I know they say it show everyone that i signed up for the petition and find themselves audited by the IRS. Of course folks won't use their real names so in my opinion a waste of time. But hey it is better than taking to the streets and end up in those FEMA camps that some talked about so long ago.

You, too, are indeed LOST, LOSTenso....

You've lost your sense of Independence and Justice.

Sheep dipped in kool-aid will continue to bleat the naysayer rhetoric they

have come to believe as their zombie mantra and tout their 'king' as greatest of all...

That's what us Veterans fought/fight for... your right to do so as an American.

But casting aspersions on Americans who will not hand their Country over to a

communist/socialist/failure of a 'leader' makes one look very small indeed.

You could at least give us some respect for having our convictions and standing up for them.

Oh come on now. We could certainly say the same. I consider the anti-Obama rhetoric here to be offensive, and I'm not even all that excited to have him as my president. I'll have respect for your "convictions" if you can show the same respect for mine. Or if you wanna just speak freely and not complain about an opinion other than your own, that works too.

Casting stones, are you? Interesting.

Huh? Not even close.

We have shown you respect by acknowledging our sacrifice to keep you able to speak freely.

(As TXGRANNY says....Read carefully what is posted.)

Asking for you to respect our right to do the same is apparently asking too much of you.

We're not "complaining" as you put it. We acknowledged your right to say it.

What exactly did you fail to comprehend?

Not casting stones, people are incensed at the reelection of the president. I voted for Romney and he did not win. You will hear all kinds of stories and internet myths but it is what is. you can choose to squawk raise cane seed from the unions which won't happen and make yourself miserable and life passes you by. Regardless life will go on and for those who choose to stay in place and jump up and down hold their breath pass gas and cry well that is their choice. I choose to move on and make the best of what i have. Not going to sign any petitions and if i was i will use my real name not some persona.

Thanks

Well, I'm thankful that yours was not the prevailing philosophy when we revolted against those that ruled us during the Revolutionary War.Otherwise, we'd all be speaking English right now (badoom-cha!)

If we don't fight to keep our rights and our Constitution intact, we'll be destroyed from the inside out. What you're seeing is rebellion against a government that doesn't line up with our own Constitution. I want what I'm promised on our founding documents - nothing more and nothing less.

Huh? Not even close.

I wasn't talking to you, actually, so that might explain your "Huh?"

We appreciate your not casting stones.

We are incensed, and in our opinion, justified in same.

Some of us study long and hard to ascertain facts, not myth - nor conjecture.

We are not "squawking", but raising our voices in unison for the common good,

Liberty & Justice.

And as long as we attempt the machinations to cede (not "seed") from what we perceive as

tyranny, we believe we are more in control of our own destiny as a Nation.

Better than sitting back allowing it to be mowed under and rolled over only to wake up when

it's too late.

Life does go on, how we choose to spend it is up to us.

We're glad you are making the best of what you have.

We, personally, choose not to settle.

We, as Americans, want everything we work hard for and the right to have it and not

have to settle for less or have it taken away from us to the degree it has been.

Should you join the efforts of many to make a change and know that at least you tried

when it all goes to hell in a handcart, we would hope you would show no fear and use your real

name. Commendable, as we, as Americans, should not have to live in fear of our government.

Welcome aboard. :salute:

I would believe in the legitimacy of Obama's win (not in the voter fraud sense but in the sense what the people who voted for him tend to contribute to these type of posts), if it weren't for the overwhelming lack of intelligence I seem to come across when reading comments on various websites regarding the election. All you see is things like"LMAO ya'll are just mad your boy lost get over it" and similar posts to that affect. Poor grammar or constant caps lock, or using internet slang instead of proper English. What the Presidents supporters are going to have to accept is that if we are upset it is because we really do care what happens to this nation and are not just looking for a hand out from it.

Even if these states do not get to officially succeed, it will still send a very loud and clear message to this administration. We are allowed to keep an eye on what this president does, we are allowed to scrutinize it and analyze it from every angle. It is not only our right but our civic duty to do so. Maybe if more people performed this civic duty, the general population would have known better than to re-elect this "Celebrity In Chief".

Now go back to watching Jersey Shore, or Honey Boo Boo, the adults are talking.

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/11/12/15117305-petition-for-texas-to-secede-from-us-reaches-threshold-for-white-house-response?lite

WOW, this has actually made MSNBC news headlines, pretty crazy for a O loving media site but here it is:

Petition for Texas to secede from US reaches threshold for White House response

By Vignesh Ramachandran

An online petition that calls for the State of Texas to withdraw from the U.S. and create its own government on Monday reached the required signature threshold to receive an official response from The White House.

The petition on WhiteHouse.gov asks the Obama administration to "peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own new government." The petition had surpassed 34,000 signatures as of Monday evening. It was created by a person self-identified only as "Micah H." from Arlington, Texas.

The petition cites the nation's economic woes as an issue and says that the condition of Texas' budget and economy make it "practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union."

Online petitions on WhiteHouse.gov that get sufficient support are reviewed by White House staff and "sent to the appropriate policy experts." To be searchable on WhiteHouse.gov in the first place, petitions currently need to get 150 signatures within 30 days. To get an official response, petitions need 25,000 signatures within 30 days.

Similar petitions from other states have also been filed including: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Tennessee. However, unlike the petition from Texas, none of these states had reached the 25,000-signature threshold to get an official White House response as of Monday evening.

According to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, a 1866 proclamation signed by then-President Andrew Johnson clearly spelled out that no state had the right to leave the union:

"...It is the manifest determination of the American people that no State, of its own will, has a right or power to go out of or separate itself from, or be separated from the American Union; and that, therefore, each State ought to remain and constitute an integral part of the United States..."

The flurry of petitions are likely just the consequence of voters unhappy with last week's presidential election results. University of Texas at Austin Assistant Professor Jason Casellas told NBC News that's likely the case in Texas, where 57 percent of the state population's vote went for Republican Mitt Romney.

Catherine Frazier, press secretary for Texas Gov. Rick Perry, told NBC News Monday that the governor "believes in the greatness of our Union and nothing should be done to change it."

"But he also shares the frustrations many Americans have with our federal government," Frazier said in a statement. "Now more than ever our country needs strong leadership from states like Texas, that are making tough decisions to live within their means, keep taxes low and provide opportunities to job creators so their citizens can provide for their families and prosper."

Here's another look at the map...County by county

I think it was Dontlop that posted a new way to elect a president.

Each County having an electorial vote, so that the slums/sardine

areas lose influence.....He posted 2 States have that configuration.

I cant remember which....maybe he'll see this and clarify.

Well I just came from the list and now California,Ohio,Delaware,Oregon,Indiana,Utah,Nevada,Arizona,Pennsylvania, are some of the other states that have joined on on this petition. That makes the count now 29 states over half of the countries States started this. Something positive could come of this if enough people sign. Maybe they will listen to us now and not treat us like the annoying kid that want be quite. Texas now has 53034,Louisiana is almost there with 24539.

I completely agree with the spirit of your comments..... what I do not understand, is why people are not targeting the literal and genuine threat to our liberty and "justice" and not signing a petition to repeal the Patriot Act. I just don't get it. Do people understand what that Act is about? We have no rights anymore.... and that has nothing to do with Obama (though he did recently renew it).

Sometimes I think very few people bothered to actually read the entire Patriot Act. It is the single most threatening piece of legislation ever crafted in assulting, eroding and diluting any sembelence of liberty, and we no longer have the basic freedoms given by the US Constitution. I've often wondered what it would take to get people energized to actually read this law and then flip out when they realize, they can be put away for as long as whoever wants, with no representation, no charges filed, and no rights therein whatsoever. It is the actual and genuine platform for martial law on steroids.

The petitions everyone is signing now??? Nothing... nothing.... would theoretically stop the gov from gaffeling up how ever many thousand people they wanted to, detain them for questioning, and hold them as long as they wanted, until they were ready to release them. The PA, gives that authority... and no one seems the least bit phased??!!

By all means sign the petitions... and the threshold means the President's office will respond (to the several hundred thousand out of the many million people who are US citizens). And while these petitions are taking their time winding through the process, and waiting for the response from the White House.... we are still governed by laws that have eliminated our Constitutional liberty and/or freedoms. These rights no longer exist, in that they are readily suspended absent probable cause AND due process, in the event someone somewhere in charge thinks you are a threat (to whatever... literally... its very loosely defined... if that).

(And btw, I don't care who wrote it, who wanted it, who made it happen or how it came to be.... We are here now in this moment. ...Is this something we want to continue living with and under, or do we want something different governing the liberty and freedoms we will live with, or without in the future? )

So I guess what I am saying is....... I hope people remain energized long after these petitions go forward, and then turn that energy toward legislators, demanding the repeal of this law (and the recent fruitcake N whatever law passed for this year)... Target the real threat to your actual liberty, freedom and pursuit of happiness.... Direct your anger at something that so boldly flaunts contempt at the very foundation of the Constitution and this country.... That is where the fight will meet you and take you down in defeat while your back was turned and you were jousting with windmills..........

Blessings to All in this magnificant country........ ~~

That looks better yet, we could even give up some areas and pay, I'll help them pack, to move them to the red areas since that is the lifestyle they obviously have chosen!  I don't understand what the hang up is in NE Minnesota, mostly park and reservation land. The parks I can see lots of tree huggers up there but that is where our cabin is in the Voyageur's National Park and most are pretty conservative. <_<

Cris,

I think my birth state of Nebraska is one of the states that divides it's electoral votes, I agree all of them should go by counties. Otherwise the majority of the state gets their votes negated by others, and with the BS one tie all tie, winner take all system, many don't bother to vote at all because, especially in MN the metro area eliminates our votes anyway!
