GOP candidate received letter threatening his 7 children, reports say

 

 

A Republican running for Congress in New Jersey received a written threat that mentioned his seven children, his campaign said Wednesday, around the same time suspicious packages were reported sent to former President Barack Obama, the Clintons and CNN.

In a letter sent Tuesday to candidate Jay Webber’s law office in Whippany, he was warned to drop out of the race, Politico reported.

 

“What the f--- is wrong with you … s---bag?” the typed letter said. “You BETTER hope that you don’t win! Or else. How many kids do you have… 7? Unlucky 7. This is what we think of you. Time to get out of politics.”

 

The letter also accused Republicans of stealing from Social Security and Medicare and running up the national debt.

Webber, a five-term state assemblyman, has integrated his wife Johanna and their seven children into his campaign, even featuring them in campaign ads, NJ.com reported. The letter was reported to the New Jersey State Police for investigation.

"Criticizing a candidate on the issues is part of politics,” Webber tweeted Wednesday. “Threatening my children is not. We are thankful for the support of law enforcement as we work to find whoever is behind this gutless act. We will not be intimidated as we work to make #NJ11 better for everyone.”

 

The letter arrived a day after Webber’s campaign tweeted that the political left is “unhinged.” A video that accompanies the tweet shows defaced Webber campaign signs and prominent Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, Hillarious Clinton and Maxine Waters advocating pushback against Republicans.

Webber is locked in a competitive race against Democrat Mikie Sherrill, a former Navy helicopter pilot and former federal prosecutor, in a bid to replace retiring Republican Rodney Frelinghuysen.

His conservative record has earned him the support of President Trump, NorthJersey.com reported.

 

Sherrill called the incident “absolutely appalling.”

“This is absolutely appalling,” she said in a statement. “No one who decides to run for public office should feel that, by doing so, they are putting their family in danger. I condemn this in the strongest terms and hope law enforcement determines who was behind this and holds them accountable."

They can’t hit the campaign trail — because they’re in jail.

At least two Democratic pols, one in Georgia and another in Texas, are continuing to run for office while behind bars on criminal convictions, and both will still be serving their sentences when election results roll in next month.

The Lone Star State pol, state Rep. Ron Reynolds, a disbarred Missouri City personal injury lawyer, is expected to win his unopposed bid to keep his state legislative seat despite beginning a one-year sentence last month for ambulance chasing, trying to line up clients right after an accident.

“Since there is no Republican in this race, he has essentially locked down victory,” Houston’s NBC affiliate posted online of Reynolds.

“Which means Reynolds will be celebrating election night in jail.”

In northwest Georgia’s 14th District, US congressional candidate Steve Foster of Dalton is running a longshot campaign to unseat Republican Rep. Tom Graves.

“Look, I’m not withdrawing,” Foster, who’s less than halfway through a six-month DWI sentence, told the AP.

Democratic US Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke has appeared in campaign ads supporting Reynolds, a fourth-term member of the Texas house — and won’t denounce him now.

“I trust the wisdom of the voters in Texas,” O’Rourke told the TV station this week.

Actually, the voters of Texas haven’t been bothered by Reynolds’ criminal record in the past. He’d been elected to his most recent two-year term in 2016, while he was still free on appeal for the misdemeanor conviction he’s now serving time for.

In upstate New York, GOP Rep. Chris Collins is continuing to run for re-election despite being under indictment for insider trading — but he’s pleaded not guilty and is free on $500,000 bail.

And in Nevada, brothel owner Dennis Hof will remain on the ballot for a state assembly seat despite his yet-unexplained death — apparently soon after spending time with a prostitute — on Monday.

Last year, the Times sponsored a Trump assassination fantasy in the production of Julius Caesar by Shakespeare in the Park, defiantly standing by its sponsorship as other corporations including Delta and Bank of America withdrew their sponsorship of the play.

 

The 2018 Trump assassination fantasy was published by the Times’ Book Review on Tuesday as one of five fantasies imagined for the Trump presidency titled, “Five Novelists Imagine Trump’s Next Chapter“

And one of the biggest stories out there, of course, is the Mueller investigation and the relationship between Trump and Putin. It’s hard not to speculate about what might happen next. Zoë Sharp wrote, “How It Ends”.

The fantasy involves a Russian hitman dispatched to D.C. to assassinate Trump who is holed up in the Trump Hotel as his administration crumbles under multiple indictments and faces certain impeachment. The motive for the Russians to take out Trump? “When it comes out that he was handpicked at the highest possible level, our great nation will be the laughingstock of the world. He must be silenced.”

The fantasy sets a scenario where the Russian checks into the Trump Hotel and the next morning is positioned with a firearm in the lobby in line of sight of Trump as he walks past.

The fantasy has a kicker where a Secret Service agent helps the Russian assassinate President Trump.

At 7 a.m., he showered. The bar of soap had the hotel name stamped into both sides. He made sure to wash his ass with it. Then he shaved and ate a last room-service breakfast. He dressed in the porter’s uniform that had been obtained for him, tucking the Makarov into the back of his waistband.

When it was time, he went downstairs, took his place in the lobby before the entourage appeared. The hotel staff had been lined up to see their boss, the president, go by. A few of them applauded. Most did not.

The president didn’t seem to notice. He waved, in his desultory fashion. The Secret Service agents clustered around him, ushered him toward the armored limo idling outside at the curb.

The Russian waited until they were a few steps past before he drew the gun. He sighted on the center of the president’s back, and squeezed the trigger.

The Makarov misfired.

The Secret Service agent at the president’s shoulder heard the click, spun into a crouch. He registered the scene instantly, drawing his own weapon with razor-edge reflexes.

The Russian tasted failure. He closed his eyes and waited to pay the cost.

It did not come.

He opened his eyes. The Secret Service agent stood before him, presenting his Glock, butt first.

So what you're saying, because you're absolutely convinced that not a single Trumpkin could possibly possess a single bad thought, or perpetrate a single bad act....is that liberals perpetrated the this threat and the threat to their own?  Right....is that the flawed thought process you've got going on?  People do bad things all the time....and if your not willing to believe they could be a part of your political lexicon then your simply naive.  Hopefully law enforcement gets to the bottom of all of this and the criminals are brought to justice before anybody gets hurt or killed.

Good morning Shabs ! I hope that things are going well with you and your family. And I thought about that when I wrote it......I also don't blame President D-REX Trump for all of this either. He is a world champion fighter and that's what he knows. If anyone is stupid enough to attack him....well they are deserve the Darwin award because you know your going to get your ass kicked ! I like to remind you that he even kicked the whole Republican party as well as the Democratic party and Independent party and the Lying fake news reporters asses ! I can't help but think God put him in there....he has done a lot of good things for our country and yet he is probably the most hated man in America. President Trump has also exposed the most corruption ever in the history of the United States. Even to which a deaf , dumb , blindman should be able to see. My eyes are wide open ! The level of curruption at the highest levels of our Government was real ! You just can't make this Shiite up ! So for the President's accomplishments and a man that is trying to make good on every promise to those who put him there , I applaud his accomplishments. Just as simple as that. Thanks

And the citizens had no way basically to prove the validity of the news being reported. Then along comes the internet, talk radio, Fox News and, facebook and twitter and boom no more news reporting monopoly. Even then all was fine with the left, if anything they said about anything or anyone, was accepted. And the cowardly Republicans (sacred to death of the media and of looking cruel and mean) tucked tail and hid. Then along comes Trump with the cohones to push and fight back. This is the kind of man many in this country wanted because they felt the same way, but also felt like they had no say and everyone they elected promise to do this and that and nobody delivered. The DemoRats were not use to being challenged (how dare you) and the news media was being expose for what they really are today. DemoRat water carrying, dishonest, corrupt, lying fools. Now everyone on the left"s heads are exploding and it is a Wonderful thing to behold. All it would take for this division to subside, is for the media to be honest in their reporting. Tell the truth. Instead, over 85-90% of the MSM reporting on Trump is negative and much of it fabricated lies. But if they did that, then it would not serve the purpose of the DemoRAT party, so we can't have that. Their thinking and anger comes from the fact that they were so close to finishing off this great nation after 8 years of the worst Prez in history. His clone replacement was commrade HillDawg and she was a guaranteed winner. Her victory, would have ensured at least 4 if not 8 more years of the same tired ass policies of Obummer. Try these guys, John Friggin McCain, Up Chuck Schummer and Obummer. Don't get in these guy's way if there is a camera around or you will get stampeded. Obummer vilified the opposition and the media treated it as if "a nod is a good as a wink to a blind horse. The sweeper media just swept it under the rug. But let Trump fart and it is Big news. The scam was perpetrated on the population by 8 years of the previous administration. And as for Alex Jones, the guy is and was certifiable. Could not stand him. Never listened to him.

I appreciate your genuine concern for my family Shabs !...... and know you and might never see eye to eye on politics. I think President D-Rex Trump is nessisary for our nation. We all must go through this purge to find out what we are made of as a nation. I certainly didn't like where we we're headed before. It's now your turn to sit back and watch the show , will see where history ends up in the final analysis. Now back to us , we do have something's in common. We have common sense ! We have the ability to think for ourselves ! And we have God and we love our families...... priorities always come first....I can still remember when you prayed for me and my family and I recently returned prayers to you and yours. I say kick them all out of the senate and the house and start over again with term limits in place.  No more parties. Elected because of your ideas and platforms which are supposed to be for the betterment of the people and the country and not the individual.  Get back to understanding that with or without parties their has to be compromise to make the the country work.

 

All the Democrats don't agree with each other and all the Republicans don't agree with each other.  But they compromise within their own party in order to try and destroy each other.  TSK TSK.  They're supposed to be working for us.  Neither side will get 100% of what they ask for.  The people in this country will not agree and be happy 100% of the time .  But as long as we are making the right compromises and finding the happy medium that benefits the country as a whole we would be OK.

 

A concept that was lost many, many years ago.
