We do not have a gun problem; we have a people problem. As long as people think that they are the center of the universe they will continue to take what they want and remove anyone who 'offense' them. As long a people are permitted to wear their feelings on their sleeves and no one is permitted to say or do anything that interfers with their 'rights' they will continue to think that they are justifed in demanding all who oppose them being the center of the universe to be removed or to pay a high price. We bow at people's feelings. We don't say this or that because it might be offensive to someone somehow. People are not required to grow a spine anymore. This nut job was 'bothered' because his mother was too strict so he killed her class of kindergarderners. I will not bring in other nutjobs out of respect to the children. It is easy to blame a thing but it is people who are the real problem.

A tragedy such as this is beyond belief. My heart and prayers go out to the families of the victims. I have been following all the posts and I only saw one mention of why I believe in the right to bear arms.............to prevent the government from getting totally out of control. They have gone beyond where I think the constitution intended as it is. Remember, Hitler started by allowing citizens to only have a single shot weapon and how they worshiped him ( we have the anointed one ourselves). The people that love freedom and personal responsibility must be ever vigilant. The government, in my opinion, is not my friend. Many of those that govern are in it for the money and the power, not the good of the people. So we have gun control advocates that come up with ideas like "Fast and Furious". I do not know what the answer is to protect our children. We already have metal detectors and school security officers, and many schools can only be entered by the front door where you are greeted immediately and have to have an escort to your destination. Maybe the teachers should be armed, because I agree a bad guy normally will not go where he knows people are armed. Anyway, please pray for the families and our nation.

I don't dismiss it.

Most people will dismiss the thought of mind control as only in sci-fi movies. But it is very real, if they would just do the research. This link is another great place to start for sceptics...

What happened yesterday or the thought that people actually think that arming every teacher in America with assault rifles is the answer. Don't get me wrong, I strongly believe in the 2nd amendment and the right for every American to bear arms. However, the day that Miss Crabtree has a loaded AK 47 assault rifle leaning against her desk while teaching math to her 2nd grade class is the day I seriously consider if this is the environment I want to raise my kids. I'm not gonna pretend like I have the answer because I do not. However, taking God out of our classrooms and putting assault rifles in makes me feel like we are moving in the wrong direction.

I'm totally in agreement with you that their is something fishy going on here. Mind control? I don't know. I do believe there is more to this sudden rash of gun violence then we are being told, why are most shooters found dead? No questions can be answered from a dead guy, end of the line, case closed, few motives, all covered up. There was another shooting today at a hospital I think with 3 dead, lately it's all you see on the news. Think about it, if you wanted to push gun control, what better way to do it then creating an uproar in the public eye? Especially this last terrible loss, gun grabbers will be pushing harder and harder. I truly believe our military will never turn on us, but our government is so corrupt and power hungry at this point nothing would really surprise me. If you remember the theater shooter had a ton of high tech stuff, no way he could have gotten that stuff without inside help, or a ton of money, which he didn't have. The whole thing makes me sick to even think about. <_</>

Kind of like 911, I still don't believe our government did it, but I do believe they knew a lot more then we ever will about it. But if you remember how we sat back and let our rights get stripped away in the name of security, actually most were demanding it. Now something like this? People are already demanding armed security at schools and better security, i'm all for protection of my children. If this keeps going on like this though the public outcry will be to take all guns form everyone just like the government wants. I fear we are heading for a rough ride ahead my friends! I for one will never give up my ability to protect my family, and before the gun grabbing crowd jumps on this, I'm not afraid of anything other then losing someone close to me due to circumstances I could have stopped if I were armed. My ability to protect my loved ones from harm is a right I will die for if comes to it. Let's hope we don't have to go down that road.

Taking God out of the schools was mistake #1.

I too would not want a child to be frightened with a weapon in the classroom, but the world is not like it was and this may be what it takes to protect them???

With 22 grt/grn children it is frightening for us to think it could happen.

Our best weapon is PRAYER.

I think the idea of taking "God out of School's" sadly hasn't even crossed the minds of the majority in this country as being one of the leading causes of this problem. A few demanded to take every mention of His name out of schools, now they wonder "how a loving God could allow this"! Really??? Maybe if we did invite Him back in, He would bring some morality back with Him, and protection... instead He leaves us to our own devices until we turn back to Him.

On another note... the Media, according to this insightful article is handling this situation in the worst possible way... setting us up for another situation just like this. Read Morgan Freeman's thoughts on this... very interesting.

It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine?

Disturbed people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.

CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

I am in agreement with Mr. Freeman. We need to remove the name of every person who has destroyed the lives of the innocent and their families. The media could just report that a "known person" committed the atrocity. Remember the event, but remove the identity of the person. We have made killers heros and in some cases paid them for their story to publish and make into a movie. How dumb is that?

When society starts glorifying monsters, promoting immoral behavior, and ridiculing the person who acts and responds with honor, then society is IN decline. Forget the monsters. Lift up the righteous hero. Remove the destruction, mind numbing, life changing videos that promote violence of ANY sort. And then start teach our young minds rational thinking with God as the center of life; THEIR LIFE.

Could not agree more with you. Right now fear is leading the charge and when we are afraid, we start to look desperately for a quick solution. Usually that is when we are at the greatest risk of making mistakes or errors in judgement. I was always taught that paying is talking to God and mediatation is listening to him. I sure hope the folks in Washington and around the country meditate as much as they pray because God has the answer for us but if we don't listen to him, we will never hear it.

That's so true, too many people have guns and don't take proper safety measures, and most of the mass shootings the gun came from their home.

This is Victoria. She died a hero. She hid her first graders in the cabinets and closets after hearing the gunfire. When the shooter came to her classroom, she told him that her students were in the gym. He then gunned her down and moved on. She saved the lives of all of her students. Please pass this on if you see it. She deserves to be remembered for her bravery.
