I had stated previously that I thought Tulsi was the Dems only viable candidate but the more I learn the more I see how the Dems  are all in just the same ole boat.  POWER, POWER POWER over the people is all they seek.  My last straw with Tulsi was when I found out that she supported Bernie Sanders in 2016.  She couldn't  support system" rel="">support Hillarious which we all understand but was willing to see our county fall into socialism rather than vote for anyone in the independent or Republican party.....this alone should tell us much about a person's patriotism  and love of our country.  To stand for Bernie is more than any of us should be willing to tolerate.  Tulsi is now on my black list.....the dems have once again defeated themselves....yep, every candidate the Dems have would be willing to "eat the babies" if they could win the Presidency including Tulsi.

Point well taken Barb.....there are a few addition things to add...

Gabbard was vice chair for the DNC in 2016.....an up and coming star in the party....

At the time she learned the nuances of how the DNC had rigged the Primary process so only Clinton could win......she resigned....the only choice left for her to support within the party was Sanders......even though she knew he had no chance to win....

Gabbard is all Democrat.....her Congressional voting record matches that of Pelosi at 95....

When the dust settled.....true to her party ties.......she threw her support to Clinton.....

It makes no difference to me who you support.....I'm just glad to see some involvement and critical thinking by some on this forum......

points well taken.  I consider myself a staunch Republican but even with that I could never vote for any party that was willing to disembowel our freedom and the sanctity of life.  I am afraid that this is and will be what our country will finally come to as many turn their own moral valves to the evils of this world.  I can only see how much, we, as a nation have already fallen.  The minority now will someday become the majority and hope will be lost for our great but fading nation.....I contribute much of this to the lack of parental guidance and the tolerance of the illegals invasion and bringing along with them their intolerance of OUR LAWS AND THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD.  Our government welcomes and invites only as a means of power and control.   The future of our children and grandchildren looks dim.  One must stand NOW and teach our own the values and the truths that have made us great.  Mainly, God has just got to come back in our lives.  This is where oue true hope lies.  Anyone with a socialist ideology must be kept at bay, I don't  care what party they adhere to.  We are in a mess, we have brought this on ourselves.  Is it too late to turn back the hands of time?  We can no longer look at today for our hope.  Tomorrow is coming.......and our Lord Jesus Christ is too........we've gotta stand firm......I see so many on this very forum that only live for today and the enjoyment of hate and argument....why can't  we all see more..

Tulsi Gabbard, a surrogate for Bernie Sanders, to vote for Hillarious Clinton

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hi., nominates Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT., for president during the second day of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on July 26, 2016.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, one of Bernie Sanders’ top surrogates, says she’ll vote for Hillarious Clinton in November.

The Hawaii Democrat told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, “Given the remaining choices, like Bernie Sanders, I will be casting my vote for Hillarious Clinton.”

The newspaper characterized her support as “tempered” and wrote that she reiterated her concerns over the former secretary of State’s Middle East policies.

“Moving forward, as a veteran and someone who knows firsthand the cost of war, I am going to continue to push for an end to counterproductive interventionist wars and lead our country toward a path toward peace,” she said.

Gabbard, a veteran of two Middle East deployments, resigned her post as vice chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee in February to endorse Sanders, a Vermont senator. She said then, in a video, that America could elect “a president who will lead us into more interventionist wars of regime change or we can elect a president who will usher in a new era of peace and prosperity.”

She was one of three people who nominated Sanders for president during a speech last week at the Democratic National Convention, before Sanders moved to give Clinton the nomination by acclamation.

Gabbard becomes the latest of several prominent Sanders backers who have lined up behind Clinton. Comedian Sarah Silverman, a Sanders supporter, said during a convention speech that she would vote for Clinton “with gusto” and told the “Bernie or Bust” contingent, “You’re being ridiculous.Activist and professor Cornel West, meanwhile, endorsed Green Party candidate Jill Stein, saying she is “the only progressive” in the race.

Sanders, when asked what he would say to his supporters who are considering third party candidates, said “it’s a free country” and people have to make their own decisions.

“I certainly, as more than anybody in America, perhaps, understand politics outside of the Democratic and Republican parties,” Sanders told USA TODAY last month. “I have an obligation to worry about the future of the people of my state. I have a very strong feeling that if Donald Trump is elected president, it will be a disaster for people in my own state and for people in the other 49 states. So that’s my choice. People make other choices.”

yes, she chose to stay with the evils of her own party affiliation instead of being a loyal patriot to this country.  Satan grabs hold of many and makes them his when one becomes complacent and follows the group of greed and power.  Tulsi had no choice but to vote for hilarious as she bowed to satan's commands......I know I must sound harsh.  But even with Trump, i find many many of his ways unorthodox and his ego intolerable.  And yes, he has even made several mistakes in my estimation but We are at a point that we must pick and choose the lesser of the evils we are left with.  I am one of those that truely believes that God picks and chooses the leaders of all nations.  He works HIS PLANS in and thru us as his human agents.  In the end, His will, will be done.  I was just hoping that the US would stand firm for God in all things instead of completely falling away.  My faith in this country and her people is just not what it use to be.  We drift further and further away with the dawning of each new day.  The intentions of our forefathers are all but gone and if we don't  do some mighty changing in our thoughts and minds, God will spit us out as many other nations have already experienced and living in starvation, war and corruption....i guess I'm just struggling  with what our nation has become and i know that it has been a gradual change as many of us could not or would not have seen it coming, but now I'm  afraid it is upon us.  To go back to the faith I once had in our country would be a struggle for me.....I believe only the hands of God can bring forth what all of us seek for the USA...

It's always good to share with you.  I always find that i can pretty much share with you without prejudice.  I know your words and works are always for our countries best interest and I value your input and your study of and knowledge of politics is always appreciated.  You keep me informed.....thank you

Certainly a flashy Presidential Campaign add appealing to the emotions. Feel Good - We'll ALL Get Along - Just Wait AND See WITH ME!!!

How many times did Tulsi Gabbard mention We The People exercising THEIR The United States Of America Constitution TO INCLUDE The Ratified Bill Of Rights AND Tulsi Gabbard WILL ENSURE SHE WILL observe The United States Of America Constitution TO INCLUDE The Ratified Bill Of Rights Articles pertaining to The President Of The United States Of America???!!! Sure, ALL The United States Of America Service Persons Take The Oath AND for good reason. ANY service is testament to THAT.

A critical campaign focus NOW ESPECIALLY with Rouge AND Traitorous actors OBVIOUSLY engaged in foreign AND domestic crimes. The United States Of America Constitution TO INCLUDE The Ratified Bill Of Rights AND Associated Rule Of Law is the BEDROCK of THIS Great Nation AND IS THEE BINDING AGENT OF The United States Of America Citizens.

The only way to avert a catastrophe is to beat the enemies (foreign AND domestic) to overwhelming superiority. No Country has EVER remained a Country who takes the OTHER Countries AT THERE WORD ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE KNOWN NOT TO COMPLY WITH PREVIOUS AND EXPLICIT AGREEMENTS!!!

THIS Tulsi Gabbard Presidential Campaign Advertisement is cause for GREAT Concern should Tulsi Gabbard be voted as President Of The United States Of America with, "I am here for the Government AND I am here to help YOU doing the things YOU should be doing YOURSELF. AND, by the way, I made ALL kinds of flashy deals with the Russians since THEY trust ME AND I trust THEM. Well, OK, the Chinese, TOO, since THEY told me THEY will STOP THEIR THEFT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, engage in BALANCED TRADE, AND NOT MANIPULATE THEIR CURRENCY."!!!

An unwitting Trojan Horse.

Bob Dole stepped down as a Kansas Senator in his bid for the President Of The United States Of America in 1996. To me, that hurt Bob Dole more than helped him. Sarah Palin also stepped down as the Alaskan Governor, too, implying the remaining year was a lame duck period. Pretty much undermines Sarah Palin's bid for a future Public Office.

Sure, give it a go. The United States Of America IS based ON ANYONE can be President Of The United States Of America AS LONG AS THEY are born A United States Of America Citizen ACCORDING TO the applicable criterion.

Bark Insane Obama.

Maybe a prep for the 2024 elections to get name recognition for Tulsi Gabbard. Smooth talkers ALWAYS raise a flag for ME NO MATTER what "political" "affiliation" OR "credentials"!!!

The November debate will be hosted by MSNBC.....and will have an all Lady moderating group.....one being Rachel Maddow.....

Wouldn't it be refreshing to have Politico or some other more neutral outfit host the event.......MSM is very biased towards several "front runners"

The good news is Tulsi Gabbard has qualified......looking forward to when she questions Warren on what Warren's qualifications to be Commander & Chief are.....

Yesterday Congresswoman Gabbard was on The View.....addressing  some of the things they had said about Gabbard being a Russian asset and a useful idiot....Joy Behar was humbled IMO......Worth the watch.....first clip 6 minutes.....2nd.... 5 min (perhaps the best)....and a 2 minute clip on why Gabbard has no interest in  3rd party run...

Krystal Ball credits Gabbard's upswing in 2020 race to 'feckless' Democratic establishment

BY KRYSTAL BALL TWEET SHARE EMAIL

Opinion by: Krystal Ball

Well it is yet to be seen whether Hillarious Clinton's eventual endorsement will be at all helpful to the lucky candidate who receives it, but we can now say for certain that her anti-endorsement is in fact tremendously helpful. Hillarious's smearing of Tulsi as a Russian asset has given Tulsi's campaign a needed boost. In fact, a new poll has her at 6% in New Hampshire that puts her just behind only the top 4 of Biden, Warren, Buttigieg and Sanders.

Still waiting for the neo-liberal celebrations that a woman of color is surging at a key moment in the race. By the way, top-tier Kamala managed only 1%.

So all of this means that Hillarious not only gave Tulsi an assist in qualifying for next week's debate, she's also put her right on the cusp of the heightened December debate criteria. Tulsi now only needs 1 more poll at 4% or better to make it into that round as well. At this point she seems pretty likely to get it since she's got an entire month to accomplish that.

Keep in mind, of the approximately 379,000 candidates who ran for the Democratic nomination, only 6 have so far qualified for the December debate so it's really nothing to sneeze at. The accomplishment is made, of course, even more impressive by the fact that the media and the Democratic establishment have done absolutely everything they possibly can to try to destroy Tulsi.

They've called her childhood weird, accused her of being in a cult, questioned her patriotism at every instance, and insinuated that she's a white nationalist, which is weird since she's of Samoan descent and was the first Hindu to serve in Congress. Just take a look at this recent exchange with Joy Behar, where rather than talk about her policies, she instead has to explain that she's not a Russian asset or a useful idiot and defend her willingness to go on Fox News.

Again, you may have valid critiques of Tulsi's policies, that's fine. But this has been something else entirely. Ever since she dared resign from the DNC and back Bernie over Hillarious, the establishment has been doing their very best to silence her. That she's managed to achieve some momentum in spite of all that shows you just how persistent she is and just how weak and feckless they are.

They can't even crush one dissenter and the other guy they loathe is the most adored politician in the country with the biggest crowds, most donors, and greatest enthusiasm.

There's some additional data of note in this poll as well, though. In New Hampshire, which has an open primary system, Tulsi does extraordinarily well with independents. In fact, she is tied with Elizabeth Warren for independent support. In addition, she does very well with those who describe themselves as moderate or conservative. Now Tulsi's spot on the traditional ideological spectrum is kind of hard to peg because her views are heterodox so at the same time that she's finding support with self-described conservatives, her supporters also tell pollsters overwhelmingly that their second choice is Bernie Sanders who is of course the only true leftist in the race.

So, the first thing that I would say about that is for many voters establishment versus anti-establishment is really a more important barometer than the typical left right spectrum, or maybe authentic versus inauthentic or principled versus pandering. We see it literally every day on this show. There is a massive group of Americans who's first commitment is to ending the disgusting bipartisan consensus of corruption, corporatism, and war profiteering that has so damaged our nation.

But there was something else I found really amusing here. So, all day long every day we are told by the Times and the Post and CNN and MSNBC and everyone who ever goes on Morning Joe that to win we must appeal to moderate voters. Gotta pick a centrist who can win over those indies and those more conservative voters. We're told all the time that we should just throw our principles to the wind and back whoever has the best chance of beating Donald Trump because otherwise Nazis.

Well here you go. Here is a candidate with genuine crossover support from Republicans and independents and moderates and conservatives. A veteran! A woman of color! The youngest woman ever to serve in the Hawaii state legislature! Come on establishment, isn't she everything you told us we should want in a candidate? Yes, yes I know you don't like her but remember? We're supposed to suck it up and vote for the electable candidate no matter what! Otherwise you are a bot or a Putin puppet or a traitor or whatever. And if you don't just automatically line up behind that person because of unity, then also you love Trump.

So I've been waiting for the establishment Democratic punditocracy to come together and announce their support of Tulsi since just judging by this crossover support she may well be the most electable candidate.

Still waiting for the elite media to switch from writing deep dives speculating on Tulsi's nefarious motives to puff pieces on how she may well be a female Obama. Because just like CNN's Jeff Zeleny said about Pete Buttigieg, "Both represent a fresh face, and are calling for change." I mean both Tulsi and Obama did run on anti-war platforms.

Obama didn't actually deliver on that but whatever. Someone get a camera crew to New Hampshire fast!

Weirdly and I know you're going to be shocked by this, it would appear that Tulsi's bipartisan and moderate support is being used as yet another way to dismiss her candidacy. Here's Nate Silver:

"Tusli is the choice of people who plan to vote in the Democratic party but don't like Democrats and most of the things Democrats stand for."

Personally I thought that candidate was Amy Klobuchar.

Anyway, congrats to Tulsi on her campaign's upswing and on her success in getting all the right people to hate her.

As the early debates move forward the DNC stays true to their control and corruption....

The October debates saw Congresswoman Gabbard kept off the stage....even though she had qualified in 19 of 30 poles......Gabbard was on stage in November.....fast forward....

The DNC keeps raising the bar on the requirements...changing time frames.....just the typical.

They explain they need to whittle the field down.....I remind them for the 2016 Republican field there were 9 active members for the Iowa Caucuses.....the voters decided..........

For the December debate qualifications the polling numbers are a higher percentage.......problem here is only 2 polls are in the books with a week to go......Yang and Gabbard are each 1 poll short.....Booker needs 4.....a difficult thing to do when they just aren't polling........

Is the Party of diversity trying to race out the minority candidates......are they going to fix it so they offer up another old stale white person?......

Stay tuned......perhaps the master plan is to have HRC crawl back out of her hole.....

Article follows.....        CL

2020 ELECTIONS

Tulsi Gabbard, Andrew Yang teeter on debate bubble

The two outsider candidates are just shy of the polling threshold for the POLITICO/PBS NewsHour debate later this month, with just over a week left to qualify.

Andrew Yang & Tulsi Gabbard

Democratic presidential candidates Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard have until 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 12 to get the fourth qualifying poll they will need to make the debate stage. | Paul Sancya/AP Photo

Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang could get more airtime than ever to introduce themselves to America with just one more poll — or they could spend the December debate sitting at home.

Right now, six candidates — four white men and two white women — are set to take the stage for the Democratic primary debate co-hosted by POLITICO and PBS NewsHour on Dec. 19: Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, Tom Steyer and Elizabeth Warren. Gabbard and Yang are not among them, with only one week left before qualification closes.

Story Continued Below

For both Gabbard and Yang, being excluded from the debate stage could starve their long-shot campaigns of the oxygen that comes with the nationally televised platform — which has helped sustain their small-dollar fundraising and marginal poll numbers — as the rest of the field continues to winnow.

But if one or both qualify, they are likely to get greater shares of the speaking time than ever before. No debate thus far has included fewer than 10 candidates — and even if both Gabbard and Yang qualify, this one would include just 8 participants.

Their fates, however, are stuck in suspended animation. Since the previous debate, on Nov. 20, there have been only two polls conducted by sponsors approved by the Democratic National Committee — a drought deepened by the Thanksgiving holiday, when pollsters typically go dark rather than try to call traveling Americans.

Candidates can qualify for the December debate stage by hitting 4 percent in four polls approved by the DNC (or 6 percent in two approved early state polls) and by having 200,000 unique contributors, with 800 in 20 different states, territories or the District of Columbia. Candidates’ qualification is based off POLITICO’s tracking of public polling and donor counts; qualification is not official until confirmed by the DNC after the deadline to qualify has passed.

Submit a question for the next debate

We're hosting the sixth Democratic debate on Dec. 19, and we want your input. What would you ask the candidates? Tell us by Dec. 13.

Gabbard and Yang have already cleared the fundraising threshold, and each has received at least 4 percent in three polls approved by the Democratic National Committee. They have until 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 12 to get the fourth qualifying poll needed to make the debate stage.

Story Continued Below

Yang, in particular, has come tantalizingly close to qualifying for the December debate. He’s hit 3 percent in 11 different approved polls, both nationally and in early states, leaving him in some cases just a couple poll respondents away from that elusive fourth poll.

Gabbard recently cried foul after she hit 6 percent in a New Hampshire poll released by The Boston Globe and Suffolk University, arguing it should qualify her for the debate. The campaign argued that the DNC should recognize the poll because other Suffolk University polls, when conducted in conjunction with USA Today, count toward qualifying. But previous Boston Globe/Suffolk University polls have not counted toward qualification for the five previous debates, and the DNC has not given any public indication that it was considering otherwise.

Several other active candidates are also expected to miss the December debate. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who has passed the donor threshold and participated in the November debate, has not hit 4 percent in a single December qualifying poll.

Story Continued Below

Booker’s campaign released a memo to the public last week that called hitting the debate polling threshold the campaign’s “top priority” through Dec. 12, diverting resources “into a persuasion effort” designed to boost him in the polls. Booker, too, has been hurt by the Thanksgiving polling slowdown — in the memo released late last month, campaign manager Addisu Demissie projected that “up to a dozen qualifying polls” would be released before the deadline, but, since then, just two have been published.

All the polling organizations approved by the DNC are either independent media outlets or universities that dictate their own polling and release schedules.

Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro — who last participated in the October debate — will also almost assuredly not be on stage. In a fundraising video released Wednesday evening, Castro said he was just shy of the donor mark, but he’s unlikely to hit the polling threshold. He hasn’t scored higher than 2 percent in any approved polls for the December debate.

The two late entrants into the race, Mike Bloomberg and Deval Patrick, are virtually certain to be excluded. Patrick has registered at 0 percent in the three polls in which he’s been included. As an upstart candidate with a small national footprint before his launch, Patrick is likely nowhere near the requisite number of donors.

Bloomberg, meanwhile, functionally ruled himself out from participating in the debate when he said he wouldn’t accept campaign contributions. But he also has not broken 4 percent in the limited amount of polling since he joined the race. Three other candidates who are still in the race — Sen. Michael Bennet, former Rep. John Delaney and Marianne Williamson — have not participated in any sanctioned debates since the first two rounds held over the summer, and are miles away from clearing the thresholds to return to the stage in December.

While Bloomberg sits on the sidelines, Steyer, the other billionaire candidate, is assured a spot. He has poured north of $12 million into Facebook ads since his campaign launch in early July, almost exclusively to drum up small dollar donations to get on stage. Steyer cleared the donor threshold earlier this week, his campaign said.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) had also qualified to participate in the December debate, but she suspended her campaign on Tuesday. Her absence — combined with Gabbard and Yang sitting just shy of clearing the polling threshold — means the six candidates that have qualified thus far are all white, even among what started as a historically diverse field.

“I’m a little angry, I have to say, that we started with one of the most diverse fields in our history, giving people pride,” Booker said in an interview with BuzzFeed News on Wednesday. “I don’t understand how we’ve gotten to this place where there’s more billionaires in the race than there are black people.”

Story Continued Below

The DNC’s debate rules have long drawn criticism from some candidates and Democratic activists that they were unnaturally winnowing the historically large field, something Booker and Castro have increasingly echoed since Harris’ departure from the race. But DNC chief Tom Perez has steadfastly defended the process in the past.

It remains to be seen how candidates potentially missing the December debate will affect the field. Over the past few months, some candidates have ended their campaigns after it became clear they wouldn’t be on stage for a debate, while others have soldiered on even after missing a debate stage.

Gabbard, for example, missed the September debate stage before returning for October and November. She has also announced that she won’t run for reelection for her seat in Congress, seemingly indicating she is in the race for the long haul.

Yang’s team, meanwhile, still publicly remains optimistic that he will be on stage, even as the days to qualify tick down. He continues to rake in funding from a dedicated, core group of supporters that could continue to power his outsider campaign even if he doesn’t make it on stage, but broadening his appeal would be more difficult without the exposure of the debate stage.

On Wednesday, Yang sought to calm the nerves of jittery supporters eagerly awaiting the next poll to see if it put him over the top.

“FYI #YangGang most polls likely didn’t run over the holidays,” Yang tweeted. “So we are probably looking at Friday for some new polls to resume coming out. Rest and relax until then.”

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Announces Kalāheo High Student as Winner of Congressional App Challenge

December 30, 2019
Press Release

Washington, DC—Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today announced Jasmine Cadotte, a sophomore at Kalāheo High School in Kailua, Oʻahu, as the winner of the 2019 Congressional App Challenge for Hawaiʻi’s second congressional district. Cadotte developed an app called Fake News Detector, which uses artificial intelligence to sift through news stories on social media and analyzes the credibility of its sources.

“I was inspired to create this app because as a user of technology in our modern society, I am constantly surrounded by fake news that is disguised all over the internet. It can be very difficult to determine whether or not a source is reliable,” Cadotte said.

“This tool saves people the time and effort of sorting through news to find out if it is reliable information."

Second place went to Morgan Dean, a senior at Hawaiʻi Preparatory in Waimea, Hawaiʻi Island, whose app Media Manager helps wrangle duplicate files and unorganized folders.

Third place went to the team of Hunter Shields and Conner Kong, juniors at Maui High in Kahului, Maui. Their app Maui XC Maps provides easy access to maps of cross country running routes on Maui.

Honorable mention went to the Maui High team of freshmen Josh Patrick Lachica and Jordan Shim. Their app ProgressTracker graphs scores in air riflery to track friendly competition.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said: “Hawaiʻi’s youth are incredibly talented, and they bring fresh perspectives to our society’s challenges. The Congressional App Challenge is one way for us to recognize the creativity, innovation, and coding abilities of our students.

Congratulations to Jasmine, Morgan, Hunter, Conner, Josh and Jordan, and mahalo nui loa to all of the students who submitted an app, the judges, teachers, and parents who support our students, and our community for prioritizing STEM skills that set our future leaders up for success.”

This year’s panel of local Congressional App Challenge judges included Cheyenne Ehrlich, Founder and CEO of SaferKid; Peter Liu, Founder of 47scapes; and Steve Sue, Chairman of Bizgenics.

Background: The Congressional App Challenge inspires, includes, and innovates efforts around STEM, coding, and computer science education among middle and high school students in Hawai‘i and across the country. The winners of the Congressional App Challenge will be invited to Washington, DC in the Spring of 2020 to showcase their apps at the #HouseofCode event in the U.S. Capitol.

Fantastic article....And I doubt Betsy DeVos would approve, as Fake News makes the world go 'round for all of D.C.  As always, just my opinion.

The Politicians and MSM need to be held accountable for their smears.....

Nicholas Sandman is a great example of holding the media to some accountability.....north of $25 million recently from CNN......and 11 more to go....

This is the second $50 million suit by Gabbard........I'm not a big lawsuit guy......but if it's the only way to garnish some accountability.......just do it!

Tulsi Gabbard sues Hillarious Clinton for $50m over ‘Russian asset’ remark

2020 contender alleges Clinton made ‘defamatory statements’ in ‘deliberate attempt to derail her presidential campaign’

The Hawaii congresswoman and Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard is suing Hillarious Clinton for defamation, alleging the 2016 nominee described her as a “Russian asset” and claiming more than $50m in damages.

Sanders on Clinton's 'nobody likes him' claim: 'On a good day, my wife likes me'

Gabbard, who sued Google in July 2019, also claiming $50m, filed the lawsuit in the southern district of New York. She claims that in October 2019 Clinton “falsely stated” that Gabbard “is a ‘Russian asset’”.

“Clinton’s false assertions were made in a deliberate attempt to derail Tulsi’s presidential campaign,” the filing says.

The lawsuit claims: “The defamatory statements have caused Tulsi to lose potential donors and potential voters who heard the defamatory statements. Tulsi has suffered significant actual damages, personally and professionally, that are estimated to exceed $50m – and continue to this day.”

Gabbard’s allegations stem from an interview Clinton conducted with the Democratic strategist, author and podcaster David Plouffe in October 2019. Discussing the 2020 primary field, Clinton said of one candidate: “She is a favourite of the Russians.

“They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far. And, that’s assuming Jill Stein [the Green Party nominee for president in 2016, who received favourable coverage from Russian state media] will give it up, which she might not because she’s also a Russian asset. Yeah, she’s a Russian asset.”

Some observers say Stein cost Clinton victory over Donald Trump in key states in 2016. Such claims are fiercely debated.

A Clinton spokesman confirmed that Clinton was talking about Gabbard.

Before the interview, the New York Times reported that Gabbard had “supportive signs” from the Russian state news media, and said a hashtag supporting her “appeared to be amplified by a coordinated network of bot-like accounts”. The Times said there was no evidence of coordination between these networks and Gabbard’s campaign.

Gabbard claimed Clinton had said she was being “groomed” by the Russians. Though a number of media organisations did report that Clinton made that accusation, media factcheckers discredited Gabbard’s interpretation of Clinton’s statement about Russia, with the Washington Post awarding her three “Pinocchios”.

Gabbard’s lawsuit brushes over the “grooming” claim, focusing instead on the alleged damage of the “Russian asset” remark.

“Tulsi is not a Russian asset,” the filing says. “No one – Russia or anyone else – controls her or her presidential campaign.”

The lawsuit claims Clinton made the remark in “retribution” for Gabbard supporting Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primary and describes Clinton as a “cut-throat politician” who has “never forgotten this perceived slight”.

At the time, Gabbard was in her second term in the House and was a vice-chair of the Democratic National Committee.

Gabbard sued Google in 2019, claiming the company suspended her campaign’s advertising after the first Democratic debate in June. A hearing is reportedly set for 27 January.

There is little evidence Clinton’s comments have had any impact on Gabbard’s popularity. According to Real Clear Politics, the congresswoman was polling at 2.3% nationally at the time of the remarks. She currently has 1.7% of stated preferences.

Tulsi Gabbard’s Lawsuit Against Hillarious Clinton Could Shake Up 2020 Race

Why is the former Democratic presidential nominee meddling in the 2020 race?

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard of Hawai’i is not going to become the Democrats’ presidential nominee in 2020. Which is too bad for the party. She is the only Democratic candidate we have seen with an ounce of common sense … not to mention the courage of her convictions.

The rest of the field? They are tripping over each other in an effort to get as far to the left of the American political spectrum as possible.

Which means Democrats – who ought to be heeding the wisdom of U.S president John F. Kennedy – are turning into full-blown socialists.

Gabbard made news earlier this month when she announced the filing of a lawsuit against former Democratic presidential nominee Hillarious Clinton – alleging that 2016 standard bearer of her party had defamed her.

“Clinton lied about her perceived rival Tulsi Gabbard,” the lawsuit stated. “She did so publicly, unambiguously and with obvious malicious intent. Tulsi has been harmed by Clinton’s lies – and American democracy has suffered as well.”

Last October, Clinton referred to an unnamed Democratic presidential candidate as “a favorite of the Russians.”

You know … because “Russian meddling” is apparently still a thing.

“I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate,” Clinton told David Plouffe, a former advisor to Barack Obama.

CNN later asked Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill if his boss was referring to Gabbard.

“If the nesting doll fits,” he responded.

That quote is brilliant … and yet, stupid.

Merrill’s response was indeed incredibly witty, yet at the same time ill-advisedly revealing.

Basically, he cleared up any confusion as to whom Clinton was referring.

The drama between the two female politicians apparently stems from Gabbard’s refusal to endorse Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign.

“Tulsi was told that the Clinton team would never forget this,” the lawsuit alleged.

It also just one of many examples of Clinton using her influence to meddle in the 2020 primary election – which is just one week away from seeing its first votes cast in the Iowa Democratic caucus.

“I love our country,”

Gabbard tweeted. “I’ve served as a soldier for nearly 17 years, deployed twice to the Middle East, and served in Congress for over seven years. If Hillarious (and her) allies can destroy my reputation by implying I am a traitor to the country I love, they can do it to anyone.”

This is true …

Fearmongering over Russia has been a staple of Democratic messaging for several years now … which we find incredibly hypocritical given American meddling in Russia’s backyard (and all over the globe, for that matter) under Obama. But the real issue here from our perspective is the ongoing battle between “neoconservative” warmongers of both parties and courageous non-interventionists like Gabbard willing to question our nation’s unsustainable imperialism.

As we have often stated, American blood and treasure are sacred … and should be expended only in pursuit of our national defense or core national interests abroad.
