The Presidency of the House of Representatives, held on Tuesday, its usual 30 chaired by Hassan al-Kaabi and the presence of 172 deputies.

A parliamentary source told Alsumaria News that the Presidency of the House of Representatives opened the proceedings of the meeting No. 30 of the fourth parliamentary session for the first legislative year within the second legislative term under the chairmanship of First Vice-President of the Council Hassan al-Kaabi.

The source pointed out that "the meeting was held in the presence of 172 deputies." 

The agenda items of the meeting, according to the agenda, announced by the constituency, is to consider the appeals submitted to some deputies and vote on the special grades and the report of the investigative committee on the incident of the House of displaced women in Adhamiya.

Parliament votes on the new governor of the Central Bank

BAGHDAD / Al-Masala: The deputy of the Fatah Alliance Amer al-Fayez, on Tuesday, the House of Representatives received the curricula vitae of candidates for 8 degrees, where he is scheduled to vote on them, while confirmed that the candidate of Prime Minister Abdul Mahdi for the post of governor of the Central Bank will also gain confidence.

Fayez said in a statement to local media that "the Presidency of the House of Representatives received the names of 8 candidates with their curriculum vitae to fill eight grades, especially the governor of the Central Bank."

He added that "the political agreement and according to the agenda provides for the passage of candidates during the session today," noting that "the parliament will also discuss the validity of the membership of some of the deputies as well."

Member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee Kazem Sayadi revealed on Tuesday attempts by "corrupt parties to buy votes" in the committee and made them "dependent", threatening to withdraw from the committee in the event that happened. 
"Some corrupt parties are trying to buy the votes for the purpose of nominating one of them so that the committee will be subordinate to this and that and thus lose its control value and follow up and prosecute the corrupt and bring them to justice," Sayadi said in a statement received by Mawazine News.

The Iraqi parliament failed on Tuesday to give confidence to private bicycles in the Iraqi government.

A parliamentary source told Ashqaf News that the council postponed the vote on special grades because of differences and incompatibility between the parliamentary blocs.

The three presidencies have recently decided "to grant more time to the government until 24-10-2019, (the end date of the year of the government) for the selection of personalities to run the state institutions, and to end the file of the administration by proxy and support the government in choosing the best according to the principle of efficiency and integrity and achieve national balance Away from quotas. "

The source added that the House of Representatives ended discussion of the proposed amendment to the first law of the federal budget of the Republic of Iraq No. (1) for the year 2019.

The source added that the Presidency of the Council of Representatives decided to extend the separation of the Legislative Council for one month in order to complete the important laws that contribute to enhancing the reality of the citizens on the continuation of the oversight role of deputies in their parliamentary committees and their provinces.

Who knows what’s going on over there, there is just so much fake news or what we used to call scuttle-butt coming out of there, it just makes ya sick! I’m still hopeful for our window of opportunity this month! They just never adhere to anything that supposedly they say. Now they are extending their term! Which I believe is a good thing! As our good friend Synopsis says, could be something or could be nothing. Happy 4th of July to all DVer’s and their families!  🤠

MP for the province of Basra Jamal al-Muhammadawi, Tuesday, to ask eight questions to the ministries on the activation of the law to protect the environment and reduce the manifestations of pollution. 
"We have sent eight parliamentary questions to the ministries concerned to activate the law to protect and improve the disabled environment and to reduce pollution and injuries to cancer," he said in a press conference held in the House of Representatives and attended by Mawazine News. 
"The province of Basra, especially in the provinces where drilling and exploration operations are active, is suffering from high levels of pollution in soil, water and air. This pollution has caused an increase in the incidence of cancer, respiratory diseases and poisoning."
"To follow up the procedures of the ministries and the executive bodies on this problem, eight parliamentary questions were directed to the relevant ministries to follow up on their commitment and implementation of the Law for the Protection and Improvement of the Environment No. 27 of 2009, namely the Ministry of Health, Environment, Oil, Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities as well as the Ministries of Interior, Scientific and cultural and archaeological and the Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network. " 
He also added that a parliamentary question was addressed to the Minister of Health and the Environment regarding the activation of the Council for the Protection and Improvement of the Environment, and the decisions and minutes of the meetings, as well as the recommendations of the Council which were submitted to the Council of Ministers which were approved or not ratified and the reasons for this. Environment in the province of Basra in particular. "
"We also directed a question to the Minister of Oil on the environmental pollution in Basra, taking measures to reduce the damage and risks resulting from the exploration and drilling and other oil operations, especially by companies licensing rounds of oil and the subject of oil lakes that contaminated the soil." 
In the same regard, "a parliamentary question was directed to the Minister of Construction, Housing and Municipalities on the need to demonstrate the ministry's practical procedures to stop the connection and discharge of heavy sewage with the network of rain and rivers, which caused the registration of thousands of poisoning cases in the province of Basra in 2018, and the Ministry's accountability for burning waste near The residential neighborhoods in the province of Basra "
