Remember, no one really  knows what will happen, or when. They're simply stating their opinions based on what they perceive to be happening in Iraq... :twothumbs:RON

** Pimpy  We're just waiting for the courts to ratify the election so that Sadr could continue working on developing this government.  So, so far so good.  It's looking like things are falling into place.  We really want to see Al-Kazemi in there.  I'd love to see him continue to do the great work that he's doing and do what it takes to make sure that Iraq is back on track and their people are prospering.

** Frank26  [Firefly boots-on-the-ground Iraqi TV update]  Firefly: They just told us all foreign troops including the United States of America troops will all be gone from Iraq...  They told us the reason why everyone's leaving is because we have full sovereigntyFRANK:  Wow..!  Stop and think about it the only way that you could raise the value of your currency is if you had security and stability. We talked about it...Dr. Shabibi talked about it...

I understand they want us out, but I don't think that is going to happen.  For their protection, and our security of the middle east, we will probably keep our bases there.  Although, Mr. Biden (not my president), will probably give everything to them, just like Afghanistan.  Probably leave all our military equipment to Iraq also.

We have invested a lot of money, and lives to save them from Saddam Hussein.   All they need to do is revalue their currency, and we will at least be reimbursed for the money.  Can never be reimbursed for the american lives we lost.

The US Embassy in the Green zone exceeds 5 million SF....and that's larger than the Pentagon.....

Why is it that big?....

It is the major information gathering facility in the region and beyond.... the CIA is one of the beneficiaries of that facility...

Embassies are the norm for countries conducting business in other countries.....the US will always maintain that Embassy and the Military support required to keep it safe and running....

ISIS was defeated using Intel gleaned using the resources within the Embassy, within the Green Zone....   CL

coors, I’ve been in that embassy and it is big. They house a lot of people plus the DFAC servs better food than most restaurants here in the states. The store they sell alcohol in is bigger than anyone I have been in here in the states.
