The magazine featured extracts from the biography of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, the environment in which he grew up, his study, his family names, and his entering the political process opposing Saddam Hussein's regime.
The magazine also showed excerpts from the opinions of observers about his personality, which they see as the most powerful "shadow man" in Iraq, and after his arrival in the Intelligence Department, he was able to develop a negotiating figure who knows how to draw borders.

The magazine says that Al-Kazemi is the youngest prime minister (53 years), he moved today from the shadow to the light, to find before him major challenges, not least of which is to get out of the crisis in Iraq, and sent signs of hope in the present and future of the country, and gain the confidence of Iraqis angry at the economic and social reality The bitter, who took a heavy to the street. And the Saudi magazine says that when he returned to Iraq, after the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime in 2003, he participated in resolving conflicts and documenting the crimes of the previous regime. He ran from Baghdad and London the “Humanitarian Dialogue” organization, worked in the press, and his articles focused on social peace files in Iraq, He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the "Weekly" magazine in 2007 with the support of the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, and Mustafa Al-Kazemi, Director General of the Intelligence Service, worked during the period of ISIS control of several Iraqi cities.

The magazine mentioned Al-Kazemi’s assertion that his government will ensure that the sovereign decision is in the hands of Iraqis and not others, and adds that “the sovereignty of Iraq is a red line and cannot be complimented.” He pointed out that the primary goals of his government are to fight corruption, return the displaced to their homes, and hold early elections, Combat the outbreak of the Corona virus, and enact a general budget law. The magazine indicated that Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi received an invitation from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in each of them in an effort to strengthen ties between the two countries, while the Iraqi Prime Minister expressed his keenness to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

US condemns brutal killing of Iraqi expert Husham Al Hashimi

The US condemned on Wednesday the brutal assassination of Iraqi academic Husham Al Hashimi and called on the government to bring his perpetrators to justice.

Mr Al Hashimi, who advised the government on security matters was gunned down by two unknown men in front of his house in Baghdad on Monday.

“Iraq tragically lost a patriot, prominent scholar and journalist, Husham Al Hashimi, who devoted his life to a free and sovereign Iraq and gave voice to the aspirations of the Iraqi people,” US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said during a press conference.

A peaceful protest was held on Tuesday evening in Baghdad's Tahrir square in honour of Mr Al Hashimi's life as Iraqis and international colleagues mourned his loss.

Protesters held signs reading "they assassinated the voice of truth with a fake bullet" and videos circulated on social media of TukTuk drivers beeping outside his home in a show of solidarity and support system">support.

The killing has triggered fears that Iraq could enter a dark and violent new phase, as tensions worsen between pro-Iranian factions and the government of Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi.

In the days leading up to the assassination, Mr Al Hashimi was repeatedly threatened by Iran-backed armed groups, Mr Pompeo said. He called on the government of Iraq to “bring to justice the perpetrators of this terrible crime and bring them swiftly to justice.”

The US embassy in Baghdad said in a Facebook post that it was "deeply shocked and saddened by the cowardly murder" and offered "deepest condolences to his family and to the people of Iraq for the tragic loss of this Iraqi national treasure."

Mr Al Hashimi’s killing has sparked widespread outrage. The UN, foreign governments and Iraqi leaders have all condemned his assassination and urged the prime minister to hold the culprits to account.

Pompeo hints at Iran links in killing of Iraqi expert Al-Hashimi

image.jpeg.61f7e915c2624724f654abc27610c0d8.jpeg

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday demanded justice over the killing of a prominent Iraqi jihadism expert and highlighted threats against him by Iran-linked groups.

Hisham al-Hashemi, an internationally known scholar whose vast contacts inside Iraq made him a mediator among rivals, was gunned down outside his Baghdad home late Monday by masked assailants on motorcycles.

"In the days leading up to his death he was repeatedly threatened byIran backed armed groups," Pompeo told a news conference in Washington, without explicitly blaming Tehran.

"The United States joins partner nations in strongly condemning his assassination and call(ing) for the government of Iraq to bring to justice the perpetrators of this terrible crime... swiftly," he said.

Hashemi was an authoritative voice on Sunni extremist movements including the Islamic State group, which are violently opposed to Iran.

But he infuriated Tehran-backed factions in Iraq's Hashed al-Shaabi military network through his support of popular protests last year against a Baghdad government seen as too close to Iran.

Some experts have voiced fear of a new violent phase in Iraq and believe the turning point may have come in January when a US strike in Baghdad killed a top Iranian general, Qasem Soleimani.

President Donald Trump's administration has sought to check Iran's regional activities and choke its economy and frequently seeks to throw a spotlight on purported nefarious activities backed by the clerical state.

A senior American military official announced that America needs the help of the new Iraqi government, hinting that there is an Iraqi decision expected for the American forces to stay in Iraq to help him confront ISIS, according to the Washington Post.

The newspaper quoted General Kenneth McKinsey as saying, "(Al-Kazemi) has taken important steps to confront the militias related to Iran that targeted American forces" the adding that the United States must remain patient while Al-Kazemi challenges groups with massive military and political influence.

Marine Gen. Kenneth F. McKinsey Jr., who heads the US Central Command, commended Al-Kazemi for ordering a raid in late June on the headquarters of the PMF. "He is now negotiating a landmine, indicating that the American forces will remain, "McKinsey said, noting that after meeting Al-Kazemi during a visit to Baghdad: "I think we need his help. And he just has to find his way somewhat, which means we will get less than ideal solutions, which are not new in Iraq.”

Speaking to reporters on the phone after leaving Iraq, McKinsey expressed confidence that the Iraqi government will ask American forces to remain in the country despite the parliament’s decision to withdraw all foreign forces.

Head of the "Bayrak Al-Khair" Parliamentary Bloc, MP Mohammed Al-Khaldi, called on Wednesday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, to try the former Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, against the background of the assassinations of activists, journalists and bloggers in the country, warning of "great dangers" facing the holding of parliament sessions If it is held now

And Kurdish media quoted Al-Khalidi as saying that the former Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi was "responsible" for the assassinations and killings of demonstrators, activists and bloggers in the country, and Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi should be tried for "these murders

Al-Khalidi added that Abdul-Mahdi "destroyed the country during his tenure as prime minister," and turned Iraq into "no-state", attributing the reason to "his poor performance

The protest demonstrations in Iraq witnessed killings by armed groups, against activists and protesters, which received local, international, and angry reactions

And regarding the non-holding of parliament sessions, Al-Khalidi considered that holding them at the present time is "very dangerous", as a result of the infection of a number of deputies and parliament employees with the new Corona virus, pointing out that the situation now needs executive and not legislative work, especially after the House of Representatives approved what it requested Government on borrowing

The first comment from Washington on the Iranian bombing in Iraq

2020.07.08 - 12:42

0aba9892a-34891-202007081242.jpg

Baghdad - people

On Wednesday, the US State Department commented on the Iranian bombing in northern Iraq, while confirming its monitoring of the situation closely, calling on Iran to stay away from any act that would create instability in Iraq.

"We are aware, and we are closely monitoring the situation, and Iran must respect the sovereignty of Iran," the State Department said in a statement carried by the Kurdish "Roudaw" network, followed by "NAS" (July 8, 2020). Iraq, ending its interventions in Iraqi internal affairs and distance itself from any act that might threaten the security of Iraq. "

With the start of the military operation in the territory of the Kurdistan region, in mid-June 2020, Iran bombed the border areas in Choman district, resulting in the injury of a shepherd, as well as 12 sheep, by shooting them, which belong to the villagers in the Kani Rush region of Choman district.

In 2012, Iran built a number of border bases on the international borders with Iraq. The Ministry of Peshmerga in the region stated that a number of those headquarters and fortresses protecting the borders were placed within the territory of the Kurdistan region, bypassing the Iraqi-Iranian borders.

The US State Department confirmed its response, which came last week, regarding Turkish air and ground attacks within the territory of the Kurdistan region against the PKK fighters that it called "Tiger's Claw", that the governments of Turkey and Iraq must defeat the Workers Party that America has put since 1997 on the list of "terrorism" .

On July 6, 2020, the Turkish presidency published 36 military sites in the Kurdistan region, where the new Turkish attacks resulted in the loss of 4 lives of civilians in Dohuk Governorate, and the injury of a family of a man, a woman, and two children in the Kani Masi resort in Sulaimaniya Governorate.

In turn, the Turkish government said that the operation took control of some PKK sites and killed 41 PKK militants. On the other hand, the Kurdistan Workers stated that 107 Turkish forces were killed and two Turkish Drones shot down in the recent attack on Mount Haftinen.

Member of Parliamentary Finance reveals accurate details of how to carry out smuggling in the ports and its legal violations

126779.jpg?watermark=4

Localities 7/20/2020 18:51 348

Baghdad today - follow up

Member of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives, Jamal Cougar, revealed on Wednesday the type of smuggling that takes place at border crossings.

Cougar said in a press statement, "The number of official border outlets that are dealt with legally and fundamentally is (22) border outlets distributed over the various governorates of Iraq, as well as the presence of secondary unregistered outlets that are not subject to government control."

He added that "his committee does not have accurate statistics on the numbers of illegal border crossing points that exist in different Iraqi cities."

And that "corruption in the outlets is represented by the presence of informal outlets, the control of parties, armed groups and clans, as well as the presence of economic offices belonging to parties and militias inside or outside the outlets."

He added, "Among the corruption operations that occur in the outlets are falsifying the quantities that enter and deliberately reducing them and not disclosing the real truck loads in order to avoid customs and taxes, as well as forgery in quality and origin where the goods are registered (after changing the origin and quality) in the name of certain countries like Jordan that has Customs exemptions or enter the goods in the name of charitable bodies, institutions and organizations.

The deputy from Dohuk Governorate continues his speech by saying that "among the corruption operations that take place at the border outlets is to turn a blind eye to the introduction of some corrupt or legally prohibited substances such as drugs or the introduction of corrupt drugs that are mostly affiliated with one of the armed forces where their goods enter by coordinating with some Personalities that have influence over those inside the port, "noting that" the official authorities are not aware of the process of entering these materials. "

He continued, "There are groups in the border crossings that delay the entry of some goods until after the end of the official working hours, which is at three in the afternoon every day, where these groups adopt other prices and different treatment than was followed in the official working hours," pointing out that "there is organized corruption between the Savior And merchants with items inside the port. "

He pointed out that "after the year 2003, border ports were opened by parties and then turned into government outlets, and therefore since that time corruption has occurred and is still ongoing," noting that "the annual port revenue in each budget is estimated at 12 billion dollars annually, but revenues that reach Treasury of the state does not exceed (2) billion dollars.

He stressed that "the expected corruption in the border outlets ranges between 12 to 10 billion dollars annually," believing that "parties and personalities have become stronger than the government through its control of the various state joints and its control over the state administration in its favor."

"This equation is supposed to change through the government being stronger than the parties, and the authority in it is greater than the personalities by developing a tight plan to gradually control the border crossings according to importance," said Cougar. And previous reports issued by the Integrity Commission and the Financial Supervision Bureau confirm that the Iraqi state incurred heavy losses as a result of corruption in the border crossings and includes passing illegal goods or changing their type to exempt them from fees or reduce them and manipulate the quantities that enter the country.

It is believed that "addressing the problem of the ports is represented in controlling them by a military force more capable and efficient than the armed forces, limiting the management of the ports by a specific government agency, converting the work system from manual to electronic, with constantly changing cadres, solving the problem of corruption in administrative positions, and strengthening Control capabilities, centralizing port management, implementing penalties for forgery and smuggling, contracting with foreign companies to work in the outlets, and activating coordination with relevant departments.

The world's strongest passports for 2020 ... This is the arrangement of Iraq

7/9/2020 09:42:03

Before the outbreak of the Coruna virus, the world enjoyed greater freedom of movement than at any time in history.

Aircraft traffic has been steadily increasing over the decades, as passport holders have, on average, been able to visit 107 global destinations, without a visa or visa on arrival. However, this pleasure no longer exists after the application of the travel ban laws. The global "Henley" index, which assesses passports that are most suitable for travel on a regular basis, issued its third report, leaving Iraq at the bottom of the list and penultimate.

Asian citizens still carry travel documents that open most of the doors. Japan tops the list of the "Henley" global index, where its citizens can visit 191 destinations, whether without a visa or by using a visa on arrival. Singapore ranks second, while South Korea and Germany are third. The standard arrangement does not depend on the temporary travel ban, but contemplate what travel freedom currently appears to holders of passports, according to a statement issued by "Henley & Partners".

Last week, the European Union published its list of the 14 countries whose residents will be allowed to enter its territory, with effect from 1 July, months after the closure of its external borders, due to the outbreak of the Coruna virus. Japan and South Korea were on the list, along with Australia and Canada, which are ranked ninth in the global "Henley" index. Although the United States of America currently ranks seventh in the official index, it has the same level of freedom of travel for Mexico, and it ranks No. 25 in the "Henley" global index, in addition to Uruguay, which is ranked 28th. Brazil may be ranked 19th, but its absence from the list of countries welcomed by the European Union means that it is in fact close to Paraguay (and it is ranked 36th on the index). Meanwhile, Singapore ranks second in the global "Henley" index. However, their exclusion from the European Union list means that passport holders have much less travel freedom compared to the top countries: Japan, South Korea, and Germany. "As we have already seen, the impact of the epidemic on freedom of travel has been more severe and long-term than initially expected," says Christian H. Kailin, president of "Henley & Partners" and inventor of the passport index concept. More turmoil in the future."

Here is a list of the best passports for 2020:

3- South Korea, Germany (189 destinations)
4 - Italy, Finland, Spain and Luxembourg (188 destinations)
5 - Denmark and Austria (187 destinations)
6 - Sweden, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Portugal (186 destinations)
7 - The United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Norway, and Switzerland (185 destinations)
8 - Czech Republic, Greece, Malta, and New Zealand (184 destinations)
9 - Canada and Australia (183 destinations)
10 - Hungary (182 destinations)

Worst passports - Many countries around the world enjoy travel, No visa or visa on arrival, to less than 40 countries.

103- North Korea (39 destinations)
104- Libya, Nepal, Palestinian Territories (38 destinations)
105- Somalia, Yemen (33 destinations)
106- Pakistan (32 destinations)
107- Syria (29 destinations)
108- Iraq (28 destinations)
109- Afghanistan (26 destinations)

It is reported that the "Henley" index is based on data provided by the International Air Transport Association "IATA", and it covers 199 passports and 227 destinations, updated throughout the year.

Member of the Parliamentary Crisis Cell, Mudar Khazaal, stressed the need to give the Corona pandemic total attention and leave political differences aside and unify the word to confront the epidemic after recording large numbers of injuries in addition to solving financial problems related to employee salaries.

Khazal told "Information" that "the government is required to pay special attention to the Corona pandemic and focus all efforts to confront the epidemic to limit its spread."

He added that "the priority in dialogues and decision-making must be focused on finding solutions and treatments to reduce recorded infections with the Corona virus, especially political problems and disputes, and unifying the word on this matter."

And that "the government must solve the current financial crisis and address the problem of delaying the salaries of employees, because the entire life in the country depends on the distribution of salaries for employees and non-employees with limited income and different professions."

Today, Friday, the Parliamentary Integrity Committee revealed its solutions to manage corruption files in state institutions.

Member of the Committee, Deputy Jawad al-Saadi, told the Iraqi News Agency, "The volume of corruption files is greater than the capacity of the Integrity Committee, with waste in public money, and the exploitation of crises by entering ISIS gangs and the Corona pandemic." He explained that "we need a specialized angel of consultants and legal to follow up on these files," noting that "the Integrity Committee submitted several requests to recruit employees from outside the Council to seek their expertise, but the previous budgets prevented this."

For his part, member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Hussein Al-Oqabi, told the Iraqi News Agency, “Corruption in the state has two sides. The first is the political will of the ruling powers, the extent of their seriousness in fighting corruption, and the other side of the government’s system and its capacity with legal loopholes and inefficient human resources to manage corruption files”.

Al-Oqabi added that “the Integrity Committee has more than two thousand employees who were appointed by illegitimate methods, without production, which caused the committee’s inability, in addition to the absence of the legal contracting law, especially as it opens the door to exceptions that have a great scope for corruption.”He continued that "the Office of Legal Oversight and the competent to investigate corruption files has no basis for administrative investigation or judicial powers to investigate," stressing that "administrative control is compatible with the work of the executive branch, especially as it is better than the control of the House of Representatives."

A number of members of the House of Representatives demanded, Friday, the Presidency to resume the parliament sessions to discuss the Corona pandemic crisis and renew mobile phone licenses.

A representative source told Shafaq News, "Members of Parliament demanded, through Krupp, on social media," WhatsApp", the House of Representatives and the Presidency to resume the sessions to discuss the Corona pandemic crisis and renew the licenses of mobile phone companies, also referring to the emphasis on discussing" the Turkish army's incursion into Iraqi territory. "

He added that "the Presidency did not respond to the requests of the deputies and set a date for the resumption of the sessions and their convening," noting that "the request to host Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi regarding the financial and health crisis was submitted to the Speaker of the Council, Muhammad Al-Halbousi."

A parliamentary source had reported, at the end of last June, that the parliament presidency had not set any date for the resumption of the sessions, while he referred to the representatives' refusal to attend the sessions for fear of being infected with the Coronavirus.

The decision of the Iraqi parliament, Hoshyar Qirdagh, revealed, on June 22, that a representative of Parliament was going to hold the next parliament sessions via the electronic platform known as the video conference, after registering Coronavir virus infections between deputies and parliamentarians.

The Prime Minister of the Armed Forces Commander in Chief Mustafa al-Kazimi said on Friday that the defeat of ISIS would not have been possible had it not been for the Iraqi community to reject extremist ideology.

In a statement marking the liberation of Mosul, Al-Kazemi said, "The great victory that was achieved on the ground would not have been dawned, had it not been for another victory, whose rays dawned through an Iraqi societal rejection of sectarianism, discrimination and discrimination, and the Iraqis rejected black thought."

"We are fighting a war against corruption and devastation, and I am fully aware of the impact of this strong Iraqi resolve, thanks to their determination to displace terrorism and its incursions, the Iraqis will win the reconstruction of their country and in their war against corruption and the corrupt, and it will be another level that they rise together as one supportive people. They paid a price that did not Nobody pays them."

Al-Kazimi praised the position of the Iraqi army, police, counter-terrorism, the PMF, the Peshmerga, and the rest of the Iraqi forces in the war against the militant organization. It is noteworthy that ISIS had extended its control over an area estimated at two thirds of Iraq in the middle of 2014, and three years after the invasion, the security forces managed to defeat the organization militarily and extract those areas from its grip.

10th July, 2020

Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi issued a statement on the anniversary of the liberation of Mosul, stating:

In the name of of Allah the Merciful - And what Allah has made except for good news for you and for your hearts to be assured of it - Believe God Almighty

Dear Iraqi people - Hey Iraqi friends around the world. And everyone who embraced freedom, civilization, justice and moderation is a method in this world.

On the anniversary of the liberation of Mosul from the defilement of the terrorist organization, and the victory over ISIS, we stand with you today in a reverence for this great victory.

Iraqis recorded the liberation of Mosul, another white page in their history. They wrote it with the sacrifices of their children, their cohesion and brotherhood for the sake of the unity of Iraq, for the sake of the grave of the darkness of terrorism, and to stop their sins from all the world. They returned as they were when they drew the radiance of human history with their civilizations, dedicating the other nations a complete victory over the bastards of the age, organizing the lost and barbaric of the defeated ISIS.

Nations are proud of their victories over the tough people of history, who were a symbol of brutality, racism and enemies of humanity, and it is the right of Iraqis today to take pride in the memory of their most prominent victory, over whoever gathered all the awards and directed them in a way that targeted their existence and the survival of their lives on the banks of the two great rivers.

The great victory that was achieved on the ground would not have spawned had it not been for another victory that dawned its rays through a sincere Iraqi societal rejection of sectarianism, discrimination and discrimination. Acceptance of the other is the kindness of humanity and the opposite of creation, so there is no other as long as he lived long ago on their land.

That is why victory in Mosul restored to them their one soul, that if a party complained of it, all spectra were lost, with love, embrace, convergence, and prayers if necessary.  And we are fighting a war against corruption and devastation, and I am fully aware of the impact of this strong Iraqi resolve, thanks to their determination that they displace terrorism and its germs. They paid a price that no one had paid before them.

The stand of our armed forces was a responsible one that bears all the meanings of fever and courage that resulted in a successful defeat for the terrorist organization by the heroes of the Iraqi army, police, counter-terrorism, the popular crowd, the Peshmerga, and the rest of our forces. And everyone who vowed his blood in order to keep his country protected and the dignity of his children in glory and uplifting, as was the position of the rational religious authority, its decisive and principled speech that emanates from the honor of pride in the dignity of this country, and as it was throughout all ages, a bond of goodness, and a force of love, harmony, peaceful living and thanksgiving to everyone who supported Iraq From the states.

The greatest of those we remember today are the martyrs of Iraq, the high stakes that raised his name high and preserved dignity for Iraq and provided it with the reasons for its survival, as it remained through long ages, a beacon for the world, a kiss for theorists, and a home for the first civilization.

All the pride, pride and supremacy of the families of the martyrs, their families and their loved ones, thanks to you Iraq remained, and we still bear the dignity of living. All the pride and pride of the victims of the terrorist organization, and everyone who made his body and soul a shield or a revelation of the brutality of terrorism and evidence of the fall of the ISIS thwarting destructive thesis. Al Bari kept you dignified, dear and fearful. The good and high remembrance of the martyrs of Iraq.

Barzani party member accuses Baghdad of breaking with previous agreements with Erbil: We need a comprehensive agreement

      Policy 07/20/2020 15:47 407

      Baghdad today - Kurdistan

Member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Imad Bajlan, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the lack of implementation of the constitution by the federal government is the basis of the dispute between Baghdad and Erbil.
Baglan told (Baghdad Today), "In every meeting between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government in Baghdad, the region demands the application of the constitution and asylum to the Federal Court in contentious issues, but different governments in Baghdad apply it selectively."
He added that "any agreement between the two governments will be temporary, because all previous agreements are not implemented and Baghdad will soon be disavowed due to the failure to apply the articles of the constitution."
And he stated, "We need a comprehensive legal agreement that guarantees the rights of citizens in the region, as well as the rights of Baghdad, and this matter will not be applied through visits or relations between two governments because it will soon end as it happened with the previous agreement in the government of Abdul-Mahdi, for that constitution is Al-Faisal."
Before that, Baglan confirmed that the Kurdistan region is owed 27 billion dollars because of Baghdad's failure to pay the region's dues.
Baglan said that "the Kurdistan region was delivering 250 thousand barrels according to the 2019 budget while receiving half of the agreed amount and not more than 450 million," stressing that "the Kurdistan government does not take a share of the petrodollars like the Iraqi provinces."
He added: "In the days of the war against ISIS, the government borrowed 65 billion dollars and did not give it a dollar to the Kurdistan Region in the face of terrorism and now deducts part of the payment from the region."
He stressed that "the Kurdistan region owes $ 27 billion, which is because Baghdad stopped paying the region's dues at a time when it was fighting terrorism and saving the salaries of its employees forced."
A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government is preparing to visit the capital, Baghdad, as a prelude to completing negotiations on an agreement to deliver oil and revenue from border crossings in exchange for the federal government sending financial dues to the region's employees.

Al-Kazemi responds to Iran's provocations with the Battle of the Land Ports

BAGHDAD - Baghdad responded strongly Saturday to indications indicating Tehran's intention to stimulate hostile security activities inside Iraq, when the Armed Forces Command in Basra, in the south, announced direct drilling of a trench in the vicinity of a border port to cut off drug and arms smuggling from Iran.
Pictures showed mechanisms operating under the guard of Iraqi army soldiers to cut off irregular dirt roads used by smugglers linked to armed militias, to introduce drugs and weapons from Iran to Iraq and transfer the US dollar from Iraq to Iran.
And the sale of Iranian drugs in Iraq generates big profits, after this country turned from a mere passage of this substance to other countries, to a consumer.
Iran depends on selling drugs in the southern Iraqi cities, exchanging the return for the American currency, then returning it from the borders.
Iran also provides weapons to its militias and sells to all clans and those willing to possess all the weapons and ammunition they need.
Most of this material is introduced through dirt roads near the Shalamcheh border crossing between Iraq and Iran in Basra Governorate.
Military sources said that the Iraqi army forces received direct instructions from Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to stop smuggling operations between Iran and Iraq urgently, confirming that the Basra Operations Command has started since Saturday morning the establishment of a trench protected by an earthen shield that runs along the flat area near the Shalamcheh port, where it was built Militias are dirt roads.
This development comes after the Iraqi authorities announced hostile security activities - believed to be carried out by pro-Iranian groups in Baghdad and southern cities - targeting American interests.
It also came a few days after Al-Kazemi ended a visit to Tehran, which was surrounded by widespread controversy, and leaked from her that the Iraqi Prime Minister rejected an Iranian request to facilitate Tehran's acquisition of the US dollar.
The Iraqi and Iranian governments are reluctant to disclose the nature of the relationship between the two countries now, and whether they are really tense, against the background of the failure of Al-Kazimi's visit to Tehran.
Al-Kazemi’s directives did not stop at the level of stopping the smuggling of drugs and weapons from Iran to Iraq through the Shalamcheh outlet. Rather, it extended to include 13 other outlets, the most prominent of which is with Iran, including one with Saudi Arabia that was not opened mainly.
The Joint Operations Command, which is the highest military formation in Iraq, said that Al-Kazemi issued directives to “seize all border crossings, enforce the law in them, combat abuses and corruption and waste public money,” announcing its initiation of “allocating security forces to all outlets and the size of the assigned security force according to the nature of each Outlet, where protection responsibility has been defined for all outlets on the Iraqi army’s parts. ”
The leadership indicated that the forces empowered to protect the port and the customs sanctuary are “empowered with all legal powers to hold accountable any violation and from whomever it was.”
Sources say that this type of measure directly affects militia activity linked to Iran within Iraqi territory.
The government's actions reveal a clear plan to tighten control of the road linking Iran and Syria, via Iraq.
And if Iran uses its ports with Iraq in Basra and Diyala to introduce weapons, then it uses Anbar outlets to transfer weapons from Syria to Iraq.
These measures may provide a picture to answer the question that arises in multiple circles regarding the nature of the relationship between the Kazemi government and Iran.
But Al-Kazemi, according to observers, does not want to enter into an all-out war with Iran's arms in Iraq, which is besieged by the stifling economic and health crises.
Therefore, Al-Kazemi moves slowly and chooses files that do not raise media hustle, with the aim of strengthening the state’s influence versus that of the militias.
Observers say that without the support of the international community, Al-Kazemi may find himself powerless to cope with the tremendous momentum that Iran can manufacture in Iraq, through forces that view the country and its organs lightly.

In his meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister .. Khamenei vows to strike the Americans in response to the killing of Soleimani

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that his country would deal a blow to America in response to the killing of the prominent commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Qassem Soleimani, adding that his country would not interfere in Baghdad's relationship with Washington.
Khamenei made his threat in Tuesday's meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi, according to the official website of the Iranian guide.
Khamenei told the Iraqi Prime Minister - who is visiting Tehran - that his country will not interfere in Baghdad's relationship with Washington, but he warned that the American presence on the Iranian border is causing security chaos.
Al-Kazemi met Khamenei in Tehran on Tuesday during his first official visit abroad since he took office in May.
Khamenei said that "Iran will not interfere in Iraq’s relations with America, but expects Iraqi friends to know America and realize that its presence in any country causes corruption, destruction and destruction."
He continued, "The Islamic Republic expects to abide by the decision of the (Iraqi) parliament to expel American forces, as their presence is a reason for insecurity."

      America and Iran

Khamenei indicated that Soleimani was killed in an American air strike by a plane near Baghdad airport at the beginning of the year, after which the Iraqi parliament requested the withdrawal of American forces. "They killed your guest in your house and rudely admitted that," he said.
He added that Iran "will never forget this and will certainly strike a retaliatory blow to the Americans."
Tehran responded to the killing of Soleimani by launching ballistic missiles at bases used by American forces in Iraq, knowing that Trump refused to respond militarily to this strike.
The missile attack targeting the al-Asad base in western Iraq did not result in deaths among US forces, but it wounded soldiers with brain tremors.
Khamenei said that Iran opposes "what weakens the Iraqi government," contrary to Washington, which he said does not want "an independent and strong Iraqi government elected by popular vote."
