  1. Nice of you to think of your family members. But as with all things...everyone has a choice to make. Be they educated about it or not, if they choose to speculate with currency, then so be it. You, yourself, have the free will to either speculate or not. But you DO NOT have the right to tell anyone else what they did or may do, is wrong. If they ask for your advice as to your thoughts and information you may have on something, then by all means, please enlighten them to the best of your ability. But, myself, as well as many others here have done our due diligence and don't believe everything we hear from the "kool-aid" drinkers nor the "lopsters". We, my family, purchased our dinars over 10 years ago while in Iraq. The money has been spent and now we see it through. It's not your money to worry about. It's one thing for you to present the "evidence" as you see it. Quite another to try to insist that others take that evidence and come to the same conclusion as yourself.
  2. Gotta love Iraq. Yesterday they were getting ready to implement and today they are preparing the draft. But at least they are moving forward and it looks good.
  3. Nope...don't want to drive with fools However, I do live close to Chicago...we have our own group of fools!! I am from ND in a little town. No salt on the roads there just sand for the intersections! I still call the salt trucks....sand trucks every now and then and people look at me like I am crazy!
  4. It's definitely cold.....However, I am one of the very few who LOVES the cold It was 9 degrees yesterday morning and as I took my dog for a walk I enjoyed every minute of it. Unlike in the summer when I am grumbling the entire 2 miles about how dang hot I am....and not in a good way
  5. Sure....allow them to go off and be terrorists, is it any surprise when they return as terrorists? They should be worried about what is going to happen within their country with the return of the these people.
  6. Another mess Maliki left for Abadi to clean up. Deficits happen but it was no accident with Maliki in control.
  7. As I was told when I was in a very similar place as you.....keep your head up and focus on one thing at a time. Take baby steps to keep going and pretty soon they are leaps and bounds. It's easy to get overwhelmed and discouraged when you look at everything and don't know where to go or where to start. If you have to take it minute by minute, then do that. Soon it will be hour by hour and day by day. It's really hard when you fall that far down but you will be able to get back out and be a stronger, better person on the other side. I relied heavily on my faith but if you are not spiritual, it can seem like one more thing for you to do when you are just trying to survive. But honestly, I don't know how I would have gotten past it without Jesus guiding me and keeping me sane. (((hugs))) and prayers for you.
  8. One of my close friends uses wheatgrass consistently. She has to cover her gray hair monthly. I do not ever drink or ingest wheatgrass and I have not one gray hair....but mine is genetics My father was killed at the age of 71 and he had about 5 gray hairs on his temple. Although there are many benefits to wheatgrass....I should be taking advantage of those benefits.
  9. Me too. As far as the Bakken Oil Field...it's just getting started Wait until winter really sets in!
  10. I don't think so...just read an article that says no one has a vacation until they do
  11. Nice to see others appreciate Sandfly also
  12. Novice....nothing is ever for certain with Iraq so to try and predict when everything will fall into place is pretty much impossible. They are moving faster than I have seen them in the 10 yrs I have had dinar. As far as the rate change...yup...one day you will wake up and it will be changed. Maybe a little, maybe a lot....we really don't know and certainly cannot predict. Hopefully soon...and my soon not Iraq's soon
  13. I love winter. However, I believe I like to ease into it rather than have it slam into me Tomorrow is our day for drastic temperature drop. Today I went running in my t-shirt and was still to warm. Once we get some snow though, I can get the cross country skis out and enjoy the solitude since most people in my area of Illinois tend to stay inside when it is below 40
  14. I like this article. Pretty much taking the government out of business and making it more of a free market.
  15. Thanks tankdude...I was waiting to see if you would respond to this. My hubby doesn't tell me everything going on but he always tells me if he is being activated or if there is a threat that he will be activated.
  16. Seems to me that if Iraq is counting on Kurdistan region for economic growth as other articles have indicated, then Baghdad should be working nicely with Kurdistan regarding Article 140.
  17. It does seem to be mostly retail jobs and the like. No matter where I go I see help wanted signs in the windows (some are seasonal and some are year round). My local paper has 2 pages of help wanted ads. There is everything from OTR drivers, to loading dock workers, to police hiring. Quite a few for office managers at health care locations or manufacturing. I am always seeing job postings for CNA and RN's. I have friends back in ND that live central and east ND and they cannot get workers. The pay is above minimum wage ( a few quite a lot above min wage) and the job is certainly not as taxing as oil field work. But they have opening for months at a time. So there may not be the high paying jobs of old but the jobs are out there...and not all at McDonalds or Wal-Mart.
  18. hmmm....interesting read. However, my husband is US Army Reserves and he has not been activated. No one in his unit has been activated...he is the CSM. He has made inference to things but nothing within country.
  19. I do believe that all countries issue bank notes and coins to be used within their country. Do they generally end up in other countries...yup. Depending on each interpretation you could understand it to be that CBI does not or will not honor any dinar outside of Iraq. My interpretation is that CBI is the only entity that can or will print bank notes and coins that are legal tender for Iraq. That it is the countries money and is not the money for Kuwait or any other country. I don't interpret it as not being honored outside of Iraq. Although each country has that option...such as when they changed from the Suddam dinars to the IQD.
  20. I saw the program and just wanted to reach through the tv and throttle him. What a piece of work. It is very disturbing and the fact that they have the "right" to stand out on the street and demonstrate and spout their filth is so wrong....but I guess it falls under some protection or another such as our Freedom of Speech. It is people like him that make others hate and fear Muslims and with no action against this sort of demonstration and recruitment, then the hate spreads and becomes much harder to wipe out. And it also causes hatred towards all Muslims regardless if they are practicing their religion quietly and without any sort of extremism. I do have a guarded acceptance of the muslim faith since I have met quite a few women of the faith and actually enjoy their company...with no religion talked about. But do I trust them...absolutely not...and I am sure that is because of all the lunatics associated with the faith. There are a few people of the Christian faith that I don't trust at all either.
  21. It's all fun and games until it comes back to you....they are nothing but big bullies who, as soon as someone sticks up to them, they run and cower.
  22. Nope...didn't realize that Theseus...but 13 has always been my lucky number I am just hoping whatever happens that day is good news...doesn't matter if it's dinar related...although that would be fantastic and I would always listen to the voices from now on
