The Governor of the Central Bank discussed, on Tuesday, the expansion of the branches of Western Union Company in Iraq.

A statement by the bank said that "the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, which CEO of Western Union for the Middle East, Africa and Europe, Mr. (Jean-Claude) and his accompanying delegation," noting that "Claude presented the company's vision to expand its business in Iraq and its desire to grant new agencies to Iraqi financial institutions, especially after the growth of the remittance service in Iraq."

The governor affirmed, "The bank's readiness to facilitate financial settlements for the company's agents operating in Iraq at the official exchange rate."

He added, "The Central Bank supports the Iraqi government's orientations in automating and controlling foreign transfers through the electronic platform, within the Iraqi and international rules and laws."

He pointed out that "Western Union is one of the leading and successful companies in this field inside Iraq."

The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, confirmed on Tuesday, the bank's readiness to facilitate financial settlements for Western Union agents.

A statement by the bank, received by (Baghdad Today), said that "Al-Alaq met with the CEO of Western Union for the Middle East, Africa and Europe, Jean-Claude, who presented the company's vision to expand its business in Iraq and its desire to grant new agencies to Iraqi financial institutions, especially after the growth of remittance service in Iraq."

The statement added that the governor confirmed the bank's readiness to facilitate financial settlements for the company's agents operating in Iraq at the official exchange rate, noting that "the Central Bank supports the directions of the Iraqi government in automating and controlling foreign transfers through the electronic platform within the Iraqi and international rules and laws."

Not to be negative because I like your positivity, I hope we'll see something this year. But I've prepared myself if we don't. I remember a few years back many of us thought it was Go Time & it wasn't. I do hope soon the citizens livelihoods are improved & us investors financial dreams come true!🤞🙏

His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mr. Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, met with the CEO of Western Union for the Middle East, Africa and Europe, Mr. (Jean-Claude) and his accompanying delegation.
Claude presented the company's vision to expand its business in Iraq and its desire to grant new agencies to Iraqi financial institutions, especially after the growth of remittance services in Iraq.
While His Excellency the Governor affirmed the bank's readiness to facilitate financial settlements for the company's agents operating in Iraq at the official exchange rate, adding that the Central Bank supports the Iraqi government's directions in automating and controlling external transfers through the electronic platform, within the Iraqi and international rules and laws, indicating that Western Union One of the leading and successful companies in this field inside Iraq.

The Governor of Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), Dr. Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, has met with Jean Claude Farah, Western Union's President for the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

According to a statement from Mr Farah on Linked In, they talked about how Western Union can further grow its presence across the country so that consumers can better connect with their loved ones around the world through remittances.

They also discussed how Western Union can support the digitization of money transfer platforms under Iraq's governing laws and global international standards.
