Oh, So This Is Why ABC News Got In On The Barr Bashing

Recommended Posts

MSNBC wasn’t the only network to interrupt the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Attorney General William Barr. ABC News decided to cut in to offer close to a half hour of Barr bashing because…they wanted to get in the allegation that he lied. This is the latest Democratic attack line, which was also manufactured without evidence. Barr being viewed, as a Trump agent was an inevitable consequence of his confirmation to the top DOJ post, despite being supremely qualified for the job. And it was on full display today. The Democrat-media complex is hard at work trying to destroy Barr, Trump, and this White House because even after the 2016 election has long passed us by—the institutional Left cannot stand that Hillarious Clinton is not the president. Cecilia Vega was first at-bat—and Curtis Houck of Newsbusters was more than happy to give us the play-by-play of this nonsense:

On Wednesday morning, ABC broke in for roughly 20 minutes of coverage for the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing featuring Attorney General Bill Barr concerning the Mueller report and, predictably, ABC journalists were livid with Barr and painted him as a lying, partisan stooge. But they were undermined by chief legal analyst Dan Abrams asserting that he doesn’t think Barr critics will be able to sufficiently prove that he lied.

Senior White House correspondent Cecilia Vega told World News Tonight anchor David Muir that Barr “is facing very serious new questions, renewed questions about his credibility” in addition to the supposed Barr vs. Mueller riff.

VEGA: The — the attorney general really created the impression that Mueller's team found no wrongdoing and then we later came to find out that that is not at all what the report concluded. And just as of two hours ago, President Trump was tweeted these words that we have heard him say so many times before: “No obstruction. No collusion. Complete vindication.” That's been their narrative and in many ways, it was a gift from the attorney general. I think there are some questions right now about whether — the Democrats will certainly ask them, about whether this is the attorney general acting as the attorney general of the United States or the lawyer for President Trump.

MUIR: Or the lawyer for President Trump because remember, Bob Mueller said in his report that if we could exonerate him, we will. He did not.

And then ABC chief legal analyst Dan Abrams game in for the sack:

It was here that Abrams burst some liberal bubbles: “Look, it's a very lawyery answer, right? And this is why I don't think they’re going to be able to truly kind of prove that Barr, quote unquote, lied, right? Because I think there will be an explanation for everyone of Barr's comments about the Mueller investigation.”

The media seems to be obsessed with this letter, where Special Counsel Robert Mueller outlined his concerns to Barr. There were conversations between the two men. The letter dealt with Mueller’s concerns about Barr’s context in his released summary of the report, but was Barr’s summary inaccurate? No. Even Mueller admitted that.

Still, Democrats want Barr gone. Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) was the one on the Senate side who made that aim explicitly clear in her unhinged rant against Barr. Real Clear Politics has the transcript and the video.

SEN. MAZIE HIRONO: Mr. Barr, the American people know you are no different from Rudy Giuliani or Kellyanne Conway, or any of the other people who sacrifice their once decent reputation for the grifter and liar who sits in the oval office. You once turned down a job offer from Donald Trump to represent him as his private attorney. At your confirmation hearing, you told Sen. Feinstein that, quote, "The job of Attorney General is not the same as representing the president."

So you know the difference but you've chosen to be the president's lawyer and side with him over the interest of the American people. To start with, you should never have been involved in supervising the Robert Mueller investigation. You wrote a 19-page unsolicited memo, which you admit was not based on any fact, attacking the premise of half of the investigation. And you also should have insisted that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein recuse himself. He was not just a witness to some of the president's obstructive behavior, we now know he was in frequent personal contact of the president, a subject of the investigation. You should have left it to career officials.

Then, once the report was delivered by the special counsel, you delayed its release for more than two weeks and let the president's personal lawyers look at it before you even deigned to let the public or the Congress see it. During the time you substituted your own political judgment for the special counsel's legal conclusions in a four-page letter to Congress and now we know, thanks to a free press, that Mr. Mueller wrote you a letter objecting to your so-called summary.

When you called Mueller to discuss his letter, the reports are that he thought your summary was giving the press, Congress, and the public a misleading impression of his work. He asked you to release the report summaries to correct the misimpression you created but you refused. When you finally did decide to release the report over a congressional recess and on the eve of two major religious holidays, you called a press conference, to once again try to clear Donald Trump before anyone had a chance to read the special counsel's report and come to their own conclusions.

But when we read the report, we knew Robert Mueller's concerns were valid. And that your version of events was false. You used every advantage of your office to create the impression that the president was cleared of misconduct. You selectively quoted fragments from the special counsel's report, taking some of the most important statements out of context and ignoring the rest. You put the power and authority of the office of the attorney general and the Department of Justice, behind a public relations effort to help Donald Trump protect himself.

Finally, you lied to Congress. You told representative Charlie Crist that you didn't know what objectives Mueller's team might to the March 24 so-called summary. You told Senator Chris van Hollen that you didn't know if Bob Mueller supported your conclusions, but you knew you lied. And now, we know.

A lot of respected nonpartisan legal experts and elected officials were surprised by your efforts to protect the president. But I wasn't surprised. You did exactly what I thought you'd do, that's why I voted against your confirmation. I expected you would try to protect the president. And indeed, you did.

I mean this was a nicely wrapped Democratic line. Hirono is just insufferable. If she didn’t have Democratic talking points, could she even ask relevant questions…on anything? Remember, she got tripped up on…the basics of illegal immigration.

Still, there was not enough for obstruction and it’s now a fact, though a lot of us knew this already, that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. The lack of evidence for obstruction, however, has offered the Democrats a lifeline to continue their attacks on the Trump White House. That’s the downside. The upside is that, again, all of these allegations are without evidence, in a similar manner of the smears they lob at Barr for being an agent of Trump. It’s the same old stuff, different day. I’m okay with that because it continues to show that the media and the Democratic Party are abjectly insane over this Trump-Russia clown show, it reminds Trump voters who the enemy is and hopefully force independents away from the Democratic Party come 2020 because this rodeo is bound to become more out of control. It also keeps the liberal media angry, and when they’re infuriated and irritated, they screw up royally. Just look at the Russian collusion myth. Every so-called bombshell was debunked. Every angle rendered worthless with the Mueller report, which was a dagger to the heart of this manufactured myth produced by the Left. Let them keep embarrassing themselves. Maybe we can get them to douse themselves in gasoline and set a match. I say that figuratively of course.

Barr Schools Deranged Dems on the Term "Spying"...Again

Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse attempted to shame Attorney General Bill Barr during testimony on Wednesday morning for using the term "spying" to describe FBI actions against the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election. It didn't work.

"I'm not going to abjure the use of the word spying. My first job was in the CIA and I don't think the word spying as any pejorative connotation at all. To me the question is always whether or not it's authorized and adequately predicated, spying. I think spying a good English word that in fact doesn't have synonyms because it is the broadest word incorporating all forms of covert intelligence collection so I'm not going to back off the word spying," Barr said, adding he uses the term frequently.

"Frankly we went back and looked at press usage and up until all the faux outrage a few weeks ago, it's commonly used in the press to refer to authorized activity," Barr continued. "It's commonly used by me."

During a House hearing in April, Barr rattled Democrats the first time by saying spying did in fact occur against the Trump campaign.

"I think spying did occur," Barr said at the time. "I'm not talking about the FBI necessarily, but intelligence agencies more broadly."

"I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal. I'm not suggesting those rules were violated but I think it's important to look at that," he continued. "The question is whether it was predicated, adequately predicated, and I'm not suggesting it wasn't adequately predicated, but I need to explore that."

What these chuckleheads don't understand, and most are lawyers or have some legal background is, the AG DID NOT HAVE TO RELEASE ANYTHING according to the law.

The President could have used EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE many times but he did not.

The entire RC Deal is politics, dirty politics.  Both sides play are guilty of shenanigans but the Dems went to far.  They crossed the line and

will pay the price.  The more they try to cover it up, lie about it, not owning up to the fact they broke the laws the more it’s going to hurt their party.   If this is prosecuted the way it should be the Democratic Party might not survive.

It’s real simple. Our Government is made up of Attorneys and what do Attorneys do best?  Of course, they fight with words, they debate, and they try to convince the jury their side is right.  In this case we are the jury and we get to show them who made the best argument in 2020. The problem is our Media is not reporting the case truthfully.

I think deep down they know the end is near and soon many, many of them will be facing charges, criminal referrals and prison time and they know there is nothing they can do about it. So what do they have left.....make as much noise as possible, deflect, discredit, sexual scandal will be next and then accidental suicides.

I fear these people are only going get worse as time does now and things really start to unravel.

Soon it will be BLM, antifa and the MS13 gangs doing the lefts bidding.

I totally agree with your statement.  They are shameless, pathetic, delusional characters who may try to sink the ship if they are going to jail. In other words if I’m going down I’ll rat out everyone and make them pay the price as well. There  is no honor amongst liars and thieves.  The truly sad part is their lemmings STILL believe they are right and Trump is the evil doer in all of this.  Tragic.  Let’s hope and pray we don’t have to have a Civil War over this.  Somewhere, someone in our Government needs to speak the TRUTH and try to unite the country.  Unlawful activity must not be allowed and people need to understand that and real quick

I was a big Nixon fan in my youth.  I believed he was going to get us out of VN.  It was a tough pill to swallow when we found out he and his campaign were dirty ( tame by this current Coup attempt).   I wasn’t a blind follower and I wasn’t delusional about him. In my book when he said he wasn’t a crook, he was, and he got what he diserved.  In the current Coup attempt the lemmings will never capitulate and HRC,  Barry, and the other Dem leaders are counting on that cool aid drinking following to keep believing in their lies.  At least until they can find something on Trump.  Pathetic.

Now Pelosi is saying Barr should be arrested and HRC is calling on the Dems to have China back them since Russia is backing the Reps.

Diabolical.  Looks like they want to sink the boat (USA). Someone better start indicting these Rats before things get out of control.

Pelosi Raises Stakes, Wants Bill Barr Arrested And Criminally Charged

She just accused Bill Barr of committing a crime, and basically wants him arrested and charged criminally for lying to Congress.

She knows that won’t happen as she would refer the complaint to Barr at DOJ, and he will not be arresting himself any time soon.

More importantly, the crime she accuses him of, perjury, is bogus. Barr was asked a question if Mueller was ok with his summary.

We found out later from Mueller’s letter he was not happy with everything Barr did. But Pelosi forgets the other part of Barr’s answer: Barr said Mueller may have wanted a little more public disclosure from Barr. Which is what Mueller’s letter said.

From CNBC: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday accused Attorney General William Barr of committing a crime by lying to Congress about special counsel Robert Mueller’s report and Mueller’s issues with how Barr has characterized its findings.

“What is deadly serious about it is the attorney general of the United States of America is not telling the truth to the Congress of the United States. That’s a crime,” the California Democrat told reporters.

Pressed again about the accusation, Pelosi said, “He lied to Congress. If anybody else did that, it would be considered a crime. Nobody is above the law.”

A Justice Department spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request to comment on Pelosi’s remarks.

During a closed-door meeting on Thursday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused Attorney General William Barr of committing a crime by lying to Congress.

“We saw [Barr] commit a crime when he answered your question,” Pelosi told Rep. Charlie Crist (D-Fla.) during a private caucus meeting Thursday morning, according to two sources present for the gathering.

Pelosi’s comment was an apparent reference to Barr’s response to Crist last month during a House Appropriations Committee hearing, during which the attorney general said he was not aware of any concerns that special counsel Robert Mueller’s team might have expressed about his four-page summary of Mueller’s findings.

Barr’s response appeared to contradict the revelation earlier this week that Mueller himself wrote to the attorney general saying he was worried that Barr’s summary “threatens to undermine … public confidence” in the Russia probe. Mueller also said Barr’s memo “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of the investigation.

Hillarious Clinton Spits On Constitution With New Plan To Unseat Trump

Hillarious Clinton is bitter. Hillarious Clinton is jealous. Hillarious Clinton is shifty and not to be trusted.

Hillarious Clinton just went nuclear and called on a foreign power to help unseat Trump in 2020. But she is not just taking a swipe at Trump, she is talking about a fundamental shift away from the constitution and our sovereignty.

And she knows exactly of what she speaks – Bill and Hillarious were lousy with Chinese cash during their 8 years – there was a small scandal over it, not near as big of one as it should have been.

In fact, Hillarious and Bill and their greed were the ones that opened the flood gates to foreign money into our elections, a problem we are still dealing with today.

From Politico: Hillarious Clinton on Wednesday night suggested that if the Justice Department was going to let Russia get away with interfering in the 2016 presidential election, it might be OK if one of the 2020 Democratic candidates enlisted China for help.

The 2016 Democratic presidential candidate offered a seemingly tongue-in-cheek hypothetical to Rachel Maddow on her MSNBC show.

“Imagine, Rachel, that you had one of the Democratic nominees for 2020 on your show, and that person said, you know, the only other adversary of ours who is anywhere near as good as the Russians is China,” Clinton told Maddow. “So why should Russia have all the fun? And since Russia is clearly backing Republicans, why don’t we ask China to back us?”

“And not only that, China, if you’re listening, why don’t you get Trump’s tax returns?” Clinton continued. “I’m sure our media would richly reward you.”

Her phrasing echoed a statement by Donald Trump about Hillarious Clinton’s emails during the 2016 campaign. “Russia: If you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” he said at a July news conference in Florida. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

Blasted for inviting a foreign power to interfere in an American election, Trump subsequently claimed he was not serious. However, the Mueller report indicated Russian hackers — clearly paying close attention to the U.S. campaign — did go after Clinton’s emails within hours of Trump’s remarks.

Clinton also said the most important thing she learned was “the Russians were successful” in sowing “discord and divisiveness” in the country, and helping Donald Trump.

“Let’s have a great power contest, and let’s get the Chinese in on the side of somebody else,” she added. “Just saying, that shows how absurd the situation we find ourselves in.

When asked about Attorney General William Barr’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier Wednesday, Clinton said that “calling for his resignation makes perfect sense.”

“I think that the Democrats on the committee did a good job today in exposing that he is the president’s defense lawyer,” Clinton said. “He is not the attorney general of the United States in the way that he has conducted himself.”

Clinton added that House Democrats “have every reason to” find Barr in contempt, but to “not let Barr be the big shiny object that diverts people’s attention from the two major findings of the Mueller report.”

Deflect, Deflect, Deflect

Accuse, Accuse, Accuse

Attack, Attack Attack

This is the Dems strategy.  If it weren’t all true their behavior would be a comedy.  I find it comical that they want to now impeach AG Barr.

This latest round of saying Barr needs to be impeached is pure OBSTRUCTION.  The Russian Collusion Story has collapsed and Blown up in their face.  They are now literally fighting to stay out of jail. Their hysteria is only a cry for Mercy.

They want Barr out because they know he’s coming after them.  It’s time to investigate the investigators. Many of these folks can soon tell their treasonous story to a court of law.

For being an attorney she is sure unwise.  She might want to be quiet instead of trying to win the public by confusing the FACTS.

SHE BROKE THE LAW NUMEROUS TIMES and it was covered up by her power supporters in the FBI DOJ CIA and the Media.

In her her own words, “No one is above the law”

Executive Order 13848 of September 12, 2018

Imposing Certain Sanctions in the Event of Foreign Interference in a United States Election

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) (IEEPA), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) (NEA), section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 (8 U.S.C. 1182(f)), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code,

I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, find that the ability of persons located, in whole or in substantial part, outside the United States to interfere in or undermine public confidence in United States elections, including through the unauthorized accessing of election and campaign infrastructure or the covert distribution of propaganda and disinformation, constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. Although there has been no evidence of a foreign power altering the outcome or vote tabulation in any United States election, foreign powers have historically sought to exploit America's free and open political system. In recent years, the proliferation of digital devices and internet-based communications has created significant vulnerabilities and magnified the scope and intensity of the threat of foreign interference, as illustrated in the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment. I hereby declare a national emergency to deal with this threat.

Sec. 2. (a) All property and interests in property that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of any United States person of the following persons are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in: any foreign person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of Homeland Security:

(i) to have directly or indirectly engaged in, sponsored, concealed, or otherwise been complicit in foreign interference in a United States election;

(ii) to have materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of, any activity described in subsection (a)(i) of this section or any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order; or

(iii) to be owned or controlled by, or to have acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, any person whose property or interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order.

Sec. 3. Following the transmission of the assessment mandated by section 1(a) and the report mandated by section 1(b):

(a) the Secretary of the Treasury shall review the assessment mandated by section 1(a) and the report mandated by section 1(b), and, in consultation with the Secretary of State, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of Homeland Security, impose all appropriate sanctions pursuant to section 2(a) of this order and any appropriate sanctions described in section 2(b) of this order; and

(b) the Secretary of State and the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the heads of other appropriate agencies, shall jointly prepare a recommendation for the President as to whether additional sanctions against foreign persons may be appropriate in response to the identified foreign interference and in light of the evaluation in the report mandated by section 1(b) of this order, including, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, proposed sanctions with respect to the largest business entities licensed or domiciled in a country whose government authorized, directed, sponsored, or supported election interference, including at least one entity from each of the following sectors: financial services, defense, energy, technology, and transportation (or, if inapplicable to that country's largest business entities, sectors of comparable strategic significance to that foreign government). The recommendation shall include an assessment of the effect of the recommended sanctions on the economic and national security interests of the United States and its allies. Any recommended sanctions shall be appropriately calibrated to the scope of the foreign interference identified, and may include one or more of the following with respect to each targeted foreign person:

(i) blocking and prohibiting all transactions in a person's property and interests in property subject to United States jurisdiction;

(ii) export license restrictions under any statute or regulation that requires the prior review and approval of the United States Government as a condition for the export or re-export of goods or services;

(iii) prohibitions on United States financial institutions making loans or providing credit to a person;

(iv) restrictions on transactions in foreign exchange in which a person has any interest;

(v) prohibitions on transfers of credit or payments between financial institutions, or by, through, or to any financial institution, for the benefit of a person;

(vi) prohibitions on United States persons investing in or purchasing equity or debt of a person;

(vii) exclusion of a person's alien corporate officers from the United States;

(viii) imposition on a person's alien principal executive officers of any of the sanctions described in this section; or

(ix) any other measures authorized by law.

Sec. 7. (a) Any transaction that evades or avoids, has the purpose of evading or avoiding, causes a violation of, or attempts to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

(b) Any conspiracy formed to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.
