The head of the parliamentary finance committee, Haitham al-Jubouri, revealed leaks that talk about the inclusion of 67 new Iraqi political figures with US sanctions, while referring to the American intention to issue other lists of sanctions. 
This comes a week after sanctions imposed by the US Treasury on four prominent Iraqi leaders, including two leaders of the "popular crowd." 
Jubouri said that "his committee is waiting for the arrival of indicators and evidence on corruption and money laundering by the American side, to start investigating politicians covered by sanctions 
For his part, said a member of the Committee on Security and Defense parliamentary, in an interview with the new Arab newspaper, "Leaders in the popular mobilization has been moving for days, towards the Committee and the parliamentary blocs, in order to issue a resolution condemning US sanctions."
He added that "some of the deputies of the Fatah Alliance began a campaign to collect signatures on this matter," noting that "the presence of another team within the Security Committee and the rest of the components of Parliament, calling for the wait and demand Washington to provide evidence on any person imposed sanctions. 
In the same context, warned the head of the "Badr parliamentary bloc" Hassan al-Kaabi, the Americans from what he described as a strong position in the event included leaders of the "popular crowd" sanctions, or criminalized factions of the "crowd," explaining in a press statement that the parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, , Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, are required to adopt a position that takes into account concerns that senior "crowd" leaders may be sanctioned. 
"America is seeking to play with fire, dragging the popular crowd to strike it to have a pretext for taking new measures in the UN, and Iraq is under its control," al-Kaabi said.
Last Thursday, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on former Nineveh governors Nawfal al-Aakoub, former Salahuddin Ahmed al-Jubouri (Abu Mazen), and the leader of the popular Babylonian clergy Rayyan Chaldean, For human rights and corruption, in a fourth step of its kind targeting Iraqi individuals in less than a year

The House of Representatives on Thursday, the discussion of a bill, while another debate on the matter of a drug from a parliamentary committee. 
A parliamentary source told Mawazine News that "the House of Representatives concluded the discussion of the draft law on the ratification of a headquarters agreement between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the International Committee of the Red Cross." 
The source added that "the Council, decided to postpone the discussion of the draft law of the first amendment to the Law of Education No. (22) for the year 2011, at the request of the Parliamentary Education Committee." 
The House of Representatives held this afternoon its 35th session of the fourth parliamentary session for the first legislative year in the second legislative term under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Speaker Hassan al-Kaabi. 
Parliament is scheduled to vote and read a number of laws on its agenda

A parliamentary source told Mawazine News that "the House of Representatives ended the discussion of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Convention on Minimum Standards of Social Security No. (102) for the year 1952." 
The House of Representatives held today its 35th session of the fourth parliamentary session for the first legislative year in the second legislative term under the chairmanship of the first deputy chairman of the council, Hassan al-Kaabi.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - 
The House of Representatives on Thursday ended its first reading of a bill to ratify the double taxation agreement between Iraq and Hungary. 
"The House of Representatives concludes the first reading of the draft law on the ratification of the double taxation agreement and the prevention of evasion of taxes on income and capital between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Hungarian government," a parliamentary source told Mawazine News. 
"The House of Representatives has also completed the first reading of the draft law to collect the example of state-owned land for non-agricultural purposes," he said.

I believe I read that the session was extended to end August 3rd. They're not exactly burning down the house with all these bottom-of-the-barrel laws, though it would be nice to see them move fast on the new CBI nominee so he can get a head start on cleaning the rats out of the vaults. But this is Iraq. I expect they will drag this out until the last moment.

The House of Representatives votes on the law of the Iraqi Maritime Authority and ends reading seven laws (expanded)
Baghdad, July 25, 2019, in the presence of 170 deputies, the law of the Supreme Iraqi Maritime Authority, and ended the reading of seven draft laws.
The media department said in a statement received at the beginning of the meeting, Hassan al-Kaabi expressed the Parliament's condemnation of the heinous crime committed by the former regime after the discovery of the mass grave in the province of Samawa and the remains of 70 Iraqis. 
Then the Council read Al-Fatihah on the lives of all the martyrs of Iraq. 
For his part, MP Yousef al-Kalabi suspended his membership in the meetings of the Council to 1/8 in protest against non-commitment to host the ministers of finance and oil in the Council to inquire about paragraphs in the federal budget law on the export of oil. 
In turn, Al-Kaabi called for the importance of giving the delegation of the central government his official mission during his visit to the Kurdistan region, urging the concerned parties to conclude the oil agreement between the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government in accordance with the constitutional framework.
The Council voted on the draft law of the Supreme Iraqi Maritime Authority, submitted by the Services and Construction Committee for the regulation and development of the maritime sector, the adoption of international standards for working in it, keeping abreast of international conventions in the field of safety and protection of the marine environment, encouraging the private sector to work in the field of maritime transport, High. 
The Council postponed discussion and vote in principle on the draft law of the first amendment to the Law of the Ministry of Education No. 22 of 2011 and submitted by the committees of education and finance. 
The Council completed the reading of a report and discussion of the draft law on the ratification of a headquarters agreement between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the International Committee of the Red Cross, submitted by the Committee on Foreign Relations
The deputies' interventions focused on demanding the inclusion of the Human Rights Committee in participating in the legislation of the law, adding a paragraph that allows the government to lift the immunity of any member of the international missions in the event of a violation, and the views of the executive bodies and the ICRC. 
On the same matter, the Council completed the reading of the report and discussion of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Convention on Minimum Standards of Social Security No. 102 of 1952, submitted by the committees on foreign relations, labor, social affairs, migration and displaced persons. 
The Council concluded the reading of a report and discussion of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the International Convention on Rescue for the year 1989, submitted by the Committees of Foreign Relations, Health and Environment.
The Council also read a report and discussed the draft law on the ratification of the Military and Security Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, submitted by the Committees on Foreign Relations, Security and Defense. 
The Parliament concluded the first reading of the draft law on ratification of the Convention on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of evasion of taxes on income and capital between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Hungarian Government, submitted by the Committee on Foreign and Financial Relations, which aims at developing and strengthening mutual economic relations.
The Council completed the first reading of the draft law to collect the example of state-owned land for non-agricultural purposes submitted by the Finance, Agriculture, Water and Marshlands Committees to limit abuses on state-owned land for non-agricultural purposes and to determine rates of payment of such land taxes, . 
The Council also concluded the first reading of the proposed law of the Syndicate of Programmers, submitted by the Committee of Civil Society and Parliamentary Development Organizations, in order to take care of the programmers' segment, improve their level, support and develop this segment, defend their rights and keep abreast of technological development. 
The meeting was then adjourned to Tuesday 30/7/2019. is over
