Popular Post Trimark
another site Summation (author unknown) 7/8/10 Here is the situation as best as we can determine. We could be wrong, but the intel is strong. Iraq is under a PILE of pressure to get this political stuff done, and of course, get the RV done. That is no secret. China made some huge deals and let them out of $8 B in debt. Other countries have forgiven a lot of debt. Kuwait made a deal with them. China also has been awarded about 60% or 70% of the oil contracts. There are 4 countries that have oil contracts that really want to start drilling like crazy. GE stopped work on the power plants because they want to get paid in a tradeable currency. Iraq just announced the 5 year plan to build Iraq back — 2700 projects — and they don’t have the money to do any of them. There are TONS of companies waiting to roll in with their investment dollars and technology, but everybody is waiting. There are 18 other countries waiting to RV their currencies. The IMF is sick of these delays. The UN, IMF, China, Europe, US, the World Bank, and the IRAQI PEOPLE all are pressuring these guys to get it done. We think that Biden was sent there to deliver 2 messages — LOUD AND CLEAR — LAID DOWN THE LAW. Message #1 — If you guys don’t get this done by the 14th (constitutionally they have 30 days, which runs out on the 14th) then the UN and the US will step in and MAKE THE DECISIONS that need to be made to put the government in place. A whole new level of pressure. Iraq is also OUT OF MONEY. They asked for a $3.8 Billion loan from the IMF to run the country until they get everything done. The IMF approved it, but they are handing it out in very small pieces. So far we think the have given them about $400 million. Biden probably delivered another message — Message #2 — You ain’t getting any more money either. The Iraqis have to do this themselves, if at all possible, because of the perception around the world. It would NOT be good for the UN and US to have to go in there and finish it. All of a sudden we see a whole different attitude being reported over there — Maliki is really negotiating with Allawi, and it looks like they are actually working things out. Now, some sources are talking about the RV happening this week, some are talking next week. No one really knows when it will happen. What we DO KNOW —- it that it WILL HAPPEN —— SOON. Maybe with these ADDITIONAL PRESSURES being put on them, they might just get these political situations resolved and get the government in place. Then the RV can happen. So just be patient. The end is near. Say your prayers. Enorrste response Wow! What a great summation of the current situation! I don’t care what you say, folks, but this guy is doing his homework. I truly wish that I had said it exactly as he did! Great job and well put! What else can I say? Steve 42

RICK C
Super post and easy to understand. And brings Hope to all who were Smart enough to invest. I wonder what will happen after the 14th IF they have NOT completed the items mentioned?Surely their own people want the RV as much as we do. Jim m
Thanks for the post, My interpretation of this thing is that the outgoing government had a vested interest in keeping things as they were. In other words they did not want a free market economy because of the fact they were skimming if not outright looting because of their positions. Hopefully with the change in leadership that will stop or at least lessen to the extent that we will see an end to this ride. denbo420
The end of this delema is near !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dilemma, good title for this wild ride! I pray it is over soon cause both my wife's business and mine are about to crash & burn, I won't even get into the domino effect that will have. compared to most here i don't have much invested in the dinar simply because the bad global economy and that 'thing' in the white house that thinks shutting down the Oil industry will somehow result in something better or safer is WAY BEYOND BRAIN DEAD in my book. My goal is to make enough to be able to keep the boat afloat, compete for work on a level playing field, hire a couple folks and stash a little cash for the unexpected (no retirement here). OB-Opie is crushing the small business owner, I guess thats 'change' huh? I'M just hoping the US governments greed will force/influence the rate a little higher when it RV's 2

jam_az
The date on this is 7/8/10. I think it is a little OLD! Especially in the currency market. The government was not even formed at this time. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
ScottF
Great Post!! Brief, concise and to the point. Well Done!! let me add my meager 2c's worth. Perhaps a number of you might remember a few days ago when word from the hill was that the Senate was voicing concern about our continued monetary support for Iraq. Now from whence did that juicy little tidbit come from? Right out of nowhere. All of a sudden, in the midst of so much other legislative work and agenda, someone jumps up and says, "You know.... I've been thinking". Pretty self-serving if you ask me. I'm thinkin' someone was trying to fire a shot across their bow and get them to take notice. But then, what do I know. ...Just sayin'.
