I wish to thank each and every person on this site who has served in Iraq and Afghanistan and every other country, where you were taken from your families and have lost your friends and buddies. Please accept my humble gratitude for your service in protecting our country and citizens.

thank you for your appreciation :) I just wish people would be more mature on this site. that post i quoted earlier just about made me sick.

I would like to remind you of a little thing called "Karma". I am more than sure you will definitely get what's coming to you. And it is "entitled" people like you who make the rest of humanity cringe at the thought of sharing some distant DNA.

I dare you to say to the face of a American soldier's wife who husband diedin Iraq. We may even find one on this site for you, Big Man.

Now that I have read through all of the posts so far, I dare to look Automag in the face and say your sentiments to him.

Another thing, that has been bothering me for 4-5 months. On this site, Smee2 accused me once of being a typical American (she is Canadian) that feels "entitled" to RV money and that I felt Iraqi "owes" me. The conversation went beyond insulting me, it tore at my soul, my core. Obviously, it is still bothering me. Her message to me was that the American and Iraqi losses of such great magnitude in so many ways, were okay with me along as I got a payofff with money. I am nauseous thinking about it.

Well, I hope Smee reads this thread and see how truly Americans feel. 99.99999% of of us want the best for the people of Iraq. We aren't the monsters she thinks we are. We, as a country, have given more in blood, treasure, and heart and soul, than any other country in the world, including Canada.

Automag, I am sorry for your loss, but we are proud your cousin choose to be in the military, represent America through his service, and help the people of Iraq. He gave the ultimate sacrifice for us and the Iraqi people. We are proud of him and the debt can never be repaid. That is what America is about. Right Smee? And Nani?, are paying attention at all? You need some real soul searching to be accomplished.

automag, no words of mine can ever be enough, and yet, they must be said. I am soooo very sorry to hear about your cousin!! He and so many other good men have paid the ultimate price to serve their country. They are the heroes whose lives have truly mattered to their nation and to their countrymen. As a mother, a grandmother, and an American, my heart hurts for you and your family, those who loved this fine young man and who will miss him always. I pray God will be with each of you as you endure such an enormous loss.

As Colin Powell put it, the only thing America has ever asked from a country we have defended, is enough realestate to bury our dead. Iraq is not about getting rich, its about giving the people the rights and priviliges,that we as Americans sometimes take for granted. This isn't meant to offend anyone, but to enlighten. Of course you're not monsters as People......Usually the monsters are the Powers that Be... In every country in the world ( or many/most countries)... People are usually (in many or most cases at least) good and generous...It's always been that way.

Who knows who this person is or why they respond in such a cold hearted way. I have only to say while it is insulting, perhaps they have been hoping and praying Iraq would RV for years, and in the long wait have lost any empathy they might have had. Or maybe they lack empathy period, just the way they are. Who knows, who cares, hopefully they will have their cash soon and will be happy.

I want to extend my sympathies to those who fought and died in Iraq and their families. I have lost loved ones not in the war but here at home, and no matter where, no matter who you are there are days and nights you miss them so much.

So here's hoping that maybe when this is over we can initiate some kindness to those we know and those we don't in sharing some of our bounty. :)

I watched a show on Natgeo last night about Saddam and it was a shocker to say the least!!!! He tortured and mass murdered his own people since he was Vice President. He video taped these activities and wasn't ashamed in the least to share these videos with the citizens of Iraq. He wanted the people of Iraq to see this how brutal he could be. The people of Iraq lived in total fear on a daily basis!!!! That was his way of maintaining control. The Iraqi people deserve peace in their lives and to prosper in the future. You should eat some humble pie and retract your statements!
