RE: easyrider - regarding all the rumors

I have to admit that I truly have been torn as how to, or whether I should, respond to your latest post. Please note: I'm not a newbie - and if you check my post you will see that I have never, ever, posted a RUMOR no have I offered any Guru like intel or advice.

Easyrider, I want to say, that I have enjoyed reading most of your post and you seem to be level headed and mostly offer well thought out replies as well as raising much needed and timely questions. In short, I'm glad you are on this site. The reason that I am responding to your question by starting a new thread, instead of a direct reply, is that for the first time I have a bit to offer - and it is definately a rumor - but it goes with all the other "Banking" and "Monday" rumors that seem to appear on a daily basis on this and every dinar site. If I didn't trust my FRIEND completely then I wouldn't be offering this now. But because I do and because I feel like I am part of a community I wanted to respond to your questions and share with you something that I have recently heard.

I have to admit, this is the first time that I have understood and truly appreciate why so many of the rumors are cryptic and want their sources to remain anonymous. I also want to confess that I am not good at "cryptic." I am an open and honest person so I am not comfortable with withholding information.

Other than my own research and what I read here on the sites I only have one source of information - but he/she is a great one! The people that she/he listens to and interacts with would never even think about going to one of these sites. There's nothing here that these people would learn that they don't already know. Often, sometimes daily, after being on these sites and reading the latest "intel" - whether from a known Guru like Okie (only as an example - I enjoy reading Okie stuff - he strikes me as a person who cares about others even if he hasn't been the greatest of prophets) or Frank (who also strikes me as a good person) or... you get the picture - I will call this person and ask and quite often have the intel Guru's info confirmed or denied and more often than not, laughed at. And so far - since I've been in this investment - this person has been right!

Well (and here's the Rumor - please forgive me but I feel like I have to write it a certain way because of who this person is - you know I have to admit that when I read stuff like this sometimes it pi$$es me off because of the lack of more specific details and info - now I realize that it's because I truly want to "believe", and to do that I have to check it out myself) for the first time this person called me with a "it's done" story; and this person was estatic.

This person said that he/she had just seen their "banker friend who handles their corporate account" (he gave me the person's name and the nationally known bank. It's a bank that has gone out of their way to make sure everyone knows that they don't buy, sell, or believe in the IQD) who patted him/her on the back and congratulated him/her for once again being right. The banker admitted to my FRIEND that he (the banker) had always thought of the IQD as something in the future - the far away future - if at all. But was now freely admitting that like yahoo and intel (internet stocks) he (the banker) had been completely wrong. He tried to make an appointment with my friend to come into the bank early next week to talk about how my FRIEND would deposit funds. At this point my FRIEND laughs and tell me (not the banker) "**** him, he's just trying to make sure some of my money stays with him - he'll get very little of the total, I've got other things to do with my money than letting a short sighted moron get it."

Now I have to say, at this I pointed out to him/her that not only was he/she telling me a BANKING story, but a IT'S GONNA RV ON MONDAY story as well.

"You know I've been reading these stories and calling you about them for months now" I said.

My friend just laughs and says, "Yeah, but not from me."

I go on and push "date and rate" ...

"Over $3, but that's not from the banker, I'm not giving him my money nor am I paying their spread - been through that before." (My FRIEND truly has been through this RV business before)

At that point, we went on to talk about kids and grandkids and stuff we were planning for the weekend.

I have been in the financial services and investment business for over 30 years now. The only thing I have done longer is to be married to my wife. (Better than any RV). I don't make a dime off of anyone purchasing IQD. Largely because of the "Rumor Mill and Cash-in Monday" stories, I have bought all that I am ever going to buy. Period. I don't want anyone to buy any IQD because of this story. I am truly tired of "It's going to RV on Monday" stories - and in all honesty I think the deflated expectation from the over used rumor mill has cost the Dealers mega bucks. (not sure why the thought of that makes me smile)

Also, after all the rule changes and the "I'm not going to open the Cash In Offices I've promised for the last 5 years" - or the renigged "sell you the gold and silver on cash in day" from the major IQD dealers, my faith in them has gone completely out the door. Though I will have to say, better than anything they've actually said - when they changed the reserve program, or in some cases, eliminated it completely & started using verbage saying that "if you made an appointment and didn't show up to Cash In they were going to sue you"; I began thinking that a RV was closer than we had been hearing.

Easyrider, I sometimes think that the intel we are getting from some of the "Gurus" is just incomplete intel. But, sometimes I believe it is speculation passed on as truth. Sure, there are "pumpers" out there doing their P.T. Barnum impersonation (a sucker born every minute) and there are the "Newbie" doubters that tell you why it's not going to RV or pull out old articles about the LOP (always around the time for reserves to be completed). But most of us have identified who those people are.

I have my own very valid reasons why I purchased the dinar that I hold - all of which is based on investor knowledge, history, and risk assesment. Not on the Pumps. But darn if I can't keep my eyes off of the "Rumors". - All my best, RS

I commend you for saying what you had to say in the most effective way possible, using language, grammar, punctuation, and spelling you can be proud of, but then, you admitted to grandparenthood and you must have come from a time when those things mattered. Your information comes from a source you trust. And they got it from a source they trust. That is the very best anyone can do in reporting what may be good news, but not confirmable news. I appreciate your honesty, reasons for not giving more detailed information (which I have always said but no one seems to pay attention), and your skill in reporting. When I owned and operated my little hometown weekly newspaper I could have used someone like you ...

I love golf. I use to play about 100 rounds a year with a 3.6 (handicap), but since all this financial mess I've only played about 9 rounds and my handicap is a 6. (I can't play to it - though) I hope your and mine golf dreams come true.

I would change bankers as well just because......but I certainly hope he is right. According to Adam he feels 2 major events have to happen before an RV is official...all the GOI,HCL, chapter 7, stuff so maybe some of that has occurred?

I love golf. I use to play about 100 rounds a year with a 3.6 (handicap), but since all this financial mess I've only played about 9 rounds and my handicap is a 6. (I can't play to it - though) I hope your and mine golf dreams come true.

If you can play only 9 rounds a year and keep a 6, you are a PLAYER! Hope you can get back to 100 rnds a year, I try to play twice a week but doubt that I get 50 rounds a year in.

Great post! I felt that you really put some time into writing this, and it also felt as if you were across the table from me explaining everything.

I too have been hearing some second hand "bank rumors" from friends and family friends, some I believe and some that I wish on! I think "wish" is the important key. We are very subjective as humans, and can hear the good or the bad in anything based on how subjective or "open" we are at the time. Anytime we are listenting or reading something, our brain and emotions get involved. It is really hard as subjective beings to try to be objective about this speculative investment.

I want to thank you for your comments. I think I'll print it and save it to show my grandchildren. They may even let me put it on the fridge next to their special art. To be honest, I would have loved to have written for a hometown paper. I have been published in several finacial and management circulations. Though those were always work I still enjoyed the writting and editing process. Who knows, maybe that's what I'll do in the years to come.

Adam may be absolutely right on. But with this speculative invest it seems that only those who are actually in control of it are the ones with any real inside information - and they're not talking. To me, right or wrong isn't really important. There are no brownie points for being right with no end to the journey and no cash in my back pocket for having taken the risk.

I am absolutely certain that Iraq will have a tradeable currency. Why? Because every country around them has one; and all are highly valued. The real questions are How and When. After that, then a second round of speculation will begin, then based on it's actual RV (value), the best way to preserve and use it.

You are absolutely right and I am happy to have someone else share, without pumping, what they are hearing from family and friends.

I read once, "That a man whose income and investments depend on a certain point of view will seldom change his perspective or opinion." And while it is best to never get emotional about investments; especially speculative investments, I have found it almost impossible to not be emotionally bound to this one. I have really thought about this and why I feel that way. And I think it is because of the community here on this site, and more importantly, becoming so familiar with the history of Iraq and the hardships of it's people. Not even Dante could have dreamed up a never ending HELL of corruption and pain these people have gone through in the last thirty years. When I hang on every little victory these people have or be angry with every disclosure of corruption and murder; it wouldn't be human to not become emotionally involved in their struggle
