Affective Gun Control

Recommended Posts

We have a AR15 in our closet.  I have shot it once, my husband maybe a couple of times.  It's pretty much out of site out of mind but it's there and its ours.  I don't  need anybody telling me how many or how few clips we should have.  It's  ours, we are responsible for it and if, and I say if, that one of us goes into a fit of rage and we turn towards evil then once again it will be our own responsibility.  The Ar just sits without motive.  The government has no right to take what is mine. This is the beginning of socialism.

There is only one means that can and will turn this violence around and as much as many here will not want to hear it, it is the Spirit of God to come back Into our lives.  Home lives with morals and a belief in heaven and hell.  Humbly repenting and asking for forgiveness. Turning from our sin and pleading Gods mercy, thanking Him and giving Him the glory for our very breath.  We have become a nation of hate, we are without God in our mist as we have put Him out and depend upon self and government to guide us.  There must be a revival of the human heart before any man made solution will work for us.  We have become man of destruction and there is only one solution.  Think about that, and then give me a better solution.  Will it happen over nigh?  Doubtful, but will man made laws ever come to fruition without violation?  Only one answer for me,  hope yours is the same....

I lived through the Clinton AWB years when you where limited to shipping a Semi Auto rifle with 10 round mags (Thanks to Bill Ruger). You had to pay dearly for USGI 20 and 30 Round mags and people paid the price back them.

Post ban you couldn't get a Flash Hider so they fit them with muzzle Breaks. Post Ban you couldn't get a Bayonet Lug, A Collapsible stock........The AWB did Nothing to stop Crime. Back then the AR-15 wasn't that popular of a rifle nor was the AK-47 but they were still the focus of the Ban.

My 20 or 30 round Pre Ban mags have never been needed.....It only take a couple seconds to change out a magazine with a little practice.

This is but a few of my butt ugly 30's and I actual prefer USGI 20's to get lower to the ground when Prone should need be.

The Ban doesn't do anything to stop Crime it just causes Law Abiding people to pay more.

Without the first the second comes more easily.

If I want a 30 round mag or a 50 or 100 no one has the right to restrict that.

If someone else doesn't want it then fine, don't buy it. Keep your opinions or dislikes to yourself and

leave me alone.

Ok...Just like the beautiful licence plate of New Hampshire I saw once and I loved it "Live Free Or Die"

I have guns and I carry all the time. If you see me out in public I am carrying. Would I use it without cause? No. So why do I own and carry? I am not as quick and agile as I use to be. I have slowed down with age. I am too old to get me arse kicked by some punk and I am too young to die. Not hard to figure out at all. And those of you who want the 2nd amendment gone, if you ever get in a situation where your life is on the line you will wish you were armed. There are MANY everyday situations where people save their lives or the lives of loved ones or even a stranger that NEVER gets reported by the LSM. Doesn't fit their gun control narrative.

Same here....I put the damn thing on even if I know I not going to leave the house......It is put of getting dressed. I go out in public and to most I am just funny old guy in the Tommy Bahama Hawaiian shirt and to a few others it is....Ask him if he can hang around for a minute.

Last thing I ever Want is to actually draw my pistol and the only reason I carry or would is to save my life, or those lives around me should crap happen.

I am not looking for a fight, I wont wear a MAGA Hat, I don't put Stickers on my car....I am just the old guy that knows everyone 1st name and like Clint Eastwood......You put sugar in my coffee.

Oh my, a little para cord goes along way! :twothumbs: I have not seen many people set their mags up like this. Probably have about 50 or so set up like that. Buy them cheap and stack them deep!

You how much I respect you and your intellect. But I have to ask you one question here, what do you think the people of El Paso and Dayton Ohio think about your 7 round mags? If I'm in a situation like that I personally hope I have four 30 round clips strapped to my back. But hey that's just me.

Well......here are some thoughts......anyone properly trained....and who might visit a range once in a while could have dropped that clown with 1 shot.....

Now the bigger picture......Citizens can have all the multi-shot weapons in the world.....if the USG somehow loses its mind and the US military backs them.....if they want to take control....a militia of patriots won't be able to stop them.....I'll add to this a little later.....until then...😎

I forget how many I have set up with Zip ties covered in Para Cord....Very old school  and far better than the earlier magpuls that where soft rubber and would pull off the bottom of the mags

Then I have a USGI Tanker Tool Bag full of loaded USGI 20's from way back in the day.

IT WAS WRITTEN TO PREVENT CERTAIN TYPES OF GOVERNMENT

You are right......but let me share this perception....or perhaps reality......

2013 saw the start of a NSA creation in Utah.....a facility to gather information...(of course only on the bad guys).....1 million SF......200 tech's.......

It is now a 14 million SF facility using the equivalent power it takes to run a town of 50,000 people......big brother USA knows anything and everything about any citizen that the deem might be a threat to them.....in the case of martial law...they visit those people first.....resist.....and see how that goes......

(Side Bar : the US Embassy in Baghdad is 6 million SF.....wonder what thier doing there and in that region?.....interestingly the US Pentagon is 6 million SF.....a huge facility.....if you've ever driven by...ir seen it from the air... it would heighten your perspective.....)

An AR vs a Tank.....you get the picture.......

So isn't it interesting that early on Trump surrounded himself with so many Military minds.....think he had any "coup" Insight?.......(Joe Dunford was his most important appointment....)

Isn't it interesting that the rats in the FBI and DOJ are all being flushed out slowly but surely?

To be continued later.....just too nice of day to rant on about politics in the US......

Last quick thought......if you had to invest......the choice is between an AR.....or a second Citizenship......where does that investment dollar go?

Enjoy the weekend...!     CL

Thanks CL for the thread.

I always ask the same question when it comes to "gun control" debates, etc.

Does a gun, rifle, etc., ever on its own, pursue its target? A human must pick it up, point it at a target and pull the trigger.

The trigger puller must be held accountable, the gun did not commit the crime but it is blamed. if someone drowns in a pond of water...should we blame the water? A human beats another with a baseball bat...blame the bat?

Agreed on education, but the real problem is always the human factor. Humans have been for the most part predatory since time began. Little has changed on that fact, only thing that changes are the weaponry employed to be used by humans.

Violence, war, conflicts of every type are now part of american culture, fed by politics, media, etc.

2nd amendment was created so the public could protect themselves from govt. abuse, tyranny. Of course personal defense is close second and THAT should never be toyed with by any political party. We the people must maintain the right to bear arms...and the very reason is what we continue to see played with by both parties..."gun control".

Now having said that...often those involved in shooting crimes are often on the younger side. What drives this, going back to mid to late 90's when school shootings began to become far too common?

Most school shootings if one digs deep enough have been linked to some form of pharmaceutical drug, some psychotropic drug. Many labels on these drugs warn of potential violent outbreaks, etc. Especially in the YOUNG, but can affect anyone with bouts of violent behavior.

We hear little about that factor, the drug factor, because much of media will NOT report it specifically because pharma is a large part of their advertising and they are told NOT mention it.

In addition, where do some kids get the idea to pursue violence? parents? Parents politics or political ideologies? The constant left/right bickering the young may see or hear?

Bottom line is the problem is a human one, and one that no one or nothing has been able to tame. It all goes back to one major principle of life...treat others as you desire to be treated. This one principle is older than any religion, and is the basis of human interaction.

This too has failed. As long as the minds of people young or old are fed a constant diet of spin and media programming often with violence a part of the daily diet, any attempt to "control" guns is simply missing the point.

Anyone has the potential to become unstable due to a myriad of causes, influence of politics or religion, mental instabilities, that may push them to take their anger out on innocent people.

Jim,

Always Excellent....thanks for posting.....      CL

A second citizenship. I'm not afraid of my government because of my extreme Faith.  I know how this is going to end because I TOTALLY BELIEVE the word of God. I'm not a threat to the government because only God can beat them. And he will. I am amazed at how people make the mistake of not seeing this as it was written thousands of years ago. But that too was foretold.

Have a wonderful weekend yourself Prof.
