Maliki has had severe mental problems,most probably,his entire life.

I can totally see him putting out an add on Iraqi CL for, "FOOD TASTER WANTED"... Job duties include but not limited to tasting possible poisoned or contaminated foods and beverages as well as dressing up like Iraqi PM as a decoy. Car bomb detecting experience necessary and good shoe throwing skills a plus. Bonus for those who die from poisoning.

My thought exactly.  I remember it said he would get 3rd term but would be poisoned.  I love it that he is paranoid now.  Now he knows how the protesters felt when they just protested for basic services.
