nicklichter
The ONLY thing stopping me from going "all in" on this investment is the total lack of evidence that countries and billionaires have actually invested in this opportunity by purchasing Iraqi Dinars. I have heard RUMORS, with not a shread of evidence, that the U.S., China, Russia, France, UK, Raymond James, Donald Trump, Goldman Sachs and Bill Gates' financial advisor all have "pallets of Dinars" in storage somewhere just waiting to cash-in. Does ANYBODY have ANY proof of this? My main concern is this. If none of these big players actually have the large denoms in their possesion, then what's stopping Iraq from having an "in-country" redenomination of the 25,000 and 5,000 dinar notes? This would shut all of us out of our big payday, yes? 5

GIDad
If that evidence existed you couldn't get the Dinar for this 1=1168 rate. Read this site for the next ten days and make your decision on 12/16, the day after the.. RV

Do you REALLY think over 20 countries have forgiven Iraq several TRILLION in debt, out of the goodness of their heart? France, Germany, US, Canada, Australia are just a few countries that have forgiven Iraq a boatload of debt, in return for Dinar. This is the very way Bush promised us the war would end up not costing us a dime. It's also what is going to allow the US to buy cheap oil for life from Iraq. 2

Didnt say they did that for nothing.....what I said was there is no proof they are all holding trillions of dinar to make money off a revalue....there are so many other ways of them being compensated for the relief of debt that most of us probly couldnt even think of.....and you dont think there are MANY ways for the US to make money off Iraq either??? Bush never said that the citizens would be paid back.....just the govt....the country as a whole..... 3

I am not sure what you mean by goiing "all in" -- But it has been said many times on this site do not buy more dinar than you are willing to loose. Regardless of who has bought dinar should have no bearing on what you can afford to loose for yourself and your family. There are very few guarantees in life and even Donald Trump has lost millions of dollars on some of his investments. heck no! there is no proof. I wouldnt suggest going all in on any investment. BJinMontreal
From the article ... "Not long ago, the Internet buzzed with rumors that Donald Trump had sunk $30 million into the Iraqi dinar. The fact is, most serious investors wouldn’t touch the stuff. Those who do are generally average joes, people who plow no more than a few thousand into their portfolios. The abiding hope among such investors is that as stability returns to Iraq, its currency will be revalued — perhaps even reach parity with the dollar. If that happens, the Nebraska housewife with 800 bucks’ worth of bank notes stashed beneath her bed would wake up a millionaire. It’s this, the possibility of an abrupt and staggering windfall, that keeps people coming back for more.:

I was told they have nothing to do with the Dinar. Fidelity said the same thing. However, I think they have rules they have to follow since the dinar is not an internationally traded currency. They WILL trade it soon. IMO.

abridge
Would you tell your neighbor...you have invested in 100 M in Dinars ?? I looked up the article suggested in this forum and found this statement:...Anyone care to comment on this...? It isn’t illegal to sell dinars in America, or doesn’t appear to be — the Department of the Treasury merely recommends that Americans “[use] caution before purchasing Iraqi currency”—but Iraqi law makes it quite clear that money taken in and out of the country is supposed to be for personal use only.
