Oil prices continue to rise amid tensions in the Middle East

Oil prices rose on Monday after US Secretary of State Mike Bombo said Washington would take all necessary measures to ensure safe navigation in the Middle East as tension mounted after tanker attacks last week.

And Brent futures contract climbed 22 cents , or 0.4% to $ 62.23 a barrel, futures rose to crude West Texas , the US median 13 cents, or 0.3%, at $ 52.64 a barrel.  Prices jumped 4.5 percent on Thursday after attacks on two oil tankers near Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

The Industrial Cities Law No. (2) for the year 2019

The Ministry of Justice has announced the release of the new issue of the Iraqi Gazette number (4544), which included amendments and decrees passed by the House of Representatives and approved by the Presidency of the Republic. 

The Director General of the Department Prof. Kamel Amin Hashim: The number included the issuance of industrial cities Law No. (2 ) for the year  2019 , which aims to contribute to the achievement of the goals of the general economic policy of the state and the organization of industrial activities in ministered infrastructure and services sites, in addition to promoting the use of industrial cities to guide the process of economic reform, as well as the organization of industrial cities and its establishment, development and management and encourage mesh Domestic and foreign hip private sector investments in the industrial cities in all provinces and partnership with the public sector.

The Director-General added that the number also included the issuance of Presidential decrees (27), (28), (29), (30) and (31) of 2019, and the instructions of the conditions of physical fitness and health of women in the Internal Security Forces No. (2) For the year 2019 in addition to a decision issued by the Committee for the freezing of terrorist funds No. (27) for the year 2019 and statements issued by the Central Organization for Standardization and Codex.

Justice Department announced on Monday, for the issuance of the new issue of the Iraqi Gazette number (4544), which included amendments and decrees passed by the House of Representatives and approved by the Presidency of the Republic.

Parliamentary Finance: We seek to announce the supplementary budget to address the imbalance of the distribution of funds

The Finance Committee of the parliamentary, on Monday, its efforts to draft the supplementary budget law for the current year in cooperation with the government to address the imbalance of the federal budget, indicating that the budget will rely on surplus oil funds without the use of external loans.

"The government and the Finance Committee will cooperate in the coming days to discuss the adoption of a supplementary budget to rectify the errors of the federal mona," said the committee's chairman, Haneen al-Qaddo.

He added that "the budget will depend on surplus oil funds without the use of foreign loans," noting that "the budget will include the launch of appointments and the installation of contracts and the launch of service projects lagging across the country."

Central: The cash mass outside the banks is more than 39 trillion dinars

The Central Bank of Iraq revealed on Monday the amount of cash mass outside the Iraqi banks, pointing out that it is more than 39 trillion dinars.

 

The bank said in an official statistic it was briefed by Alsumaria News that "the amount of currency outside the banks amounted in January of 2019 by 39 trillion and 796 billion and 700 million dinars," noting that "this amount fell from the month of December of 2018, which amounted to 40 Trillion and 498 billion and 67 million dinars."

 

The bank added that "the highest level of currency outside banks during the past three years was in December 2016, where it reached 42 trillion and 75 billion dinars, while the lowest level of currency during the month of February of 2004, which amounted to 5 trillion and 431 million Dinar". 

In 2011, the Central Bank put forward a project to delete the zeros for structuring the currency, which the bank considered it would transfer Iraq from the country of trillions to billions, that the project was met with great opposition by the specialists and politicians in parliament.

Economist: The achievement of the Central Bank gives him international strength and confidence

 

 

 He praised economist completion of the Central Bank of Iraq 's final accounts in the legal deadline and receiving a good assessment of an international auditing firm, pointing out: "This assessment gives the central bank and the banking sector strength and confidence at the international level , encouraging international financial bodies to deal with him and granted loans and facilities" . 

The expert said Abdul-Hussein al-Mundhari: "The Office of Financial Supervision has stressed earlier in all ministries and institutions to complete their annual accounts during the first three months and submitted to the Iraqi legal accountant for scrutiny and ratification."

 He added: "The Board of Control and the Central Bank agreed that the second offering accounts to international auditing firms recognized for the conduct additional audits of the accounts as well as the Iraqi auditor audited, giving accounts greater credibility because it will be more accurate and in accordance with international standards." 

According Mundhiri, Van: "This measure allows the central bank to obtain a global assessment lends credibility to the accounts required, which makes international actors trust Iraqi banks." 

International auditing company "Ernst & Young" has completed the audit of the Central Bank of the 2018 legal deadline the end of last March, and gave him a good assessment.

Nasiri issues his new book from the Office of the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq

The economic and banking adviser to the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, Samir al-Nusairi, announced on Monday the issuance of his book entitled "Light in the End of the Tunnel: Economic, Banking and Banking Perspectives", when he presented the first version to HE Dr. Mohsen Al-Alaq, Governor of the Central Bank

The Governor blessed the publication of the book and the efforts of the author in following up the march of the Iraqi economy and analyze the reality of the banking sector and provide visions and proposals to achieve the required reform

The book contains four chapters and 60 pages with 204 pages with an appendix of documents and tables. This is an analytical and documentary presentation of the positive and bright points in the process of economic and banking reform and the efforts exerted by the Central Bank and the banks during the years 2015-2019, which were manifested in achieving economic resilience during the economic and security shocks. Suffered by Iraq because of the decline in oil prices globally and the war on terrorism on behalf of the world

The book dealt in a special chapter the role of the Central Bank and the Association of Iraqi private banks and banks in the development and community initiatives

It is noteworthy that the new book is the seventh book of the author and presented to him by the Governor of the Central Bank Ali Alalak and Professor Khalil al-Shamma

Central Bank: a large increase in the number of beneficiaries of the initiative trillion dinars

The Central Bank of Iraq announced a large increase in the number of beneficiaries of the initiative one trillion dinars allocated to support small and medium enterprises in the framework of his desire to contribute to support the Iraqi economy and continued to monitor the results of initiatives launched.
 

A statement issued by the bank received the agency {Euphrates News} a copy of it, "The amounts borrowed, reached during the months of this year only, the value of 31 billion and 667 million dinars, compared with the amount borrowed during the whole of last year, which amounted to 33 billion and 600 million Dinar". 

"We note that the size of the increase is approaching weakness, which is a sign of a remarkable success in encouraging young people to launch their own investment projects that are distributed across different sectors."

The One Trillion Small and Medium Enterprise Initiative is an initiative launched and funded by the Central Bank of Iraq at the end of 2015 to encourage young people to invest in the agricultural, industrial, commercial and service sectors through loans ranging from 5 to 50 million JD, note that there are exceptions that make the amount of the loan up to the limit of 10 million dinars, which are exceptions related to the feasibility of the project and its ability to run the workforce.

In the presence of European ambassadors .. Minister of Finance chairs a joint meeting with the tax and customs and budget

The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance Minister Fuad Hussein held a joint meeting in Baghdad on Monday with the German Ambassador, the Netherlands, the French Deputy Ambassador, the Director General of Taxation, the Assistant Director-General of Customs and the Director of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Advisor to the Committee on Economic Affairs.

During the meeting, according to a statement of the minister's office, discussed the prospects for cooperation and exchange of experiences between the budget departments, taxes and customs in those countries with the departments of the Iraqi Ministry of Finance.

They pointed to the importance of benefiting from the experiences of our friends in the European Union countries in order to support the sectors and departments of the Ministry of Finance through providing advice and training and benefiting from their expertise and advanced systems in these areas.

For his part, German Ambassador Cyril Nunaly said that his government fully supports efforts to develop the work of the Ministry of Finance, especially with regard to the preparation of the budget and the customs and tax system and this is through joint work through the German Development Organization GIZ, which works continuously with the Office of Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Finance,which focuses To increase the efficiency of staff in these departments and exchange meetings, visits and training as well as work with the Supreme Council for the fight against corruption to develop methods of action to reduce corruption.

The French Deputy Ambassador Bruno Ober said his country's readiness to provide assistance and advice has started a program to train cadres of the General Authority for taxes in the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government will also send experts in the preparation of budgets to be a balance of performance and not only the budget needs and salaries.

The meeting agreed to continue joint work in order to raise the efficiency of the performance of Iraqi financial and economic institutions.

Parliamentary energy demands oil to develop an "emergency plan" to secure Iraq's exports

The Committee on oil and energy parliamentary, on Monday, the need to provide oil derivatives and fuel for electric power stations in the province of Basra, noting the importance of spare the Iraqi economy as the region is experiencing tensions that may affect oil exports.

"The Oil and Energy Committee is determined to monitor the oil and government performance to meet the needs of the people of oil and energy," said Hibt Al Halbusi, head of the committee,

He instructed "the oil companies in Basra to develop a strategic plan to provide the largest possible number of jobs and employment opportunities and energy conservation needs and to allocate part of the oil imports to develop basic services in the province."

He explained that "the visit will include access to the work of oil refineries and ensure the achievement of the objectives of the Japanese loan to spend $ 1 billion Mustafa Basra and its importance in developing the work of this important refinery."  He called on the oil ministry to "take the necessary precautions to confront any escalation or tension that may occur in the Gulf region and promised contingency plans to ensure the passage of oil exports."
