Just had to toss this idea out, since the media will be in a shark-tank frenzy come Monday...

Isn't it a bit strange that a company named Standard & Poor would be announcing that America has a Poor Standard?

Here's how their phone call to the Prez went - "Hey Barry, your messed up finances are the result of your Poor Standard Operating Practice resulting in a Poor Standard of living for your People. Since you failed your AAA class, to help you figure this out, we are enrolling you in a 12 step program called 'AA'' (Ameriholics Anonymous). That way, you all can get over your drunken self-important self view and join the ranks of governments that are somewhat fiscally responsible. If you have any questions, please call 800.GOV.DEBT. Good luck and have a nice day!

Let's all cry in our (preferred adult beverage)... then wake up and start pushing this damn train back up the hill together before it crashes into a million soon-to-be orphaned kids...

GO RV!

Best!

Funny and perhaps, ohhhhh so true. From the looks of things, it appears that we are in need or a complete remodel of our system which is perhaps already on the way. The reduction in the credit rating will be the beginning of the reorganization. Now all we need are some honest, legitimate, and intentional representatives that will NOT sell us down the river for a buck eighty nine.

Namaste!

Are you, like millions of men all over the country, suffering from E.D (electorate dysfunction)? If so, do as I do....bend over, grab your ankles, call your doctor, and ask him/her if more debt is good for YOU!

Then take two stimulus bail-outs, and call your congressman in the morning and request that your name be added to the waiting list for waivers. Remember, results may vary (depending on who you vote for in 2012).

Right up front I have to admit that I voted for Obama and it appears that I (and my wife) made a terrible mistake. I (we) hadn't realized that tthis man seemingly has a socialistic agenda. Had not John McCain chosen Palin as his running mate I would have voted for him! I've taken alot of flack from my friends over his el®ection. On last night's NBC newscast, 'O' is seeking a new trade agreement with a dozen or so foreign countries including Vietnam which as a country is trying to obtain the manufacturing 'rights' of the American athletic shoe company 'New Balance' which, by the way, is the last wholly American shoe manufacturer left in our 50 states. For right now, NBC said, that the company does not want to go overseas. It just really bothers (annoys, irritates, and pisses me off) that the US would do business with a country that I and many other of my brothers fought against (and died). Damn them to h-ell!

So I'll bend over and grab my ankles like Jasperpous said and take my recessional medicine - off my soapbox now - sorry! Thanks for the post, wavggg.......

Rest easy Mark. It would not have mattered who you voted for. Both parties are run by the same group of bankers who are intent on breaking America's backbone so they can implement their NWO. If you notice they all at some time or other make references to this future vista with great reverence and longing. The way back in not to trust them but take power in your own hands. To stop being mesmerised by the TV, get out of debt, invest in gold and silver which they cannot touch, and STOP voting.

Sorry DinarC there is no complete re-modelling plans in place. In fact, what you have to look forward to is the further destruction of the dollar with another QE3.

Besides, a small group called the Electoral College chooses the President of the USA, and not the country's "voters." So no one who voted for BamBam should feel the least bit guilty about it. While their votes were counted, their votes didn't count, if you get what I mean. The election hoopla is just a show to entertain the crowd. It's technically known as a dog & pony show.

I do not think it is just Obama, I think it is the NUTS in the House and the Senate who are equally responsible for this mess in Washington. I think they need to take more the blame for their political grandstanding and their pontification and their whining. I ALSO THINK THAT OUR PRESIDENT even though we may not like him or agree with him deserves our RESPECT and when we stop treating our Elected President with respect we have lost respect for our country as a whole. His name is NOT BARRY. And I worry about my country as a whole when it's citizens do not even have the decency to show the proper respect to the President. And I felt the same way when they were making fun of George Bush too.

they are all guilty of messing this country up. republican, democrat, they all need to be replaced. i just wonder though how some could not see what a poor choice obama would be. he had 2 years into a first senate term. he missed most of the votes so no one could determine what he stood for. i am a lowly construction superintendent 1 year short of a college degree and i figured that much out. hope and change? i can only hope he is unable to push further change on our nation.

Your mistake was in downgrading Palen. She is stronger and more correct in her politics than either McCain OR Obama. And unlike your admittedly poor choice, Obama, her policies would be making this government work today, in addition to making our financial sector strong and keeping our currency vibrant. We wouldn't be in this mess with a president like her, whether male or female. And so far, the pickings for someone with as much presidential moxy as she has run slight-to-nil. Meantime, thank you for your service. That was a terrible war, and so many guys died, and others are left with permanent scars. Sadly, the nation was so ungrateful to you--to our collective shame. I was busy raising sons to take your place in case you didn't make it, but thank God you did all anyone could possibly do, and thank God again because

you came home. All I can do at this point is say a far-too-belated "Welcome Home!!" And again, thank you.

This is ridiculous. Of course we can make fun of Barry. He deserves it. After all, he grabbed a role meant for a far greater man or woman, and then didn't have the first clue how to use it except to ruin our country by implementing the plans of his Harvard heros, Cloward and Piven. He is in far over his leftist, socialist, academic head--or as he might say himself (if he were honest) he is in above his pay grade.

Standard and poor rated all the bad junk mortgages as AAA. That's how people were able to sell them, make money, and let us USA people be tossed under the bus. Then under congressional interview, S&P cry our rating is just an opinion not to hold any real data. Soooo when they say the USA is rated AA+, does it really mean anything?

For those that don't understand...The money has already been spent. They need to raise the debt ceiling to PAY for the debt we've already incurred.

If you want the government to spend less- you DON'T do it by NOT paying money you already owe. The only thing you are going to do by defaulting is destroying America's credibility in the financial world.

There are ways to shrink the government but that is not what is going on here. This is destruction..pure and simple.

The funny thing is- the same people in the "let it default" corner are also in the "Obama is trying to destroy America" corner when defaulting is a GOOD step in the direction of messing us up...I suppose it will all be worth it because SOMEHOW it will be Obama's fault.

Personally' date=' I am fed up. I'm fed up with Obama and I truly feel the actions of the right are borderline treason. This is NOT a game. It's embarassing what clowns we have in office representing us these days. Even my children have the sense to straighten this out.

When it is time to protest in the streets (which it is)...I am ready.[/quote']

This is what I said on July 26th.

The obstructionist WANTED to default...this is just a taste of what could have happened.

I blame Obama for letting this happen but I SQUARELY blame the idiots that thought it was a good idea to hold up the debt ceiling (something they KNEW had to be raised) in the name of political theater.

This political back and forth if messing our country up. We need to WAKE UP and do what's good for our NATION. Not our BS political parties.

Sorry Emily but it sounds like your trying to justify your vote for O-bummer. Anybody who didn't see this coming is spending too much time watching NBC, CBS and CNN and yes even FOX. This is as close to a Dictatorship as we have ever seen here. IMO the president has too much power in "executive orders". If it were not for the Tea party the two parties would have raised the debt ceiling and not even blinked. In the early stages of the Presidential election for 2012 all the same type loser politicians from both parties are already getting all the press. I can guarantee we'll have two losers just like Obummer and McCain next time around. I would suggest giving Ron Paul a shot. He just introduced a bill to get rid of the Federal Reserve and tells them to STICK there 1.6 Trillion dollars in interest we owe them. Why should we be paying interest on money they created out of thin air?? This would come right off the top of our national debt. http://www.ronpaul.com/ As for the rest, Congress and the Senate need to be Gutted. The Republicans were elected to Straighten this mess out and they just EF'ed UP big time! The world Bankers, the FED and a few wealthy elite are really running the show. The Constitution which is referenced on a regular basis has no relevance and most of all the Bill of rights have been shelved. If you think you have a voice let me ask you where all the screaming and yelling from the average citizen about the debt crisis got us?? Yep, you guessed it, another 2 Trillion on top of the 14 Trillion by next year. Now that's progress!!! And I still don't don't believe Barrack Hussien Obama was born in America, but that's another topic.

Well Actually I would have voted for Ron Paul, but I ended up voiting for John McCain, But Obama is our elected leader, and I do not agree with him. But he is the president of this country and I have to respect the office of President. I will always call him President Obama. Just like I did not agree with the former President Clinton but I always treated the office with respect by calling the President by his formal name, not by a stupid nick name. It drove me crazy when people called President Bush Gdub. That drove me nuts. But it is our current leaders in the House and in the Senate who are not Working together instead tearing this country apart instead of building it back up. And I blame the TEA PARTY or in my mind Bagger Activists who do not have a clear direction or voice instead they are mucking up the country. They would rather be white evangelical straight people than deal with any minority or homosexual.

Presidents have had "nick-names" forever... (Old Hickory)... not to mention the entire penchant for just calling them FDR, JFK, LBJ, etc.

It is not like calling them "*******"... it is an historically accepted way of politely reflecting a feeling about them, good or bad, without dropping to insults or rediculous kudos.

They, as elected leaders, need to know what we are feeling. This use of "nick-names" is a civil and polite way of showing either support and endearment or loathing and dissaproval.

(or would you rather we just throw tomatoes?) LOL
