He has done a good job fighting for his political life, but alas, it is clear though he has won some battles he is losing the war. When mayor Pete beats you in the polls, you've got big problems. Like any leader there are those who will follow them off the cliff, but many followers will leave the charge before the road beneath their feet disappears.
