  1. I remember seeing on the CBI site they were calling for a contractor to take this project on. Anyway, that document on the CBI site had some sort of deadline/timeline on it. Does someone have the time to look into that and offer a second opinion?
  2. So, I used to live in Coronado (on H in between Third and Fourth). I can tell you that at least three times I've come home with several hundred (US) dollars worth of currency from all over SE asia and the gulf. Me and 3500 of my closest friends were always looking for a place to change back to greenbacks. That may be why they have a de la rue. Also, this branch is small, but I'll bet you a million dollars they process more money than any bank twice their size on the other side of the bridge. Anyone who as ever lived in Coronado knows I ain't lying.
  3. I used to be in the printing industry. If in fact Iraq has bought whole printing presses (MULTI MILLIONS of dollars for this type of printing) then they will be at least two or three YEARS in the learning curve to be able to print off of them. Unless the press came with a crew, then maybe a year and a half. The technology involved in anti counterfeiting is amazing. The printed medium and all of the items that go into it to make it money are not available everywhere. There are only two or three printing companies in the world that can handle production of such a complex note. Oh yeah, the people running the presses, whose pocket are they going to be in? Because they are literaly printing money. You think there will be any corruption in that office? Probably not, it's Iraq and no one there would ever think of such a thing. Especially not a government official. Whose job it is to print money.
  4. Been ignoring for a while, but saw this today. I am not registered on their site, so I am not able to view the video. I also suspect it is spoken in Arabic. Anyway, if anyone wants to tackle it, follow up with some interpretation. Link: http://www.alsumaria.tv/Press-Releases/92/bi-tarikh-al-ghad-does-iraq-have-a-chance-to-be-re “Bi Tarikh Al Ghad” socio-political talk show sheds lights in this week’s episode on Sunday March 4, on Iraq’s chance to be removed from the UN Charter Chapter VII sanctions. Host Ahmad Hassan ponders upon this issue with his guests in this week’s episode of “Bi Tarikh Al Ghad”. Why was Iraq subject to Chapter VII sanctions? Which UN Resolutions are still imposed on Iraq? And which resolutions came to an end? What are Iraq dues regarding these resolutions? What are the hindrances before removing Iraq from UN Charter Chapter VII? Which countries are using Kuwait’s issue against Iraq? What should be the commitments of Iraq in order to end Chapter VII sanctions? What are the country’s economic and financial dues and what are the political implications in case Iraq was removed from UN Charter Chapter VII? How much does Iraq need to compensate for Kuwait invasion? Where do the Arab League and the United States stand regarding this issue? Will the Arab Summit in Baghdad help to lift off Chapter VII sanctions on Iraq? All these questions will be addressed with Hakem Al Zamili member of the parliamentary defense and security committee for Al Ahrar Bloc, and Hassan Shwaider Al Hamadani, member of the parliamentary external relations committee for Al Iraqiya List in addition to Sami Al Askari member of the external relations committee for the National Alliance of the State of Law Coalition, Majida Al Tamimi member of the parliamentary financial committee for Al Ahrar Bloc and Mehsen Saadun, vice president of the parliamentary Kurdistan Alliance Party. Stay tuned to this week’s episode of “Bi Tarikh Al Ghad” on Sunday March 4 at 10:00 pm Baghdad time. You may follow the rerun on Monday at 10:00 am.
  5. PERSONAL INFO POSTED! Read what you post people. It's a dangerous world out there.
  6. Baghdad is on the other side of the dateline from us.
  7. I stood at attention, rendering a solemn salute to two of the funeral processions that went by my house as a result of that chinook being shot down. That's boots on the ground intel for you. You can take your conspiracy theory bullsh*t and shove it your a**.
  8. Try this link, it's the English version of the site: http://www.iraq-lg-law.org/en This resource is worth pinning, by the way.
  9. I've got firsthand knowlege about gear from Iraq also. Most of what I work on was so full of sand and baked so brittle that the corrosion treatment and rewire time was way more expensive than a brand new asset. That stuff from the ME has been used to its fullest and a lot of it coming back is in pretty bad shape.
  10. The Iraqi 'Gazzette' is the official record of all items passed by the Iraqi parliament. It is not a newspaper, like the name implies (in English). I have seen one or two links to it, but never anything current. The last I saw of it was from a watchdog website that monitors human rights abuses around the world. I understood the website to be based out of a college, university of Utah if I can remember correctly, but do not quote me on that. Obviously, if DinarVets (what I mean is the collective members of) could track down a current list of the Iraqi Gazzette, that would go a LONG WAY towards debunking and or confirming wether or not certain items of legislation have passed or not. Can anyone expand on this?
  11. I put the number on 'speed dial'. Plus I am using an app I found for my Droid that lets me program a text to be sent at any interval I want for as long as I want. I'm going to use 'text to voice' and ask this guy every day at close of business if he would call or text me with an update on the RV. Sound Good? Said with as sarcastic as a voice as I can muster. Oh yeah, when he calls me back (I'm pretty sure he will, because I'm an American) I'll post what he says for everyone here.
  12. IF the CBI uses these auctions to get the large denomination IQD off of the streets and pays for them in USD, Then this theory might hold water: Demand has gone down because of in country speculation saying to hold onto IQD because of a possible RV. Any takers?
  13. Wait a minute. The lake of fire is hell? (Thanks for the clarification.)
  14. No bashing intended here but... I think I have read some version or another of this same article at least seven times. Did one news agency pick up the story and it has now been recycled six more times? Trying to assemble a timeline in my mind for just this article. I think it's been at least 40 days since the first iteration. Any clarification?
  15. This invenstment is on the back burner for me now. After having a great weekend with my friends and enjoying some of my other hobbies I had before I started tracking the Dinar, I've realized that there are other things that I can devote just as much energy to. I strongly suggest taking a breather, it has done me a ton of good.
  16. Take the RV colored glasses off people. Sales are down. The article states the sales are down from Monday. Monday 179 Tuesday 135 Where the heck is it saying the website is down?????
  17. The government does pay riduculous prices... for ridiculous capability. The stuff I see every day is crazy small, hardened against repeated take offs and landings and will function accross all seven continents. Oh yeah it flies against every enemy nation out there trying to one up us. Did I mention it's capability, reliability, and lethality? You think that's cheap? It's not. And some of the engineering I've seen is crazy. There is some serious brainpower behind solutions to real world air dominance. And do you think there is no pressure to stay out in front? You bet there is. Everyone wants to capture or spy their way into the stuff we fly right now. And it's a daily battle to keep it to opurselves. I am proud to have worked where I work, and I have little tolerance for generalized comments regarding 1+1=10. Guess what? Staying in front costs real money and real time and real effort. 100% of which the general public does not have exposure to. Blatant price mongering does not have a place in government contracts, and to combat that there is an avenue for me to call out suppliers who provide me substandard or out of spec parts. Don't think that everyone who works on the government dime is content to have the taxpayers foot the bill day in and day out. There are some of us that see the big picture. But when you are in the gulf and that E2C has got to fly, the money WILL be spent without a second thought. Because it's aircrew lives I am thinking about, not the debt ceiling.
  18. 900 for a 7 dollar switch? Sounds about right to me. I hate to say it, but the amount of money I burn through at work would make ALL of your heads spin. Aviation ain't cheap, and neither is fighting a war. By no means am I condoning blatant rip offs, but in the community I am in, s**t is EXPENSIVE.
  19. Advice such as downloading the FINCEN form and having it filled out before hand is not speculation. Also, advice like reading the form and knowing the terms it describes is better than speculation. http://www.fincen.gov/forms/files/fin104_ctr.pdf
  20. GP! Consistantly sound and accurate advice. Thanks man!
  21. I draw the line at posting personal info, or challenging individuals to face to face meetings. If you are not able to make your point in a succinct, respectful manner, then I reserve the right to think you are an idiot and move on. This forum, or any forum, in no way should lead to confrontation beyond typing your opinion.
  22. Why would those rates published on this sheet be different that what they are right now? All I would have to do to make TONS of money would be to buy whatever currency that would change the most as per this list. There is no way we are getting advance info on changing rates. If this was advance info, every single one of us would be buying xxx curency and then cashing in on AUG 1. I don't think this list is any indicator of anything at all.
