Fantasy, where do you draw the line

Over here in New Zealand, they have a program called Taboo. It gets into the little dark corners of what goes on behind the curtains of “proper” society. This morning they had a section on cross dressing in Japan and fantasy virtual worlds on the internet.

Many Japanese participate in cross dressing as their favorite Anime Character; there is even a restaurant in Tokyo where the waitresses are actually men in Anime drag. And they were HOT!

Anyway, when it got to discussing on-line fantasy world, it concentrated on Second Life, which you can read about here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Life

Here’s an advert for it:

Basically, it is a virtual world where people take on an avatar life. And in this world there are no rules. So anything goes, including incest. One of the main characters/players was interviewed, he is an American man that lives in Florida, is happily married and has two kids. But on line, he is married to an avatar (who is a real woman living in Texas), he also has two daughters that he often has sex with. And guess what, his “real wife” is OK with this because to her “ it’s not real”.

Ok, I’m as liberal as they come. I’ve always said that what happens between two consenting adults in the privacy of their own home is fine with me. But….maybe just maybe, this is too much.

On one side of the argument, isn’t reading romance books, watching porn, or even going to strip club similar? After all, none of that is real either. But this has taken it up a notch.

Thoughts?

I'm with you Tiff. It is too much. The more that is o.k. and accepted in the fantasy world then the more that is accepted and o.k. in the real world. Movies, TV, video games, internet stuff, isn't it all just fantasy?....I know that's a bit of a stretch but it seems that the general media is bombarding us with stuff that 40 years ago people would have come unglued about. Desensitising society, to accept a one world order? Maybe..... jmho. God speed to you.

That is very very strange and sick. <_<

But, really I've been too busy fantasizing about your pics Tiff.

Oofta!!

I believe the word your looking for Krome is "Ufdah"... but I googled it to be sure... here is what I got...

Ufdah... "an expression of emotional or physical exhaustion, surprise or disbelief, used primarily by Norwegians and people of Scandinavian descent in the urban metropolis of Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota."I guess I'm "busted"... I had no idea how some of the local "dialects" varied from location to location!!! rolleyes.gif I was born in MN... and raised in WI.... can you guess my descent??? laugh.gif

Tiffany dear.. all I can say is that if we don't stand for something we will fall for everything. If this is wrong... and I believe it is, ya gotta ask yourself "why?". If we don't have any parameter's, and no moral compass, then the saying "anything goes"... does! I am not going to go any further than that, but the ramifications are pretty frightening if there are no boundaries.

Thanks for sharing dear... I had no idea things were getting that far off!dry.gif

Nice topic, Tiffany.

This reminds me of the movie LAWNMOWER MAN, where a scientist develops a full body suit virtual reality "game", where all the player's senses are electronically conveyed through the suit, and wired into his brain...and into the VR program.

to me the movie and your topic remind me that, hey....is'nt this life we live right now not much more than a VR game as well?

Another great work of art I recall is a painting that shows an artist, painting a picture of an artist painting a picture of an artist...etc...etc...into infinity.

So the VR games that our clever programmers have invented are like that painting...where you could go forward deeper into VR levels....but now, what about if we go BACKWARDS?

And we come back to us, you, me..everybody? and let's go back, or UP one level. You'll find that Tiffany and Adam Montana and Elmstreet...everybody.....we are all just Avatars living inside a very very cleverly designed game called LIFE on Earth. it's a game, or a ride in a amusement park...but a lot of folk take it sooooooooo seriously, they start wars...or they go to fight in wars against other folk who take this amusement park soooooo seriously too that they start some sort of trouble that makes other people feel threatened...when they should just stop and breathe...and realize we are just avatars in the game of life....

I refer back to this great stand up comic (social commentator, really... Bill Hicks (RIP)...he said it perfectly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2B413NljCwI&feature=related the 3 minute version

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlrKW7fh_Bo&feature=related the 5 minute version, including a short bit on mind altering drugs...funny and worthwhile...

in my signature I state: Love is the only truth...everything else is just illusion..the only place the world exists...is in our minds...see movie THE MATRIX. a great movie...a great analogy...also the movie AVATAR....perfect!!!! i mean...the main character was NOT the blue creature...he was a paraplegic US marine, whose mind was transferred into the blue native creature, right?

And by the way...in the movie AVATAR...who were the real terrorists?? Right..a great big clue right there... here is a clip from George Carlin (RIP) about the people who are so heavily invested in keeping this game of life seriously tilted in their favour.

OK, so let's reason here....

We know for a fact that we are not our body...the body is just a vehicle...a kind of car to run around in.

We are also not our brain...the brain is just a mechanism for decoding electro and electro-magnetic impulses received through the 5 (or 6) senses...smell, sight, audio, touch, taste and intuition.

So what and where are we then? We are not our mind...so what are we? if I can use the internet as a kind of analogy....our Sub-Conscious is like the world-wide-web..the internet.

our conscious mind is like a computer terminal, tuned into the internet...able to access, store and qualify and quantify a whole lot of information....but realize that our sub-conscious (or "other-than" conscious) is 30 billion times bigger and more powerful than our conscious mind.

does our sub-conscious mind really live somewhere between our ears? i don't believe it does....so WHERE are we? Like Bill Hicks said...it is most likely that we are in a very cleverly created matrix like dream world, and we are just the imaginations of ourselves. We really are ALL One...through the soul internet, if you like...all connected...so why do we fight one another? Why the separation? jews, Muslims Christians, cowboys and Indians, Russians and Americans etc..etc...those divisions are just illusions...we are all One, split into billions of souls...trillions if you count animal experiences....all experiencing a slightly different life.

that makes us all unique, because NOBODY can have YOUR unique experience of this game called life. that makes you unique...that makes your life sacred and holy....and this is one of the reasons why the Japanese people bow to one another...one of the reasons is that they are taught to recognize the sacred, holy component in each individual.

In the Christian bible, there are references too: "If ye hurt even the least of these people, ye also hurt Me..." yes, precisely!! we are all connected.

so what matters is not your past....your future...well...your future can be shaped by your actions and decisions you make NOW...each living moment is a brand new NOW that you can use or waste...choose Love or create Fear.....all your choice....

This Life is the ultimate Virtual Reality game, where you CAN create your life AS YOU GO.....these losers who go into man made VR games...they don't realize that in the life we already have, you can create any dream, any fantasy you want to create!!!

but.....like Bill Hicks and George Carlin stated so very well.....the controlling powers of this society we live in do NOT want you and i to realize that we have so much control...they NEED us to be dumbed down, which is why the Rockefeller foundation laid down the rules for the western education (training) system...to keep us dumb.....they need for us to NEVER realize our full potential...cos the moment we do...and I hope that the OCCUPY movements around the world discover that this is what their job aught to be....the moment we do realize our full potential...the elite's control system will fall down like the whimpy house of cards that it is.

Who gives power to the elite world controllers? We do...we hold them in place...we give our powers away by shopping at the mall for food every day, instead of learning to grow our own.

Our military give them power...remember...i know there are a lot of military personel on this site, so I'll try to be gentle with you....YOU ARE NOT WORKING FOR THE GOOD OF YOUR COUNTRY'S CITIZENS. You THINK you are, but you're really not...so who ARE you defending???

YOU ARE WORKING TO KEEP THE ELITE CONTROLLERS AND YOUR GOVERNMENT IN POWER. So what will you do, US Marines? What will you do when your government, your generals, your majors...when they ask you to open fire on your own fellow country men and women...just because their opinion differs from the opinion of your owners?

that time will come, i promise you.....and you'll have that special precious moment...that NOW...to make a life decision...do i shoot this person? or do i throw away my weapon and choose Love....cos...this life is just a game...it's just a ride. whatever you think matters...really doesn't matter at all.

Some people feel that they are going NOWHERE...i tell them to break that word up to feel more empowered...and that they can make instant choices....we turn NOWHERE into NOW HERE. yesss!

have a Beautiful and Powerul day everybody. You are all precious, holy and sacred and gorgeous.......GO RV!!

Well...the thing is the lines between fantasy and reality are getting blurred. A bit of role playing is one thing...like when I get dressed up as little red riding hood and the wolf ends up...well, never mind.

But when a wife thinks that this is harmless to their relationship, that's when it's time to start getting the white jackets out because that is just plain

yeah, Hi Tiff. if you look at my long drawn out response....and then allow me to make this point....I can imagine that somewhere in a kind of spiritual realm...there was an advert just like this one....advertising for life on this earth.....and you could be "born" into this world...and play games....buy stuff...just like in Virtual reality.....wooooooohhhhh!! now that opens a can of worms, don't it? what IS life? What is that money you use to buy your virtual reality STUFF?

Hi Tiffany.

We all have a fantasy world where we can dream of things we would like to accomplish or the people we would like to be. The results is determined by what we bring into those fantasies which shape the dreams. If I put good in, good comes out. If I put bad in, bad comes out. That is, the person usually responds to the way the spirit is trained. It is true that "as a person thinks, so is she." Without dreams there is no progress, but those dreams must be shaped and I determine what is "put into" my mind-scape.

The game you mentioned will destroy the lines between reality and fantasy. The people will start living the way they are being trained.

Nelg...couldn't agree more. Kind of reminds me of how the Wild West is sometimes depicted. No law, just survival.

But in this virtual world, what do they have to lose? If you can't die, if you can't be held accountable for hurting others, then what kind of order would exist? Wouldn't the very fabric of society break down? But I guess that's the point.

When I worked at a strip club (as a waitress mind you), I could see how our regulars would change as time went on. They would gain more courage and cross the line of what is acceptable behavior and that which is not. And then they would try to pull the same stuff outside the club. I know several that went to jail for sexual harrasement. They forgot that what goes on behind those doors is not reality and once you walk out, you are once again walking in a world with rules.

I got a kick out of the comment that even politics is fantasy...truer words have never been spoken!

Tiff, what's up with the change in your Avatar and your post. Are you seeking attention? As I recall you purport to be a young Christian.

I seriously doubt that the Members in DV Land are willing to share their sexual fantasies with you or others on this forum. Just sayin.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Ski

oops...sorry ski...I'll tone it down. I didn't mean to offend anyone! :)

Reminds me of the movie Matrix on steroids.
