  3. Thanks, Jac, for your valid point, post and observations! Thanks, Bumber, for being so solid, friendly and for working so hard! Any time I read your opinion in one of my posts I feel like you have an outstanding heart. Thanks for being here in times like these! - Barboza
  4. I am hoping O has the wisdom to undo it!
  5. I really appreciated your point of view, tacticalmedic69. You wrote something in there that really shows your perception of greatness when you see one. You wrote, and I quote: "Your joy at sharing what is obviously your passion will be missed." I agree with you 100%. - Barboza
  6. Just my opinion on " and the small amounts are running about three times as cosly. I am told only because the fraight to ship so many bills..etc." Perhaps another reason for being so expensive could be the fear that larger bills would have a time limit to be cashed in before the IQD reaches a higher value. 7. A reflection on my friend Scooter. The world in which we live has always been blessed with superior minds and altruistic spirits that have made an impact and contributed for the well being of our souls. Not many people have been able to recognize the potential they have individually, and just a few are capable to identify the wonderful contributions that made a difference in our lives. We cannot deny the influence of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Bach, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Monet, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Picasso, Pascal, Copernicus, Galileo, Einstein, Pasteur, Chaucer, Shakespeare, Dostoyevsky, Saint-Exupery, Hugo, Cervantes, Camoes, Paine, Poe, Emerson, Hawthorne, Twain, Hemingway, Faulkner, Lee and Eliot, just to name a few. Even though we recognize them, and they may be present in our thoughts, they are figures from our past. It is always important to give the proper credit to whom credit is due, and – in my opinion – it is even more important to seize the moment… because life is a sum of the present moments. After this long introduction, I just would like to express once more my deepest gratitude to a man I have learned to respect and love like a genuine brother. Even though I still ignore his real name, I have sensed and known his real heart and soul through his contributions to several internet sites. I have already told Scooter before that when I think I have seen his utmost work, he always surprises me by reinventing himself and breaking his own record. I realize that Scooter also has a family, a job, friends, and several other commitments in life; I know that he has no financial gain in spending his precious time among us; I recognize that he has sometimes answered the same questions hundreds of time, but with the same integrity, the same humble spirit that is so essentially part of his character. I also know that this lounge has some great people, but it is not necessarily made up of people that really reciprocate Scooter's efforts by giving back to him time, attention, additional contributions, and recognition. Thank you, Scooter, for everything you have done for us! I hope your valuable contribution will impact our lives, so we may prosper enough to make a difference in the lives that could be helped and blessed by our generosity! I will miss you, my friend! - Joseph Barboza
  8. Thank you for posting this article, DinarThug! A few days ago I asked Scooter three times this same question: Is Erbil responsible for the RV delay (IQD)? He was probably too busy, and didn't answer that. (And he didn't have enough time available!) - Barboza
  9. Great and reasonable point of view, lgraham! I agree with you! Go Shabibi! Go Iraq! Go RV! - Barboza

  13. Belarus devaluation spreads panic ShareretweetEmailPrint AP – A visitor looks at empty shelves in a shop in Minsk, Belarus, Monday, May 23, 2011. Belarusians swept store shelves and queued for entire days at currency exchange offices in a desperate attempt to protect their savings from the country's sinking fortunes. President Alexander Lukashenko promised that the national currency will remain stable following the devaluation ordered a day earlier, but experts warned it will continue its nosedive if Russia doesn't provide a quick bailout. Confidence in the ruble, whose value is fixed in Belarus, has dropped for weeks amid fears over the country's finances and the country's lack of support from its neighbors, both the EU and Russia. Belarusian officials on Tuesday cut the ruble's official value against the dollar almost in half Tuesday — to 4,930 rubles per dollar from the previous 3,155. The perceived value of the local currency is much lower, however — on the black market it takes 6,000 rubles to buy a dollar. To make matters worse, there is a physical shortage in the country of dollars and euros, which companies and households desperately want to own to protect themselves from a worse devaluation in the future. The government's own reserves are badly depleted and exchange offices have run out of foreign currency because they are allowed only to sell what they buy from clients. Andrei Krylevich, 42, has spent a week in lines outside an exchange booth in downtown Minsk without a chance to buy a single dollar. The computer company he works at has sent its employees on an unpaid leave, and he urgently needs to pay back a $9,000 loan to a bank. 14. If Iraq stops paying their good-for-nothing government, and starts charging them a substantial fee for each day without a complete GOI... we will see some results withing a few hours! - Barboza[/size]
  15. Great post, Slaydadea! It's time to be optimistic... and prepare for RV!
  16. Yes... Maliki has been portrayed as a bad guy... and he probably is. But if he has been dragging his feet since December, it is NOT his fault! It's due to the lack of REAL men in that Parliament! - Barboza
  17. Thank you, Aaanth, for the post. This never-ending tamtrum and lack of commitment will always be the way you spell Iraqi government. First of all, it was America's fault for bringing the soldiers home when Iraq didn't have a FULL government in place. And now, that the USA, IMF, UN, WB, Paris Club, and the whole wide world have made every provision to allow them to be proud of themselves and take a stand as a free and active financial nation... they still seem to have one basic problem: they may wear pants, but they lack real men in those pants! What do I mean? Well, I mean men of integrity, who will recognize the needs of their people... men who will provide all the means for their real freedom... and place human rights, dignity and responsibility above any personal gain. The potential is there! But Maliki is also there... and the ones that could make a call for his early retirement are not daring to act... probably because they have heen caught with their hands in the cookie jar. It is a battle indeed. It has been a long one! But, - thank God - the winds are shifting.
  18. Thank you, Scooter, for your comments! Thank you for making the time to educate us! - Barboza
  19. Thank you, robear, for your post! One of the responses to your point of view was posted by 2305, and he or she doesn't have a clue about American politics! 2305 wrote: "it wasnt Obama that created this mess. It was the previous presidents. This was on obamas plate when he took over. " If 2305 could rewind the tape, prior to election day, he/she would notice that Obama repeatedly told the American people that - if elected - he would reduce Bush's national debt. (In my opinion, that was the MAIN reason why Obama was elected!) Now, did he reduce or triplicate it? - Barboza
  20. Adam made a comment about a word used by Shabibi: [Adam Montana] Shabibi - just recently - spoke of something funny, he mentioned a term we should recognize [Adam Montana] "propaganda" [Adam Montana] I think we all know what that means, it's like Joe Biden's "gaffs" [Adam Montana] magicians use the same trick - it's called "misdirection" [Adam Montana] aka look at this hand, not THIS one smiles] I do not think it was intentionally a misdirection. In SEVERAL languages, the word 'propaganda' does not have the bad connotaion we find in English. Once Dr. Shabibi said the word PROPAGANDA, he immediately found a better word, ADVERTISEMENT. What he really meant - IMO - was: in order to finalize the lifting of the zeros it is imperative that the Iraqi people go through an educational process. I appreciate Adam for taking his time to hepl us. But I thought this particular comment should be addressed. Go RV! - Barboza
  21. Hi, Usndiver! I appreciate you point of view! Perhaps the best assessment so far! - Barboza
