At least the people are going to get their say, they have been suppressed for too damn many years. If Abadi can create jobs in the immediate future all of their years of suppression and tyranny will have been answered with something as simple as hope. The basic needs of people are the same worldwide. Thanks Yota !

Abadi has done a great job so far but his challenge is to appease the masses. If the folks can taste it, touch it, or feel it that's all that they care about after years and years of tyranny. Abadi may have some of their support today but tomorrow could be a different story if change doesn't come quick enough. I pray that Abadi has the answer to empower the Iraqi citizens through much needed jobs , so that they have the ability to feed and cloth their families. There is one thing that I know, a working man or woman doesn't have a lot of time to get in trouble or make trouble !

thanks Yota !

I kinda liken the call for reforms in Iraq tantamount to Trump's popularity in the US. People are just sick and tired of all the political BS and want reforms, too, for which Trump seems to be a lightening rod.

Win, lose or draw I believe he can make a big difference in the way career politicians think. Hell's bells, they may all change their attitudes, and IMHO, that would be a good thing for all citizens of the US and our country.

THOUSANDS OF IRAQIS DEMONSTRATE IN support OF REFORMS[/size]

BY VIVIAN SALAMA

ASSOCIATED PRESS

BAGHDAD (AP) -- Thousands of people are taking to the streets in cities across Iraq to show support for a reform plan put forth by the prime minister this week that aims to target corruption and curb reckless government spending.

People sang, chanted and played music at the demonstrations Friday, the largest of which were in the cities of Baghdad, Babel, Basra and al-Kut. They waved Iraqi flags and banners showing their support for the first of several reform measures from Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.

On Tuesday, lawmakers unanimously approved a reform plan proposed by al-Abadi that eliminates the three vice presidencies and the three deputy prime minister posts. The reforms also expand the powers of the prime minister, allowing him to sack provincial governors and the heads of provincial and local councils.

Not trying to call on this one...

But, this would be a positive turn for our economy, but what of our people.

Saying this I mean, banksters never look out for the people.
