Al-Sumaria News - Local

Employees of many ministries and government departments took advantage of Sunday's holiday to demonstrate in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad to demand an adjustment to the salary scale, in a context that has become almost continuous.

According to the Al-Sumaria News correspondent, more than 400 people gathered from employees of the Ministries of Electricity, Municipalities, the Baghdad Municipality, and the Ministries of Health, Education, Agriculture, Culture, and Water Resources, while the employees came from all governorates.

The protesting employees said that their demonstrations came “after procrastination and procrastination by the General Secretariat and the Ministry of Planning, and according to the official books issued regarding delaying the amendment of the unified salary scale,” demanding “the Ministry of Planning to request a detailed database that concerns the salary scale of all state employees for the purpose of amending the salary scale.”

170,000 dinars / 1310 = $129.7 dollars a month

250,000 dinars / 1310 = $190.8 dollars a month

The citizens are in need of purchasing power…. Urgently !!!

Go stronger dinar

Go Purchasing power

US Congress salaries = $174,000 annually. Stayed the same since 2009.

Iraqi Ministers/Parliament = 170,000 dinar, looks pretty similar at a 1:1 rate. The bump to 250,000 dinar makes them higher paid than US Congress members at a 1:1 rate. They want the Dinar stronger than the Dollar and they want to be better than the US.

interesting 🤔
