work but throwing money and adding more services before they can get a handle on the things they need to do now would throw the whole thing into a tail spin.) As for tax breaks for billionaires and millionaires , You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich (President Abraham Lincoln) over taxing these guys will not help the economy , our government has a spending problem . (They spend more money on things like Solindra ($560 Mil.) or global warming ($5 billion) how about that money going to vets. instead.
  4. You are going to use English common law for your argument , you've obviously never heard of The Church of England , you know the established Christian state religion of the UK . US law is based somewhat on British common law but basic things , like "thou shall not kill" , steal , or bear false witness (that's lie) comes from the Judeo Christian faith , so yes you can say our laws reflect on the predominate religion of our Nation. You also need to read the Declaration of Independence pay close attention to " God given rights".
  5. Our country was founded on Christian values and the Bill of rights was written so there would be no established religion. "Under God" was added under president Eisenhower in 52 to stick a thumb in the eye of the Soviets.
  6. The Constitutional convention is what the states are calling for . (You can only amend the Constitution not fundamentally change it) Some of the subjects to be discussed are term limits for congress and the supreme court , and getting rid of the 27th amendment (That's when senators became an elected official instead of being appointed by state governors , to give state governments representation in the federal government.) Any new amendments must be ratified by 3/5's(32) of the of the state legislatures . So no it not going to change our country in any major way. I think you should concentrate on what's going on with the current administration , like changing a law or choosing what part of a law to enforce through executive order and regulation , that should worry you more than a Constitutional convention.
  7. I believe the active military would button up on thier bases and sit it out. (not alowed to conduct military operations on U.S. soil and would be politicly prudent) The state National Guard units might back the Feds but at about 30% , due to desertions and possibly whole units going against the Feds. Any attempt by the goverment to subdue the population by force would be suicidal for that administration. The only way an administration could survive would be to be calling in UN troops and they are some of worst , undisplinned troops I've seen in my 26yrs of service. When I retired I let my fellow soldiers know if they ever took up arms against citizens , they will see me coming the other way.
  8. What needs to happen is we need to pull off the labels (democrat, Republican, Lib , Conservaive etc.) and state what we believe, should we have a larger or smaller goverment , regulation or free market determination. You need to examine what you believe and stick by it , and also examine the party banner your standing under and see if they are representing your values.(you might be surprised by what you find) In the imortal words of P.J. O'Rouke "I started out as a Democrat , but I got better."
  9. I have one question for you . Do you believe that the average citizen can govern themselves? A simple yes or no answer will suffice. (I know libs have trouble with yes or no answers)
  10. If you want to use a scientific study , research who is conducting it,(where they got thier education/political leanings) and thier backers.(who's paying for said study ,because they will influence the outcome) Just because some one has colledge education , dosn't make them intelligent. It just means they can parrot some lib prof. who teaches what they believe, not what is always true. They learn some one elses truth. I can sight a study that colledge grads know less about civics (goverment) than the average high school grad. by 50%. (princeton topped out at 38% the average high school grad got a 81%) So by that I can conclude that most people with colledge degrees that vote democrat , are indoctronated zombies.(some are even dead) And racial tollerance is not somthing exibited by the left (NAACP, la Raza , CAIR ,Robert Byrd etc.) Libs are always quick to point fingers but will never take responsibility for thier actions. (its soceitys fault) Conservatives are more about what works and smaller goverment , not behavior control and goverment programs.
  11. There's only so much Dinar news a day, and sometimes none at all. This "comunity" needs to break up the monotney with rumors , political discusions , music and oppinions. It keeps us from going stark raving mad, after reading about the ineptness of the Iraqi goverment or other things things that they frustrate us with on a dailey basis. All appriaciated and necesary , THANKS GUYS!!
  12. The Aztecs enslaved and murdered thier neighboring tribes in some of the most brutal ways imaginable. The Egyptians enslaved caucasions (yes white people) and used them to do menial labor in some of the harshests conditions for 5000 years (we got over it) The first slave owner in in the then American colonies was a black man , who's leagal decision by a Brittish appointed magistrate set precidence for furthering slavery in the future U.S. And the white man did not go into the African intirior and hunt down blacks for slaves , it was rival tribes and fellow Africans who sold them to North and South Americans. (Brazil continued to import slaves long after the U.S. stopped in 1865 and they imported about 15X's that the U.S. did.) Man's inhumanity to man has long long history covering all races and regions. We have a unique oppertunity to break the cycle and stop with the "racial score keeping" that is perpetuated by certian people who's living depends on furthering racial division. (look around you can see who these people are)We need to stop listening to the "race baitors" and start "judging people by the content of thier carechter". (your color does not give you a pass to act like jerk)
  13. The brightest star ever to come out of West Point acadamy (the only cadet to NEVER RECIEVE A DEMERIT through out his entire 4 years there) and an inspiration to both the North and South. A man of deep convictions , he points to the morality that his faith brings and is required of those who lead in times of war and peace. It has been my experience that there are no aethiests in foxholes , and I have yet to meet "a raging liberal" who was combat arms in my 26 years of service.
  14. To be forgiven one needs to be repentent in ones own heart. Forgiveness is not a given , it is earned through action. (If Jane is truly sorry ,why doesnt she donate 10% of all her money to the VA and donate her time to help veterans.)
  15. If she was sincere about here apoligy , I might consider it, but too much of recent behavior has given her away . She's still the same Jane she was in the 60's. Just a sad old lady trying to salvage her image , but like any actor she's a good liar , I've seen her interviews and shes still the same old commie. Jesus gave his life for our sins against god , she needs to answer for her sins against this country , and as a veteran with many friends who did serve in Vietnam , I will not forgive or forget her treason.
  16. "War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." John Stuart Mill War is an ugly buissness but by saying no war is worth it, then two world wars and Korea were not worth it , except to the people we freed and the economys (Germany,Japan,South Korea etc.)that we helped rebuild. These other wars we were involved in cost more lives in single battles than all of Iraq . (WW I the battle of the Somne over 900,000 live in a 3 month period, WW II during a Normandy beach rehearsle over 5,000 deaths during a single training day) I've been in 2 wars , if we're not ready to take causalties , then we have become (in Bin Ladens words)" the paper tiger" and our enemys will know all they have to do is drag it out and we will eventualy leave handing victory to them and have accomplished nothing except emboldening our enemys.(remember after the invasion of Iraq Khadafi gave up his weapons of mass destruction program and started cooperating with the UN) We need to finish the wars we get involved in , good or bad we need to finish them through victory instead of backing out because a portion of the population is not behind the current administration. We owe nothing less to the people who serve in our armed forces.
  17. For those of you who were against the Iraq war , I suggest you talk with some of the Kurds that were displaced by Sadam when he gassed thier village or visit a mass grave. (very sobering) Sadam was a brutal tyrant who was systamaticly killing his people. He didn't back terrorism unconditionaly , but for the right price he harbored them (the terrorist wanted for throwing that disabled jewish man off a ship and killing him in the 70s was found in Bahgdad) and provided training areas and support. Don't forget the 14 UN violations he was currently flaunting (maybe hans Blix could have written him another strongly worded letter)AS for weapons of mass destruction , well Syria seems to have a chemical stockpile (hmmm?) and Irans nuke program seems to have all of a sudden have gotten under way. (????) And when the dinar takes off do you think the war will have not only paid for itself , but put alot of US in a better place. So yes.
  18. I didn't realize italy had a credit rating. Give them time they'll drag down the euro just like they did the lira.
  19. What happen in Iraq concerning the rebuilding is they left it up to the military (to rebuild infrastructure , put in the electrical grid etc.) instead of bringing in civil engineers (experts in thier respective fields). Rebuilding is not what the military was trained for , but if they are given a task they will do thier best to accomplish the mission. The result was alot of waste and fraud due to inexperience with rebuilding.
  20. Sorry I hated this anti American , Castro wanna be D-Bag , and the world is a brighter place without him.
  21. Where do they find these people? It just go's to show ya , excrement rises to the top.
  22. We are a Nation of laws , not mob rules. If our goverment and our appointed officials refuse to enforce that law , it is our duty to find new guardians for our future. If we can do it peacfuly , great ! If it comes to bloodshed , so be it. But I will not live under an oppresive goverment.
  23. Generals tend to be political creatures , don't get me wrong there are good ones but they have to be on contstant guard against infighting within the general staff , generals will not do anything to overthrow the current administration , from fear of loosing and the consequences that they would have to face. The modern general is nothing like thier conterparts from Vietnam back. I think the pentagon will sit out any hostilitys and it will be up to division commands to handle local affairs as they see fit. There will be mass desertions from military units as individuel soldiers declare their alligiance's to which side hold thier values. This is a worst case senario , we can still pull back from the brink without bloodshed , and I hope to god we do.
